I love the man’s reaction. Glued to it, couldn’t take his eyes of it, then when it ends just nonchalantly turns and says “that was good wasn’t it”. Not one to get carried away I assume! 🤣
Those were the days such a common thing when family member gathered in a living room watching television together, unlike today perhaps every person is busy with their own gadget 😃
Woooooooow!!! this is amazing, authentic and very rare moment in life to get a reaction from peoples look before it became a sensation across the world to do . thank you so much for finding this footage and sharing it :) . its not often you get something like this these days, most VHS tapes have been destroyed, withered out or lost forever
As another Irish person, and I’m not just some American to be clear, my family watched the animated one and my dad got really pissed at the deer coming over the hill and my mum said “the live action one was more accurate and better” also my mums Scottish so she thought that’s how Irish people actually are when she watched the live action as a child
And it actually had proper speakers instead of the almost necessary sound-thingy-add-on you need these days to be even able to hear what is being said on the thing... ;)
This could very well be one of those moments 'it's actually far better than we expected' (which was rather normal, as the interval-act usually wasn't such a big deal). Sometimes something just strikes right for a lot of people and when that happens, people would document it with whatever they had available to them ;)
Surety 1. The ‘mammy’ had a proper hair appointment and wedding first outfit dry cleaned for the recording 2. Exactly two seconds after this stops the words ‘alright now turn the camera off he eejit’ we’re uttered by the Da

I think this is probably the first ever reaction video.
First ever live reaction video yes, it's actually quite a rare video
The time every set of eyes in the country was glued to the telly for 7 minutes... apart from those playing with dolls of course 😂
Haha they were chess pieces. Much more sophisticated. 😂
Probably only comparable to Ireland Rumania Italia90 when a nation held its breath - just like here.
30 years ago today! As an eleven year old child watching, I couldn’t take my eyes off it either. An iconic part of Irish history 🇮🇪
This needs to be archived and preserved until the end of the world.
What a precious video you've saved ❤️
Mary we’re putting the girl in dance classes! not annudder word, that’s Final!

This is one moment where I would love to see how my family and I reacted to this. I can't remember. I was 11 back then.

It’s like going back in time.
Lol I was 9! I was enthralled!
Oh wow, this is great!
1st ever Googlebox episode.
Pure deadly💚🇮🇪
Da was bleedin gray 😂
Back when the wall was bigger than the telly.

React video before it was a thing
Oh my god! Why was it even recorded? This is amazing
My uncle got a camcorder that year and documented a lot luckily!

Почему ирландская семья похожа на типичную русскую конца 80-х - нач. 90-х?
Кстати, Мэгги О'Рэйли - копия нашей Пугачёвой того времени💯
🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🥰🥰🥰
Televisions had far better sound back then. Flatscreen tvs with tiny speakers are crap. Always need a soundbar or external speakers.
I'll get the tea, so
