This was the first MLP anything I ever saw a child. Without A Very Minty Christmas, I probably wouldn't have given FIM a try when it started airing.

sadly i never watched this one and only saw it in the commercials played before the one i would watch which was the runaway rainbow. I only seen it recently but i know i would’ve loved it

G3 really deserves more love and this special is a good argument as to why! minty is a really lovable character, and the whole movie just has such a cozy and kind vibe
G3 was the gen of my childhood days so it holds a lot of sentimentality for me personally. i remember being upset as hell at how the gen 4 fans just...hated it with a disturbing passion lol
This was me as well! I stopped watching g4 during season 5 as a kid, but right now I'm currently collecting g3 toys and the films! (Even though there aren't many 🥲)
Another thing I've been considering doing is collecting the singalong's and books as well! A lot of g3 merch (everything that came during g3) is cheap and very easy to collect as g3 didn't do well commercially, alongside the fact it has a smaller fandom than g1 and g4. It's to the point I've found g3 NIB's selling for near the price that they would've sold for in store (like only being $5 more expensive) and it's crazy to me! I wish g3 got what it deserved 😪
It's funny because just earlier today I was just getting nostalgic over this movie and how I feel it really didn't deserve the hate it got during the age of G4. I grew up watching this movie during the holiday season-I remember pulling out the DVD and popping the disk into my DVD player and watching it once, twice, sometimes even three times in one sitting. It's such a feel-good movie that really gets you into the holiday spirit. You said it better than I could, its the perfect holiday comfort movie. And honestly without it, it just wouldn't feel like Christmas.
P.S. Minty is and always will be my favorite G3 pony. To me, she's the embodiment of the holiday spirit, and I find her clumsy nature very charming. I also just really adore how she was somewhat of an inspiration for Derpy, even being voiced by the same person.
Minty was always my favorite, when I was younger and still today. I would watch it whenever christmas time came, and sometimes when it wasn't because I loved the movie. G3 deserves more love, I really wish I still had the minty christmas dvd..
This is a cornerstone holiday movie of mine. No matter how many times I watch it, it’s always makes me tear up!
Curious George is such an underrated show, and I always love Minty Christmas!

I have never watched this particular movie, but old generations have always been really comforting for me to watch. The writting isnt good everywhere, but who really cares. Ponies are just something sweet and nice and naive to watch during hard times.
Out of all the mlp G3 films. "A Very Minty Christmas" is honestly one of the few most decent ones, at least in my opinion i mean sure it has it's ups and downs like all the Gen 3 movies do but it's still a good one to watch!

For talent day in 3rd grade, I brought my very minty Christmas DVD and sang along to nothing says Christmas like a pair of socks.
Now, almost 20 years later, my fiancé got me 35 different pairs of socks for Christmas lol.
I never saw this movie, but a lot of the dvds I had as a kid had the commercial for it at the beginning of them, so I saw that preview TONS of times over. So it's still nostalgic for me despite having never seen it haha. I guess I should actually go ahead and watch it one of these days because all I remember is watching the preview over and over and being like "damn that looks so good I need to actually find a way to see it"

Yep! I remember that too, I also loved Blue’s Clues. The other one I remember seeing a trailer for it on was a Dora The Explorer collection I believe.
this is my fav mlp movie ever i had this on vhs and its very near and dear to my heart, i watch it every Christmas !also the music is top tierrrr goodness PEAK Christmas feeling for me
A Very Minty Christmas was probably one of the first things that really got me into MLP as a kid, and honestly, looking back at some of the G3 movies they were pretty harmless. They’re obviously not the best pieces of cinema (as is also the case with some G4 stuff, but everything has its own flaws) nor are they the disaster that a lot of MLP fans see them as. They’re just cute movies to watch and enjoy!
Honestly "a very minty Christmas " is A CLASSIC and me and my family watch it every year no matter what you say I will protect this movie for as long as I'm alive
Yes! I loved this movie so much when I was younger, so excited to see this video! The G3 art style is pretty uncanny valley after getting so used to the G4, but I’ll always have a nostalgia for it. I love the fluid hair animation too. The only comment I have to make is that Thistle Whistle was one of my favorites as a child because I’m on the spectrum and I have stim words/phrases which her whistling reminded me of, but I agree when rewatching this movie as an adult it gets very tiresome. Maybe kid me was just a sucker for Pegasi and whistling... Also this thumbnail art is adorable!

This movie came out two years after the year i was born so i watched this a lot as a kid. And honestly i can say it was( and still is) one of my favorite movies

Minty was my favorite pony because we both have our birthdays on Christmas and I watched this movie more then all the other DVDs in my childhood horde lol. This is absolute comfort for me and I love the socks song a lot, this is a special done right with childhood in mind.
Ngl, Minty is full of personality. I actually cried when she was all sad. I hated G3 because all the ponies had the same model, but Minty's gotta be my fave.
yooo this is literally what triggered me diving back into mlp after all these years. i’m not too close with my dad (my only parent), yet when mlp got brought up with family a few weeks back he still remembered my favorite pony when i was a kid was minty 🥺 made a lot of memories pop back for me so i rewatched the movie and have kinda been binging vids like your other vids since then (i grew up on g3 stuff but then later was also into g4)
excuse the rambling, i just have a lot of family issues and a not-great childhood so, i guess this obscure pony movie kinda means a lot to me in a weird way

Watching this is a huge nostalgia trip; got this movie on DVD for christmas when it came out (I remember the old commercials for it and while I had mlp toys this was really the first piece of media that caught me and I BEGGED to get it) and it's such a good memory; Minty is still my favorite G3 character to this day.
I only remember this film from back when Mr Enter used to actually talk about MLP. I actually used to be a fan of him back then.
I remember this movie... direct-to-video special. It is one of the more... memorable G3 outings that has a relatable lead, a simple enough story & good holiday atmosphere. I really should check it out again for this holiday season...!
This is the previous mlp gen I’ve ever seen personally (cartoon wise, I used to play the pc games and had some toys). My uncle heard me talking about MLP and went to the store and rented this movie for me, even though it wasn’t g4 I still appreciated it and we watched it together.

Oddly, I think Thistle Whistle was one of my favorites out of G3 when I did a curiosity watch through a few years ago. I remember her being rather down to earth for a Pegasus.

Just from reading the title, I know everything you say it's true
I remember watching this on RUclips on my tv as a kid. I loved mlp (and I still do) and I do like the designs of the G3 ponies a lot in this film. Maybe it’s their manes, or I like how they all look smiliar yet they are all different.
I actually remember renting this movie from the library and watching it nonstop for hours, to the point where my parents took away my library card

g3 was a little before my time, but my parents picked up a dvd of this when i was younger and it's been a favorite of mine ever since.

I grew up with G3. It was always a childhood tradition to watch A Very Minty Christmas on Christmas, and watching this just made me revive that tradition again. This movie does have that magical Christmas feeling that makes me feel like a kid on Christmas Eve again. I think I'm gonna go on a G3 revisit again
My local friend group and I have an annual holiday tradition of watching "Minty's Christmas B&E" together, as we like to call it. XD

A very minty Christmas was a movie I used to watch every Christmas and I don’t think any holiday movies after that have hit the same
This my first piece of pot content I ever consumed. I watched it ever year for many years and I still own the original VHS I had of it. Minty and the songs from this special are still parts of my favorite Christmas songs, pony songs, and characters.
I remember my dad getting this movie for me from blockbuster when i was a kid. Man, I completely forgot about it but I remember quite enjoying it as a kid. Maybe I should watch it again this year, just for the vibes. Also I love you quoting Jenny Nicholson lol.

Watching this was wild because I sort of recognized Minty, but figured I just remembered playing with her since I had some G3 toys as a wee lad. But, then I saw the pictures of the candy canes on the wall at 2:06, I realized I’ve seen at least some parts of the movie before? Very weird feeling, but now I need to track this movie down to watch it again

I was a Netflix child, I think I remember watching this after g4 seasons 1-4 and being very confused because I was a small child who didn’t understand tv reruns
I watched this when i was super little, like 5-6 or even Below maybe. My parents had the CD of it for some reason and i would watch it RELGIOUSLY. I Think id watch it even if it wasnt chirstmas. To this day i Think it was my forst hyperfixation as an autistic kid. And i Also believe whatever god out there Saw me and was like “y’know, what’d be funny? If this person just could never escape MLP, like ever.”
