makes me think of not another teen movie when they are at the prom and "You would never guess that everyone who goes to this school is a trained dancer."
I don't think you realize how much rehearsal has to go in to make it this good, from a dancer standpoint (which I have been Irish dancing for 6 years and counting)
Mr flatleys, laid back response at 0:16 is soooo Irish " let people do what they want, it's all good"... That is why I love Irish people and their country so much... Amazing people.
@@miscellaneous_man756 Hey! keep your hands where I can see them! If you wanna talk gun's that's with my sister over there... I'm just the muscle in the family business...
That doesn't always give it away ;) I've been to numerous irish-dance competitions by now (both as spectator and dancer myself) and there is a huge difference between the muscles: some women have extremely thin legs while others have huge muscles: when they dance, you don't notice the difference...
That One Slytherin Hello to you as well. They’re called “ghillies” and “reel shoes,” right? I was trying to make a joke. Happy that you appreciate it :p
In 1998, my mother and sister took my 3 yr old grandkid to see Mike dance in Las Vegas, she stood on the chair the entire time and danced! no one complained.................
I was suspicious of the very short skirts, but didn't notice the shoes. Fun clip, love MF and the Irish woman with green nails is so cute-they both were.
My favourite part is the original audience member in the stripy shirt turning to the obviously professional Irish dancer next to him and apparently innocently asking (at 02:35) “have you done this before?”
@chrislang7460 completely. I would have had spotted them immediately at slightest sound from 20 yards away. And it is sound I mean, even when they were walking. 2:44
And we don't have grades. It's junior and senior infants and then 1st class up to 6th class in primary school. Then in secondary school it's years as in 1st year etc. up to 6th year.
It's the problem with only knowing a little Irish dance, you don't know enough to be good but you know enough to be REALLY INTIMIDATED by the row of professional dancers you're suddenly in.
It's so true though with the people who think they know Irish dance. They try to do it and while sometimes it's close, most times it's not. But this was funny😂 (I'm an Irish dancer and I could never do what the first guy and girl did. I would of froze😅😂)
I suspect most of the non-Irish dancing folks who try to do it probably have a few alcoholic beverages under their belts and say to themselves, "Hell, it's St. Patrick's Day, I'll do my Michael Flatley impersonation."
I didn't notice it was setup up till I saw my cousin Ceili Moore and remembered her telling me she was on the show because she was dancing with Irish dancing crew 😂😂
Takes me back to Angela’s Ashes when Frankie lied and said he was taking dancing lessons with the monies but he was going to the movies instead. He illustrated what he’d learned to his parents and it had no structure at all but they clapped along anyway. So to the two guests who attempted…I applaud you👏🏽
I just love how Michael Flatley sat there and watch 2 audience members tried to Irish dance and he didn't even judge. When the girl realized that they were with professional dancers, she said I quit.
It's official. I have permission from the Lord of the Dance himself to pretend to Irish dance in my livingroom to my Celtic Woman album. (Not everyone has access to dance studios to learn at, after all)
Ah, so there just happened to be sitting a group of trained legged ladies with same skirt length in the audience. So marvellous when randomly picked audience can join in the Irish dance so readily. Cheers, GN!
Love the face when Cate and Liam suddenly realised they were sitting with a row of professional dancers!
funny, Liam is my math teacher and he tells my class now...
Awsome
I love their faces when..*
You're just telling us to love the face when..:D
wow its amazing how all those people in the front row could dance so well, almost like they performed together before!

@Luke Thomas I loved that I stumbled upon it.
Before they all stood up, I noticed they all had the same, specific shoes suited to irish dancing hahahah it was still good though
+Love.Stories8 You can also see epic leg muscles on these ladies. Instant spoiler that they are pro dancers.

Jesina.22 i love the irish way .. always up for some fun
no...THOSE FRONT ROW DANCERS WERE PROS and a great guests in his honor.
That moment when you realize they're all wearing the same exact shoes:
"Well-played, Mr. Norton. Well-played..."
One hello fellow annus and two those shoes are specifically made for Irish Step dance they're sort of like tap shoes but with heels.
That One Slytherin Hello to you as well. They’re called “ghillies” and “reel shoes,” right? I was trying to make a joke. Happy that you appreciate it :p
Memento mori.....
I had no idea it was a setup before they started! My initial thought was "what a fashionable audience!" And then i was pleasantly surprised =)
The professional dancers look so beautiful.
When they all stood up, I was like "Aw, these people got all dressed up to come and see the Graham Norton show, that's nice" 😂
Why is this dance soooo moving ....so good..
the first time i seen this dance many many years ago it made me smile for weeks.and even tonight i am smiling.i just love it
Long Live Erin, beautiful and magic island!

Irish dance. How I love it.

I knew it!! Those first row bodies were too athletic for average and random people?! Amaaazing!!

How intimidating must it have been for the dancers to perform that routine in front of Michael Flatley, the man who originally choreographed it.
I feel like it was his troupe and he was in on it. Could just be me, though.
@@CrashBoomBang78 they're his troupe so it was probably planned

My brother is practicing it for about 8 years now I think, and he is still intimidated by the really well trained ones :P.
As he was making the row stand up I was thinking 'Graham's got a really attractive audience today!'
That bit where they go down the line lifting their arms and then putting them down again is very impressive.
hahahaha poor Liam and Kate
