I don't know if it counts as "lost media", but for years I've been searching for a Chilean "deluxe" box for A Very Minty Christmas (launched in VHS in a hard plastic case from a Paramount licensor instead of a cardboard box as Hasbro used to publish them) I only have the tape itself with its label (from that publisher who never launched cardboard tapes), but there's no evidence of the case even in Internet

When I saw the pony miku figure in the thumbnail I was so worried that the figure ended being unreleased. Glad it was just to represent the visual novel.
One piece of "lost" media I remember is a mlp game where you could make your own pony and then travel through Ponyville doing tasks for some of the main 6, I'm pretty sure it was an official game and I remember being a kid and playing it on my old computer, good times, but I'm pretty sure it got deleted, and even if it had survived, the killing of flash got rid of it for good...

OHH I have a story about My Little Pony live! They were performing a few shows in Indonesia around 2016 (?) and the event organizers reached out to the local brony community here. From what we understood was they were giving us a few preview tickets so we can spread the word around online (I assume because they were touring Asia at the time, and they wanted to tap into the brony market as well). When our group arrived for one of the show they wouldn't let us in because apparently there was a miscommunication between the organizers and our representative. They actually wanted us to help SELL the tickets but they didn't exactly make it clear how until we got there. The venue was kinda far and we spend the whole afternoon in traffic just to get there, so we were already kinda tired and none of us wanted to pay the hefty ticket price :^/ Funny thing looking back, I think even skipped class for it that day LMAO

Hey Shunks , have you ever heard of the MLP webcomic called Kimono's Townhouse ? It was such an iconic piece of art for me growing up . It wasn't made by Hasbro , it was made by someone called Dava Butler . They had a little set and it told the daily happenings of Minty and Kimono , who were roommates , and all the comics were made using G3 model ponies and little set pieces , photographed , and then made into a comic . I'd love to see you do a little video on it , if you feel it's worth checking out !

There is a lot more lost or forgotten media than we actually know about. One thing is for sure, the fandom and it's content, is so large and massive, that it's hard to keep track of it all.
Does anyone remember that one MLP game where you moved into Ponyville and you got the mayor’s office to get ready and set to your house and I think Twilight was there to accompany you? I can’t remember too well but I think it was partially voiced acted (if not the original RUclipsr who uploaded the gameplay did) and was of the same visuals as the tv show? What I recall the most is the ending where the protagonist ends up in Everfree forest and panics about it before trying to calm himself down about it being a dream before realizing he feels cold and it’s not a dream. I remember that’s exactly where the game ended as it was still in development but I don’t ever recall it ever being updated. This was part of my childhood and maybe some others so I do hope it gets found at some point!

to be honest, they probably were big in other, cringier aspects of the fandom. when they grew out of it, realization of what they might be linked to probably convinced them to try to scrub their presence. i feel for the creator on a personal level
I don’t think I’ve seen a lost media video cover fanworks before, but as a person who is very active in various fandoms and has been for 20+ years, I feel… weird about people tracking down “lost media” fanworks. In some cases it’s fine, like with a beloved fanwork going missing because the creator’s computer died or the site hosting it went down, but if it’s a case-like one of the ones in this video-where the creator was ASHAMED of the work and didn’t want it found, then I think their wishes should be respected. I haven’t seen the game myself so I could be wrong, but the summary of that one fan game feels… rather ableist, with the evil mental hospital thing, so it makes sense to me why the creator would feel ashamed of it and not want it brought back. I dunno, I just feel like creators’ wishes should be respected, especially for small time creators who would just rather not have stuff they’re ashamed of floating around.
I agree completely. Yes, it could be ableist, but even if it's not, the artist should be respected. Even if a bunch of people see nothing wrong with it, the artist sees something wrong with it and doesn't want it to be publicly available/attached to them in any way, and it's not like we're entitled to their work, so 🤷
This honestly doesn't surprise me, considering that literally a lot of popular franchises have some forms or other of lost media and sometimes it's not always just one piece of lost media either, and all the info in this vid is proof of that.
Oh so that's where Celestia's interesting request is from. I think I found out about it from someone narrating it in Ponies the Anthology and always questioned where the heck it was from! I didn't question it too much though, it's quite the running theme to have Celestia acting out of character :P
seeing pics from Part Time Job was SO nostalgic. i remember really loving that game and even writing my own, non-MLP fanfic with a similar premise as a kid bc i thought it was so cool. i’m willing to bet it had some…maybe problematic aspects to it given the subject matter, and i can absolutely respect the creator not wanting to be associated with it anymore (for that or any other reason), but i’m still glad to hear it’s available again for archival purposes
coming back to the comments section of this to see if anyone can relate when I was younger (this should’ve been around 2012-13) my autistic self really loved this RUclips fanseries, a documentation of all animation goofs and errors in FiM. set to fanmusic, no commentary but annotations, running jokes in the series such as “blank flank” audio clip playing over a compilation of missing cutiemark screenshots, counting applejack’s freckles going missing too. all I remember of the title is something similar to mlp errors are magic. I keep trying to find them again but I’m pretty sure they got deleted years ago, and I’ve not seen another mention. I really loved watching them, as errors in tv and film are interesting to me & mlp is a special interest. i bet a lot of others would enjoy them too if I could only find them lol

I remember watching playthroughs of Part Time Job back then! I was big into Vocaloid and I watched quite a bit of mlp Vocaloid music videos which are now lost as well. I’m also really intrigued by that mlp live show and Luna and Master Cheif comic (the latter which gives me big Tails Gets Trolled vibes.)
The idea that there was supposed to be an MLP live for friendship is magic isn't too surprising. The original series had a couple live shows that I watched on RUclips when I was younger, so it's not too out of the box to think one was also planned for the newer generation.

Let's not forget Mister Davie/Davey's Rainbow Factory HD, if you look on his tumblr, he released a teaser image/gif of Rainbow Dash holding Scootaloo with the words 'Rainbow Factory'. Under the image it read: "Hey guys :) Thought I’d try my luck on this. Been wanting to do this one for a while, but never had the time to. Regardless, I’m gonna finish this!" If you click on the 'Thought I’d try my luck on this.' link, it leads to his patreon, now I do not have a patreon and I can't see some of his stuff (due to me not being a member or patreon...).. and I doubt that Rainbow Factory HD would ever be released since Davey dropped out of existence
Regrading the Rainbow Ponies special, that "preview" footage was actually used in an advert for the Rainbow Ponies set. I stumbled upon it in a playlist of vintage mlp ads on youtube. The version I first found was non-English, but going back and searching for it, I found an English version: ruclips.net/video/w0AyTYIpZic/видео.html To me, this backs up the theory that the footage was just a placeholder until actual trailer footage was made. Just reusing some spare footage they already had.

Holy shit, I used to love Part Time Job! I remember chatting and being mutuals with the creator on Deviantart in, like, 2013 or so. I completely forgot about them both for a decade. I had no clue that the game ended up going missing. I’m glad it was found from a lost media standpoint, but it’s kind of uncomfortable knowing it’s against ZB’s wishes. I hope they can maintain their peace and privacy.
Lost media is kinda like realistic creepypasta for me. It's kind of creepy that something beloved or a childhood memory might or might not be what you remember since it was lost to time and only tales of them exist until one day someone finds it. If ever.
I'm not sure if people would count this as lost media but: the swedish version of trix up my sleeve witch can be heard during the rainbooms fight in the swedish dub of rainbow rocks is nowhere to be found to listen to which I find sad considering they actually bothered to translate and dub the whole thing, I imagine it's the same for a lot of dubs The swedish version of shine like rainbows from rainbow rocks is also not able to be listened to in full because the first half of it is dubbed over by a voice listing all the swedish voice actors, this is also really sad because the little you can hear of it sounds very beautifully sung and translated (imo), and it's the same for a lot of other dubs as well the swedish dub of the equestria girls better together series + specials like spring breakdown and sunset's backstage pass is not or at least I can't find it available for streaming anywhere and that includes the official swedish MLP RUclips channel, a few of the songs including the intro have been uploaded unofficially to RUclips and 10 minutes of forgotten friendship has been uploaded by the official MLP RUclips channel (not the swedish channel) this is a real shame since now I have proof that it actually exists in swedish somewhere out there but I can't find it, a lot of other dubs including the French one uploads the series to their official RUclips channel but either the swedish one has no plans on ever doing this or haven't gotten around to it yet I honestly do not even know if pony life has a swedish dub since I can't find the intro online or anything else that would prove it's existence but my guess is that it does exist somewhere since it did get dubbed into a whole bunch of other languages this might not matter to a lot of people but to me it's everything, I adore this dub more than words can explain and not being able to find it anywhere is incredibly frustrating and saddening, it's my native language and the dub that I've always watched, what the English voices, songs, jokes etc. are to majority of you guys the swedish ones are to me, if anyone knows anything about where I can find any of these things PLEASE tell me and I will be forever grateful 💗🌈
One of my favorite mlp music artists almost became lost media 😭. Purpleroselyn did a lot of rainbow dash fan covers. Unfortunately, she deleted her channel. Thankfully, I think all of her rainbow dash covers were reuploaded.

Love this video, just like all your videos! I doubt the "Down Memory Lane" episode was a real episode, first draft or otherwise: Firefly and North Star never starred concurrently on the show together. Firefly appears in the specials, but not "My Little Pony n' Friends" and vice versa for North Star. I would hazard a guess it was just unlicensed artwork with names pulled randomly.
There is still some Lost Media. I think there might have been scrapped episodes of MLP:FIM and earlier versions the episodes we might have been today. I do think there was the CMC in the Friendship Speech scene from the series finale. If you find that scene, then alert me. I think Lost Media could be like the piece of the puzzle.
I distinctly remember having a bunch of mini figurines of the mane six, I only have twilight today but I used to have all of the mane 6, the cutie mark crusaders, and either Luna or Celestia. Also the twilight I have for some reason doesn't have wings, so it's from like season 1-2 I think. It came with a huge playmat with the boutique, I remember playing on it.
This doesn't count as lost media but still pretty cool to know. Did you know that there exists a rare VHS (for public screening only) of Runaway Rainbow? Since it never had an actual VHS release, it's obviously an extremely hard to find item.
Did not know part time job was lost media! I remembered I played that game during middle school. Once I realized the game was a horror game (some how didn't pick that up with the intro or the premisis) I shut it off. I remember I grew really attached to Lyra and Pinkamena in that game.
I'm skeptical about the Down Memory Lane episode . . . The people making MLP & Friends definitely wouldn't have known who Firefly was, she wouldn't have been in the show's bible because her toy was out of production. (Same reason she wasn't present in the movie.)
as someone who's been in the vocaloid community for quite a few years now, it was a really nice surprise to see wide knowledge of the late madness referenced in part. it'd be fun to see a game series based on the dark woods circus series. maybe machigerita-p somehow stumbled across the visual novel and requested the creator to stop what they were doing, almost like a hasbro dmca!

It's entirely possible the unknown VHS tape that user remembers was real but it was a bootleg of the episode you cited with a mangled plot summary and random screenshots from other episodes. Though not as common as the DVD bootlegs that flooded the market via online marketplaces in the 2000s, bootleg VHSs did exist and were sometimes ordered by mom and pop video stores.
Unfortunately, not much of these are particularly interesting to me (especially stuff from Gens 1-3). But there is one piece of formerly lost media I recall that wasn't mentioned here, which is the full version of the song Invisible from Equestria Girls. In the special it's from, only a portion of the song is played and is abruptly cut off for the sake of a gag about how long Wallflower was singing. I couldn't find the full version for years until it was leaked later on.

I get so much nostalgia remembering how I used to watch the My Little Pony Tales episodes on RUclips when I was younger (around 2010-2015, I’m currently 16) and not so long ago I searched for them again only to not be able to find any videos about the show ANYWHERE, not only on yt, and it got me so sad. Does anyone remember the name of this mlp video? The only thing I know about it is that I found it on RUclips and it features the G4 characters, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Princess Celestia and Spike (who was dead in the video) The most notable parts I remember about it was that it starts off with Twilight asking Pinkie Pie what she was doing behind a bush, in which she tells her to mind her own business, a part where Pinkie Pie was either licking or kissing Spike's corpse, Celestia pretended that she liked Twilight only to burst into laughter, Applejack being replaced with a box of applejacks cereal, and Pinkie Pie wearing Spike's skin like a costume at the end, causing Twilight to vomit. Of course, the whole animation was drawn in some goofy artstyle.

@@kookyrook4170 still don't know tbh But I can tell the creator was being very thorough about it. All the links that usually work on wayback machine were marked as "excluded". While it isn't difficult to request stuff to be removed from there, it's quite rare for someone to go to that length. Most of the creators I've seen either aren't aware or don't bother with removing archived stuff.

I also recall now a series of prank phone calls done by in character voice actors. and over all any videos by Brony Curiouse, Digibro or TBBBAP or Gibon Take have all had there brony content removed or buried. and I also don't see much any more from cam goes pony or Sound wave I think that's the right name, I forget The Luna covers of songs from Frozen and Hocus-pocus also go up and down a lot I should really run back threw my play lists and see what is even still up. So many things are out there that the uploader was one and done with or where the video was taken down and put back up. I would have to surf threw 100s of book marks and saved channels to find old content but over the past 10 years Ive seen Many channels deleted.

I had the same username as this account. My phone and laptop that had all of those video got broken. I really want to see my old videos but can’t find them anywhere!

I don't know if it counts as "lost media", but for years I've been searching for a Chilean "deluxe" box for A Very Minty Christmas (launched in VHS in a hard plastic case from a Paramount licensor instead of a cardboard box as Hasbro used to publish them) I only have the tape itself with its label (from that publisher who never launched cardboard tapes), but there's no evidence of the case even in Internet

OHH I have a story about My Little Pony live! They were performing a few shows in Indonesia around 2016 (?) and the event organizers reached out to the local brony community here. From what we understood was they were giving us a few preview tickets so we can spread the word around online (I assume because they were touring Asia at the time, and they wanted to tap into the brony market as well). When our group arrived for one of the show they wouldn't let us in because apparently there was a miscommunication between the organizers and our representative. They actually wanted us to help SELL the tickets but they didn't exactly make it clear how until we got there. The venue was kinda far and we spend the whole afternoon in traffic just to get there, so we were already kinda tired and none of us wanted to pay the hefty ticket price :^/ Funny thing looking back, I think even skipped class for it that day LMAO

Hey Shunks , have you ever heard of the MLP webcomic called Kimono's Townhouse ? It was such an iconic piece of art for me growing up . It wasn't made by Hasbro , it was made by someone called Dava Butler . They had a little set and it told the daily happenings of Minty and Kimono , who were roommates , and all the comics were made using G3 model ponies and little set pieces , photographed , and then made into a comic . I'd love to see you do a little video on it , if you feel it's worth checking out !

Does anyone remember that one MLP game where you moved into Ponyville and you got the mayor’s office to get ready and set to your house and I think Twilight was there to accompany you? I can’t remember too well but I think it was partially voiced acted (if not the original RUclipsr who uploaded the gameplay did) and was of the same visuals as the tv show? What I recall the most is the ending where the protagonist ends up in Everfree forest and panics about it before trying to calm himself down about it being a dream before realizing he feels cold and it’s not a dream. I remember that’s exactly where the game ended as it was still in development but I don’t ever recall it ever being updated. This was part of my childhood and maybe some others so I do hope it gets found at some point!

I don’t think I’ve seen a lost media video cover fanworks before, but as a person who is very active in various fandoms and has been for 20+ years, I feel… weird about people tracking down “lost media” fanworks. In some cases it’s fine, like with a beloved fanwork going missing because the creator’s computer died or the site hosting it went down, but if it’s a case-like one of the ones in this video-where the creator was ASHAMED of the work and didn’t want it found, then I think their wishes should be respected.
I haven’t seen the game myself so I could be wrong, but the summary of that one fan game feels… rather ableist, with the evil mental hospital thing, so it makes sense to me why the creator would feel ashamed of it and not want it brought back.
I dunno, I just feel like creators’ wishes should be respected, especially for small time creators who would just rather not have stuff they’re ashamed of floating around.

I agree completely. Yes, it could be ableist, but even if it's not, the artist should be respected. Even if a bunch of people see nothing wrong with it, the artist sees something wrong with it and doesn't want it to be publicly available/attached to them in any way, and it's not like we're entitled to their work, so 🤷
This honestly doesn't surprise me, considering that literally a lot of popular franchises have some forms or other of lost media and sometimes it's not always just one piece of lost media either, and all the info in this vid is proof of that.

when I was younger (this should’ve been around 2012-13) my autistic self really loved this RUclips fanseries, a documentation of all animation goofs and errors in FiM. set to fanmusic, no commentary but annotations, running jokes in the series such as “blank flank” audio clip playing over a compilation of missing cutiemark screenshots, counting applejack’s freckles going missing too. all I remember of the title is something similar to mlp errors are magic. I keep trying to find them again but I’m pretty sure they got deleted years ago, and I’ve not seen another mention. I really loved watching them, as errors in tv and film are interesting to me & mlp is a special interest. i bet a lot of others would enjoy them too if I could only find them lol

The idea that there was supposed to be an MLP live for friendship is magic isn't too surprising. The original series had a couple live shows that I watched on RUclips when I was younger, so it's not too out of the box to think one was also planned for the newer generation.

Regrading the Rainbow Ponies special, that "preview" footage was actually used in an advert for the Rainbow Ponies set. I stumbled upon it in a playlist of vintage mlp ads on youtube. To me, this backs up the theory that the footage was just a placeholder until actual trailer footage was made. Just reusing some spare footage they already had.

Holy shit, I used to love Part Time Job! I remember chatting and being mutuals with the creator on Deviantart in, like, 2013 or so. I completely forgot about them both for a decade. I had no clue that the game ended up going missing.

the swedish version of trix up my sleeve witch can be heard during the rainbooms fight in the swedish dub of rainbow rocks is nowhere to be found to listen to which I find sad considering they actually bothered to translate and dub the whole thing, I imagine it's the same for a lot of dubs
The swedish version of shine like rainbows from rainbow rocks is also not able to be listened to in full because the first half of it is dubbed over by a voice listing all the swedish voice actors, this is also really sad because the little you can hear of it sounds very beautifully sung and translated (imo), and it's the same for a lot of other dubs as well
the swedish dub of the equestria girls better together series + specials like spring breakdown and sunset's backstage pass is not or at least I can't find it available for streaming anywhere and that includes the official swedish MLP RUclips channel, a few of the songs including the intro have been uploaded unofficially to RUclips and 10 minutes of forgotten friendship has been uploaded by the official MLP RUclips channel (not the swedish channel) this is a real shame since now I have proof that it actually exists in swedish somewhere out there but I can't find it, a lot of other dubs including the French one uploads the series to their official RUclips channel but either the swedish one has no plans on ever doing this or haven't gotten around to it yet
I honestly do not even know if pony life has a swedish dub since I can't find the intro online or anything else that would prove it's existence but my guess is that it does exist somewhere since it did get dubbed into a whole bunch of other languages

Love this video, just like all your videos! I doubt the "Down Memory Lane" episode was a real episode, first draft or otherwise: Firefly and North Star never starred concurrently on the show together. Firefly appears in the specials, but not "My Little Pony n' Friends" and vice versa for North Star. I would hazard a guess it was just unlicensed artwork with names pulled randomly.
There is still some Lost Media. I think there might have been scrapped episodes of MLP:FIM and earlier versions the episodes we might have been today. I do think there was the CMC in the Friendship Speech scene from the series finale. If you find that scene, then alert me. I think Lost Media could be like the piece of the puzzle.

I distinctly remember having a bunch of mini figurines of the mane six, I only have twilight today but I used to have all of the mane 6, the cutie mark crusaders, and either Luna or Celestia. Also the twilight I have for some reason doesn't have wings, so it's from like season 1-2 I think. It came with a huge playmat with the boutique, I remember playing on it.

Did not know part time job was lost media! I remembered I played that game during middle school. Once I realized the game was a horror game (some how didn't pick that up with the intro or the premisis) I shut it off. I remember I grew really attached to Lyra and Pinkamena in that game.

It's entirely possible the unknown VHS tape that user remembers was real but it was a bootleg of the episode you cited with a mangled plot summary and random screenshots from other episodes.
Though not as common as the DVD bootlegs that flooded the market via online marketplaces in the 2000s, bootleg VHSs did exist and were sometimes ordered by mom and pop video stores.

But there is one piece of formerly lost media I recall that wasn't mentioned here, which is the full version of the song Invisible from Equestria Girls. In the special it's from, only a portion of the song is played and is abruptly cut off for the sake of a gag about how long Wallflower was singing. I couldn't find the full version for years until it was leaked later on.

The most notable parts I remember about it was that it starts off with Twilight asking Pinkie Pie what she was doing behind a bush, in which she tells her to mind her own business, a part where Pinkie Pie was either licking or kissing Spike's corpse, Celestia pretended that she liked Twilight only to burst into laughter, Applejack being replaced with a box of applejacks cereal, and Pinkie Pie wearing Spike's skin like a costume at the end, causing Twilight to vomit. Of course, the whole animation was drawn in some goofy artstyle.

But I can tell the creator was being very thorough about it. All the links that usually work on wayback machine were marked as "excluded". While it isn't difficult to request stuff to be removed from there, it's quite rare for someone to go to that length. Most of the creators I've seen either aren't aware or don't bother with removing archived stuff.
Oh wow! I remember watching Part Time Job on a channel called BoomGoesMaximus YEARS ago, but I had no idea it was lost for awhile there. Really cool to see it getting mentioned in 2022 lol.

As much as I was in an MLP Fandom back then and saw fan content since 2012, I never played nor seen gameplays of Part Time Job at all.
An MLP fan video I can't find any more is a test video of a CGI Fluttershy walking around a real life house interior where she trots around and looks up at the camera. This Fluttershy has an unsettling hair texture that gives her an almost uncanny feel

I also recall now a series of prank phone calls done by in character voice actors.
and over all any videos by Brony Curiouse, Digibro or TBBBAP or Gibon Take have all had there brony content removed or buried. and I also don't see much any more from cam goes pony or Sound wave I think that's the right name, I forget

I should really run back threw my play lists and see what is even still up. So many things are out there that the uploader was one and done with or where the video was taken down and put back up. I would have to surf threw 100s of book marks and saved channels to find old content but over the past 10 years Ive seen Many channels deleted.
I vividly remember the LOK fandom video, especially the fact that the channel's avatar was a certain Pokemon. Had no idea it's not around anymore.

Y’know, I actually have my own mlp lost media. As a kid, I used to make videos of basically me playing with my ponies, most were of pinkamena as I was OBSESSED with the mlp creepy pastas. I had the same username as this account. My phone and laptop that had all of those video got broken. I really want to see my old videos but can’t find them anywhere!

Thanks for finding my story and bringing it further into the world about the MLP VHS backcard 'episode' prototype. ....To those who may not believe this item isn't real, I personally experienced that strange find. If you want to read the full story, you can go to my website, linked in the description of this video. Also, when experiencing something so odd, you can't remember a lie. It's impossible. What I saw, held in my hand and read the back cover was real and I probably will never see it again.
I don’t know any information, but maybe try to contact someone who worked on the series, I’m sure someone is still alive and maybe they know something about this lost piece of media.
