    It’s outrageous that they knowingly resold a faulty bag. An extremely expensive defective bag at that. Where does it end? Prices go up while quality and service go down. 👎🏼

      Wow that’s messed up they didn’t even send it for repairs and then sell as pre loved market … that is why it’s best to look over bag carefully in store and in the parking lot just to make sure they don’t put another damaged bag instead of the non damaged bag in your box .thanks for sharing .

    Hey Candi! Similar story. When I went to LV with my friend to purchase the Rose Trianon and cream Metis, I was using her CA instead of mine. Her CA got mad when I pointed out tiny rips in the leather. She acted like that was the only one, but then the manager overheard and brought out another one. That one was perfect so I purchased it. Crazy!

    Candi this story is just unbelievable that they would do this.
    Some people maybe get a special Luxury bag maybe once or twice in a lifetime and to have this happen is just the worst!!!
    You are such a good and one honest person Candi and I am thankful you shared this story!!!

    I have LV bags ranging from the 80s until 2015. I can see the decrease in quality over time just by looking at my bags. The bags from the 80s were IMMACULATELY made. Even people who aren’t into high end goods can tell it is crazy well made. I quit buying new LV after my 2015 purchase. I can’t justify that price for bags that have decreased in quality that much.

    Candi, Thank you for this video. I was shown a bag that was supposed to be new but it was clearly a used bag with faults and the flagship mid Atlantic region USA LV store didn’t apologize or blink an eye when I rejected it. I buy vintage now.

    I’m so sorry this happened to you. If it were me and I knew for sure that it was my defected bag I would have told the lady looking at it that you just returned it and why. I definitely would shop elsewhere too.

    Wowwwww!!!!!! The audacity to show it to another client right in front of you and admit it too!! 🤯 Unfortunately I’m not surprised. I know they do that with online orders. A friend of mine returned a Felicie with a specific defect, then reordered another one and was sent the SAME EXACT Felicie that she had just returned!!

      @@LulaWestLuxe girl so many people have told me that has happened to them! That they would order and it have something wrong! Send back and they would send the same one back to them! My mind is always blown away by so many people’s stories! It’s sad bc what an amazing company and the history they originated from for it to be like it is today!!
      Yea I can’t believe they were trying to resell it right then! To be honest I’ve seen it happen more than once on some bags I’ve retuned but they just weren’t as bad as the popped stitches! So it’s not the first time but at least these were issue I didn’t like over the bags like turned s-lock closures and stuff! Maybe it’s not a defect to them but it looks bad on the bags.

      This happened to me!!! I ordered a caramel neo neo online and they sent me the bag WITHOUT the strap! I immediately called and set up the exchange…. Sent it back… and guess what… they sent back the same bag WITHOUT the strap again… they offered another exchange …. but I said no way! Lol they would probably accuse me of stealing straps lol

    That’s a disgrace but it doesn’t surprise me one bit. These stores will sell anything. This is why you have to be careful. And no, it doesn’t matter how much something costs, no one should put up with bad quality.

      Right, we pay any money and it should be made right and if it’s not then I get that stuff happens but don’t resell it! I mean if so disclose the info and drop those prices wayyyyyyyy down! lol!

    It’s not the boutique, Candi! The whole luxury business is that way. 😤 They don’t dispose of the defective goods. They just keep reselling them until they find a customer that doesn’t notice or mind.

It’s my fav lux house and I’m gonna still buy. I will be that one that returns if it’s not perfect or that is looking them over really well before I get to buy!     I had this exact experience at Nordstrom. I took a badly defective sweater back that I bought online. While the sales associate was finishing my return another sales associate took it and hung it up for sale. I nearly died. That particular Nordstrom closed shortly after that. It always felt like it was the place full of all the defectives that were returned by online shoppers, as I saw so many subpar items there that clearly appeared to be returns. I was not surprised when that location closed because it just seemed to be full of returns.

    You know what Candi this incident you witnessed now verifies for me that the SA’s, managers, manufactures in the warehouse do not inspect these bags. That’s why we get popped stitches, crooked pockets, dents in bags etc. they don’t care. They only care about making the sell. There is 100% no way in the world your original bag should have made it out of the warehouse period! When they make these bags why aren’t they looking them over to ensure no defects. Like you said these are luxury bags that cost a lot of money. I’m not paying $3000 for a defective bag. That’s bull. This is why I’ve opted to purchase more preloved. Thanks for sharing this story!!

    Candi, sad to say, they send out damaged items by mail also. My son ordered trainers, when he got them, he could tell they were used. He checks things over meticulously, he called his SA online and they said he should sent them back. He did and could not reorder because at that time they were out of stock. A week goes by, and he sees that they are back in stock so he orders again- they sent him the same pair he just returned!! Unbelievable!! Back they went again!! If I am spending that kind of money- it has to be perfect!

    Thank you Candi, for speaking out about this. I'm sadly not surprised that items with known defects are resold and that LV doesn't give two ***** about doing so, as you so rightly said.
    I had such a terrible experience with the LV brand this summer, (defects in the same bag over and over, zero quality control, horrible 'customer service') where I attempted to purchase the same Speedy BTP edition bag 4 times!!!! (broken zippers being the most prominent issue) that I may be done with the brand completely. The quality issues are inexcusable and how I was treated is another story in itself. My loyalty to the brand and multiple attempts to purchase the same bag in good enough condition to keep (again having to do that for a luxury item is ridiculous!) meant absolutely nothing to LV.
    I shared my feelings of disappointment and consideration of walking away from the brand completely with various LV managers and they did not care. I've been told from a former SA that LV customers shouldn't think they'll be treated any differently purchasing luxury products than mainstream products. Wow. I suppose some are even under the impression that they can sell us damaged items.
    I wrote detailed emails to LV Client Services, attempting to alert them to what seems to be a known issue with the zippers on this particular (and a few other special edition as well) Speedy bag.
    My proactive attempts didn't seem to matter. Quality control doesn't seem to exist or to be a priority. I wouldn't be surprised at all if those bags I received were prior returns and will continue to circulate after I've returned them.
    I loved the colorway of this particular BTP collection so much that I considered purchasing it in a different style bag. I haven't been able to go through with it though, and actually cancelled an order after being treated so poorly and discovering that known quality issues are not being addressed.
    We shouldn't have to feel like we're rolling the dice or taking a risk when we make such a purchase from a luxury brand. The point of luxury is enjoyment and an experience of quality.

    Candi, I am absolutely with you. For the amount of money we are paying for these bags, the SAs should not be so cavalier about the defects, 100%. It reminds me of my own experience receiving the Sunrise Aquarelle Neonoe BB in horrible condition from a boutique in Honolulu. The SA did not care one bit to send me the bag in that condition. This might be such a normal practice at the boutiques that the SAs don't even notice the defects. They might just send to the next customer and keep it moving. Smh. For those who have exceptional SAs, you are so lucky because finding a good boutique and a good SA is not as easy as it sounds. Thanks for sharing your experience, Candi. I would be curious to know if there is any luxury brand whose best practices are better than LV's and who actually inspect their items before they sell them to their customers.       @@candissweetloveforlv I'm like you in that I love LV despite the issues. But the love is feeling more and more unrequited. For example, when I asked the SA that helped me in Honolulu for a non-display bag, she said all the bags on display were for sale and that's what would be available to me. That directly contradicts what you shared about being able to request bags from the factory...I romanticize the luxury experience of buying at the store but buying preloved is increasingly feeling like the way to go. At least I know what to expect and if I get disappointed, it isn't as impactful, you know?

    I bought the pochette Métis east west n the bicolor monogram. I looked it over very carefully before I paid for it. The sa took it to the back to box it up etc. Went back to our hotel and I almost left it until we got home in the box. Then I decided to go ahead and look at it. This bag was OBVIOUSLY used and returned. The leather tab above the clasp was worn in each side and there was a small piece of crumpled paper in one of the pockets!! I couldn’t believe that they tried to pawn it off on me! I was so pissed. I immediately contacted to sa to return it. He told me the wear on the leather was just glue that he could get off. As if!!! If I’m buying a $3,000 plus bag it better not be used and it better be perfect!! I’m going to Paris in a few months and I sure hope I have a better experience there.     Candi, thats😢terrible of that LV store and manager.... it brings no trust to customers, in turn loss of business for them. Remember the melting glazing issue on some of the pochette metis bags...were they reselling those too ? what were they doing with all of those bags ?...also, what if a bag was discontinued yet had a flaw, would they still try and sell it? ...Any quality company selling NEW products should have a company policy same world wide ...of where the damaged goods go to ...and it definitely should not be resold,...EVEN if that lady asked if they had any of those bags, as maybe some people don't care about flaws.... the correct answer from any company especially an elite one should be, =no I'm sorry we do.not have any new of that bag, but we will be happy to order you a new one.

      I don’t know all of those answers bc I’ve heard so many different things they are supposed to do with the flawed bags!
      As far as me reselling, yes I will sell bags that have flaws but I’m selling preloved. They come with a huge price drop! I disclose the flaws and people know up front!! I’m not a store taking in returns and trying to sell as a brand new item for the brand new price! I will say, if I get something in that’s real bad I don’t resell it and that’s just bc it’s not worth the time or money to mess with all of that! Every preloved sites sell bags with issues but gosh at least tell and show. Then if someone wants to pay $1300 for something that would be $2500 if it didn’t then they at least know up front and are happy for the price! Will I buy preloved bags myself with flaws? Nope. I won’t spend big money on anything from anywhere with anything wrong! That is just how I am though!

    Are you sure the SA wasn't just showing the bag to someone. Like, "we don't have it in stock but someone just returned a defective bag. I can show you so you can see what the bag is like."

    Good for exposing this and educating us on what to look for when buying these bags. I hope you reported this to LV up the management lines. This is a management setting the tone of the boutique issue. Would be interesting to see their repsponse on a wider basis. Takes your time, but maybe things can change with making them aware.

The lady told me that online services don’t get involved in, in-store purchases! She said they aren’t affiliated with them! I don’t know. I can’t make sense of what they have going on.

    Last year I ordered a Speedy 20….SIX TIMES!!!!! It took SIX times to get one that wasn’t defective!!! I don’t live near a store any longer so I’m at the mercy of online. The final straw was I returned one …. made a new order… and they sent me the exact same one I returned!!!!

    I think this is something we suspect might happen but to see it with your own eyes is something else. I can't remember which youtuber bought the pochette metis in that oil slick denim (can't remember the proper name for it) at Harrods and returned it because the LV logo was slanted. They told her that hers was the last one and when she looked up online, it was available for sale at Harrods meaning they were selling her returned bag. I hate buying online because I'm always worried something won't be right and I have to have the hassle of returning it in store. I always worry that someone has returned the bag and they are now selling to me hoping that I won't be bothered to return the item due to the hassle or hoping I won't notice or that I won't be "fussy". I recently bought the speedy 20 DE in store and the 1st bag they showed me had a horizontal indentation on the handle (think it must've been pressed against something). I'm sure they would've ended selling it to someone else.
    Its a lot of money and it should absolutely come without any defects in my opinion. Unfortunately it seems that the manager in that store cared more about making a sale than looking after the customer or even upholding the craftsmanship of the LV name.

    😱 Our dear Candi, thank you for telling your unbelievably disturbing experience. 🫶 The Sweet, honest and ethical Candi’s of the world should be owning these companies ❣….This company has been called out before, for reselling ‘returned’ bags😠 I design for many lux bag owners and several of them have stopped purchasing new bags from this company since 2017-18! They said before that, their vintage LV was made with class, caring and customer loyalty. Now it’s just high prices and, well we can now see how they roll😞…..a friend has had good experiences in the Houston store but who knows? Luv that you stand for what is right in the world, earth angels like you help so many🙏🏼💕 ps can you imagine a $11,000p9 speedy being returned and resold defective

    It happened to me too, I returned my Odeon Tote PM when I initially purchased it and they gave me the same bag with the same defect and they pretended that it was normal. I was shocked. And then they finally gave me another one with a different defect but not as bad as the other one, which is the bag tag and thank goodness that it was replaced. But I was still disappointed and frustrated because I had to go back there times. I haven’t returned to that boutique and I am not planning ever. 😃Thank you for sharing.

    Hi Candi. I just stopped by to see what is good and you didn’t disappoint. I love the new bag. Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m hearing so many stories about quality issues. Not just LV but a lot of my favorite brands. But to hear that the defected bag was being re-sold…Just WOW. It’s like luxury is no different than fast fashion now. I have decided to take a break from buying new luxury bags. If I purchase another luxury bag it will be vintage or a Hermes bag. I do like a lot of new bags but I’m just not feeling the quality and the unethical behavior. I totally agree with you. It’s the principle.

    😱😱😱 I cannot get over the audacity of your boutique to do that right in front of you! Geez they couldn’t wait til you were gone? Even though that’s wrong on every level! I thought they sent it back when things were wrong. Sadly I think they all do it and it’s flipping wrong🤬😢 Also when you order from the website they source items from boutiques closest to you first if they have them. I don’t like my Portland Oregon boutique after a few bad experiences and I thought I could get around them by ordering online and sure enough I got an item from that dang boutique 🤦‍♀️🤬 I’ve been buying from the Houston boutique because Winnie, Yota, Autumn.

    I appreciate your video. I've only purchased one bag from LV and had a quality issue. The SAs don't check the bag to make sure it's okay. As far as they are concerned, if you take it, it's on you. The first time, a hole was not punched out of my strap on my Carryall pm so you could not even put the buckle prong through. That had to be returned and another ordered. The second time, I missed the defect. I didn't notice it until like a month later, that part of the glazing was missing. It's black glazing on a black bag and the store lighting is dim, it was easy to miss. Anyway, I still have the bag with the little bit of glazing missing and just kept it and haven't done anything about it. Still haven't decided if it's worth it to bring it in and ask them to repair and possibly have to pay or just say 'whatever'. I've had the bag for 6 months now, so maybe it's just 'whatever'. But Gucci repairs for free for 2 years, so I wonder if I should hold LV to as high a standard ...

    I had to have my high rise bumbag replaced 3 times due to quality issues until I was able to get a good one. Also, the Loop Hobo GM twice due to quality issues. I live close to a boutique so I kept going until they got it right. I work hard for my money so I was not about to sport a defective bag!

    This doesn’t only happen in stores! It happens when you buy from their website also. I purchased this same pink bag 4 TIMES!!! Purchased them all on the LV website. Each one had defects. Crooked top handle, crooked lock, glazing issues, dirty on the inside of bag, exc. it was a terrible experience. One of the bags I returned had a noticeable black spot on the back of the bag with a crooked handle. I purchased the bag again right after returning that one. When I opened the new order, guess what I find?! The same bag I just returned with the same black spot and crooked handle. They don’t care about their customers. LV is trash.

    Wow Candi! 😮 I have not purchased from LV since my manager SA left 3 years ago. I have purchased pre loved. This is suppose to be “luxury”. It’s laughable! I have a small collection of about a dozen & I will just enjoy what I have before I give them any more of my money. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Sigh...why was I not surprised to hear this? Honestly, I'm pretty outgoing and I would've sauntered over to the lady and would've just told her..."Hey, just wanted to let you know, that I just returned that bag because of popped stitches." You said something that caught my attention...does LV have some kind of return quota? I usually order pieces online vs in store and have often had to return the items. Wondering if that'll get me banned. 🤨

    That is abhorrent!! As someone who has spent many years working in retail, and also as a manager, procurer and buyer of luxury goods, this display of carelessness is shocking and despicable. I understand the pressure to make sales and turn over inventory, and I have no doubt that many boutiques do this, but while you were still in the store?? How daft and disrespectful of them. It sends a message like they appreciate your business (did the return), but think you’re just being a diva (the bag was in sellable condition)👩‍🎤

    I remember reaching out to you about my experience through Instagram and how they gave me a bag that was all scratched up from the hardware. The one that was on display is the one that they sold me. I left without checking the box. I thought they were giving me a brand new one, but they did not. When I called him to LV customer service they told me that was unacceptable and I needed to go back as soon as possible in order for the store not to believe that I did it on my own. I had purchased it as a Christmas gift last year and I was not about to open it until Christmas Day, but my husband was the one that wanted to see it and so I made an exception and I showed it to him. He was the one that pointed out all these Defects. When I went back to the to the Costa Mesa California boutique inside Bloomingdale’s, I was shocked when the manager told me that every single piece that they have in store display and all, will be sold. The store loses if they need to return something back to the main headquarters. I have not purchased a bag from LV but I have purchased from resellers like you that’s our honest and tell you how the bag truly is.

    Funny that! Loose and popped stitches are becoming common on those eastwest metis. The first one they brought out for me had popped stiches and a long loose stictches😢 of course is made in usa! Not so lucky with made in usa LV seemed like they dont go thru quality cintrol😏

    Appreciate your honest story and opinion, I completely agree with your statement, it shouldn’t have happened, it was very wrong! The management in the luxury business, they should absolutely not just care about the sale numbers, the money they can make! The quality should always be the first thing they should care and improve, high quality will bring the customers and business into their store!

    Unfortunately, if one store is getting away and doing this, they all or doing it. So so sad. All they care about is making money. The experience I once had 10 years ago, I do not have now. This is one of many reasons I have been turned off by luxury. Is luxury really luxury? I am just as happy with Coach, Dooney, and preloved. The prices and the lack of customer service, and QA is not there. Thank you Candi for this video.

    DOES NOT SURPRISE ME AT ALL. I have purchased (and then returned) several LV bags which had obviously been used before. Please check your bags thoroughly before you purchase them. If purchasing online, check the bag out as soon as you receive it. I remember purchasing a Gucci clutch ( from Harrods). I did not open it for a month. When I did there were stains inside the bag. Harrods refused to exchange or refund me! I was so mad but lesson learnt. Also watch reviews on the bag that you want to buy before you purchase, in order to be aware of faults to look out for. x

    I have issues with every single Louis bag I buy nothing has been perfect. It’s so frustrating. Hardware always has hairline scratches . I just returned that new mini backpack that had black marks on the canvas and scratches all on leather . Hardware I can deal with but not marks on canvas etc 😢

    What an unbelievable thing for that store to do! Gee, most "average" stores would put a defective item off to the side to return to the manufacturer or their parent company. It seems as though LV is money hungry as they know they can pawn off rejects to the next sucker who walks into their store. So thankful you brought this to our attention Candi!

    I will NEVER buy another LV. The piping on a bag only a few months old and used infrequently failed and they wanted to bill me to "examine" it and I was told I would have to pay for the repair as well.

    This is crazy! I also live about 3 hrs from an LV boutique so I used to order a lot online. The first Odeon I ordered had a weird little nick in the glazing on the front right, on the pocket. I took pics, got approved for an exchange and sent the bag back. They then sent me a second bag and guess what - they sent me back the same dang bag that I had returned!!! Same nick in the same spot! 🤬. So I had to wait until a work trip when I was near an LV before I could buy my Odeon and inspect it in person. It’s really not acceptable for what we’re paying.

    I think the sad fact is that they all do it. My very first LV shopping experience, I was looking at a PM and I asked if the bag I was trying on is the one I would take, they said yes. I looked it over and the glazing was terrible, so I told them they would have to order a new one. Magically, they “found” another one in the store after they just told me that was the only one. So, they have various quality level bags in the store and it’s up to the consumer to either accept or reject the bag. Same as with car buying. Does that new car already have a scratch? But to blatantly resell yours while you are still in the store??? Wow.

    I was told the handbags that had issues with them went into “ the back room” for employees to purchase at a discounted price. Sorry that happened to you but on the other hand it’s good you know what they are doing and stay away from them.
    I always ask my CA if anyone has ever bought the bag I’m looking at and returned it. I feel she’s telling me the truth since she has told me bags had been returned

    That is horrible but not shocking. You were asking about what they do with their bags. I watched this guy go to the dumpster and get a few pieces of LV. It's on RUclips. You never know what companies are capable of doing and that's a problem.

    I would feel the exact same way about that boutique. I’ve had problems with the last two bags I’ve ordered online. I went to return the last one to my local boutique and there were defects on all three of the bags I looked at. One had scuff marks on the leather, another one had a lop sided logo, and the last one had very faint embossing. I don’t think they pulled them off of the floor. So sad!

    Good situation to put in your email when they send you a review or whatever it's called. I was in the flagship store on 5th Avenue earlier this year. One of the SA had a demeanor that really bugged me. I pointed out a bag he showed me that was a return because the stickers were missing. He tried to say that it wasn't. What you witnessed is beyond effed up. I wonder what the higher ups would think of this.

    The problem is now Louis Vuitton is being made in the states with minimal to no quality control. There is poor quality throughout the LV items. I’ve purchased LV’s for over 30 years & the items I purchased were made is France, Italy, & Spain. The craftsmen produced works of art. Now these bags are produced in Texas & California. All bags used to have date codes of the country of production, now a tag that says either made in USA or a SA of LV has to scan the bag. I actually went in to my local LV store today and the bag materials felt low quality compared to my bags I purchased years ago. Many products had uneven stitching, popped stitches, uneven closures, and one bag was misaligned. It’s quite disappointing to see the quality go down but the pricing escalate.

    I agree that this is outrageous, but I doubt it was the managers discretion to re-sell it. The company must have the inventory system set up to allow returns to be resold.

    Candi omg 😳 this is just horrible especially for someone who is a novice like me. Who would be nervous to start with and wouldn’t know what to look for. Well I kinda do from watching all your videos. But ugh 😩 That’s part of the reason I like to buy preloved because I expect them to have flaws after years of use. But NOT a brand new bag. It’s upsetting. TFS 🛍️👛🦆🙏🚢

    What a shame for the boutique! I think that most designer houses are only focused on the bottom line! Quality is NO LONGER a priority. They know that their product is highly desireable, and someone will buy it. The only to send a message to corporate is to demand quality and stop consuming theirr product. Unfortunately, long gone are the original companies owned by their founding family, it's all managed by corporate management. Also, in some cases, boutiques could be charged back if they have too much repair/returns. It's so sad!!

    I knew it they did that to me twice never purchased brand new since. Lv workers are liars they sold me a used returned bag twice all plastic removed I even warned them the second time. They love playing in people's faces. Been buying my bags from Japan on ebay never paid more than 300.00 for same bags in used condition 😮.
