The push/pull first exercise shown here helped me immediately!! I’ve been in pain for 2+ weeks and saw my chiropractor for an adjustment without much relief. This exercise helped relieve my pain immediately. I did it 4-5x a day on day 1 and on day 2 I did it 3x and I’m virtually pain free by end of day 2! Thank you for this video!!
I watched another video that provided the same exercise, but it suggested doing it ONLY on the side that is in pain. Say, for me, it's my right side, do I still continue doing the exercise on both sides or just my right side? I want to make sure I do the exercise right to make the issue worse
I started doing these exercises on Sat at 3am because the pain was unbearable and the pain woke me up. After more than one year suffering, I started feeling better the same day. Thank you 😊 thank you thank you. My life is coming back slowly but surely.
My husband was in agony recently with severe muscle spasms and pain in his SI area. He said the pain was a 10 on a scale of 1-10. We thankfully found this video, and he did the 3 exercises with almost immediate relief. After repeating them a couple more times that day his pain was significantly reduced, and he could move almost normally. These exercises are amazing, and we’re so grateful!! Thank you!
He's not exaggerating. I've had my fair share of pain to include a 4" knife gash all the way through my abdominal wall (lost 14" of my large intestines) and the Si was nearly on par with that. When mine hit I fell to the floor and cried it was so bad. How is he now? Mine was a month ago and it's down to a 1, sometimes a 2 if I move alot. Doing exercises to strengthen the entire area front and back. They say weak muscles is what causes it.
It helped me so much! I have buttock pain for 6 months after a fall and now I know I have unstable SI joint. I skipped the first one because I did tried but it doesn't help. I did the rest 3 times for the first day, and another 2 times 1 time each night for 2 nights. Then I don't have a problem standing or sitting anymore! My muscle pain are all gone, and the stretch pain when I squat is also getting better
I am writing this because of many people are not able to find out there real cause of back pain that's why they keep doing exercises which are not targerting their actual problem,so first of all plz findout the real problem with your body or back pain and then only start doing exercises. In my case also i have been doing wrong exercise for a year with no results and then somehow i reached to this video after which i felt 😍 amazing relief in back pain and stiffness.....so very thankful to this video
I am a runner and have SI joint pain from time to time. I found these 3 exercises are trul;y effective as a quick fix. The pain is gone just over night. Thanks so much!!!!!!!
Video went right into the exercises, great, anyone that looks at this clip has looked at many others, and they have already seen the bones, piriformis muscles, and discs.
BEST video out there! Straight to the point. Solid exercises I felt were actually doing something. Cues and instructions were clear. Definitely saving this video for future use. These people know what they are talking about👌🏽 THANK YOU!!!
YOU GUYS!!!! THIS IS INSANE! I've been in pain for months. I've seen my chiropractor, done PT, had massages, even accupuncture and nothing worked. I did the first exercise and as soon as I got up.. GONE! THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS MIRACLE VIDEO!

I'm a skeptic because i tried so many things but I'll be honest if i don't feel result immediately i get discouraged, after 2 years of pain i found this video and had instants relief. I really didn't understand the the true source of my pain but now i know it's my tight SI. Thank you so much for this video it helped me tons.
Thank you, thank you! I have tried so many you tube videos for SI joint and none have worked until yours! Thank you thank you! My si joint has been out for over 6 months!
I can’t express how grateful I am coming across your video and following these exercises. Immediate relief. I’ll be doing these daily from now on. Thank you.
I am currently having physio for this problem. Now I understand visually what's going on. Thank you for the concise instruction its good watching someone else doing the exercises. I have had this on and off for 10 years. As I've got older it takes longer to recover, but I really believe in helping myself to get right.
Thank you for teaching me this SI joint exercises. I will continue to then more often so they can be effective. Thank you for helping us to maintain a stronger lower body by stabilizing the S I Joints.
Thank you, Dr. Oliver. These exercises actually work and my hips and back are starting to ease up for the first time in over a year. I've been to three different doctors and all I was offered was Naproxen. I went to a PT and still wasn't given much help. You have made all the difference, thank you.
Thanks I belly dance with mild spinal cord injury but this first move helped me since I am old now I need to dance like my granny did till she was 97. :)))))))))
I was involved in a 6 car accident 3 years ago ( no broken bones thank God but have cervical and thoracic herniated disc) Had physical therapy for 4 months . Pain gradually resolved . I went back to work no longer able to work inpatient. Outpatient is much better for my overall health but I have noticed since now we are working from home 50% of the time and the rest of the time in clinic my lower back and pelvis aches all the time . I have to say these exercises help a lot And I’ve started Pilates I just want to get back to me without me pain Should I go to chiropractor or continue with exercise This new SI pain has developed April 2020
Thank you for making this video! My SI joint get out of place and it's terribly painful. The doctor said I need to do exercises to stabilize it. These are great!
I have SI pain, got it from digging in the garden, I was skeptical, but I tried the first exercise and it felt like it helped a little. I am going to do all 3 exercises during the week. At least now I can target my problem area. Thanks for posting.
I’ve had SI pain since being pregnant with my first kid 4 years ago. All the stretches and such never helped. I’m very excited to try these exercises! Really hoping they help
Pressing my knees lightly into the foam roller eventually brings pain in my lower back. I know my Si joint is source of some of the pain I am experiencing. But, I have MRI imaging that has shown a herniated discs between my L4aL5- S1. I am going to continue to use the band to do the one exercise. Thank you.
I couldn’t walk sit or stand after having excruciating pain yesterday. Was skeptical these exercises would work right away given I am 16 weeks pregnant and things are unstable. However I did the first one, heard a pop and felt instant relief. My region still needs to be strengthened but I have regained ability to walk sit and stand without excruciating pain. Thank you.
The "free" PDF isn't free, you have to subscribe to RUclips Premium, which I certainly can't afford, so that is disappointing. However, I liked the video enough to subscribe, and did find a smidge of relief even after doing just the first exercise, and I plan to continue doing two of the exercises. I used a myofascia ball instead of the tube, which I found much more convenient than the heavier, bulkier tube. Also, the ball is inflatable; I can control its firmness. I found the video very easy to follow, and very much appreciated see the joint model and the explanation beforehand. Despite the doctor saying to skip the first exercise if you know your problem is instability, I did it anyway, benefited from it, and here is why: I suffer from significant hypermobilitiy. All of my joints are unstable, but with hypermobility, I have concurrent tightness in muscles both near and far to the joints, as they struggle to do work in ways they sometimes aren't meant to. Also, it impacts the nerves, which sometimes impacts signals to some muscles, which is what is causing my leg to collapse under my weight today. Really a mixed bag! So, although I knew my SI problem was instability, I did the first exercise anyway. Before I did it I needed crutches to walk because my leg was just collapsing under me and the pain was significant. I skipped the second exercise because I have gotten strained back muscles after doing this one previously. (I will try it in a few weeks, after I have been working on my core muscles for a while.) After I did the first exercise I was actually able to cautiously walk down the hall without my crutches to grab my ball and bands for the third exercise. I have only done the one session so far, so obviously I haven't yet built any new stabilizing muscle tissue! But I can say that I had no problem doing the third exercise.
15 years of a tight glute medius due to SI joint just fixed in 3 days! Kept tearing calves and hamstrings, turning ankles regularly. I must have seen more than 10 physios/chiropractors in that time. Is this too good to be true ? Thank you
Dr Oliver thank you for your wonderful exercise I have been in SI. Joint pain for about 6 month walking, sitting standing was problem and I have tried a lot of exercise it doesn't work but your second and third exercise has worked for me tremendously should I continue till when

I did this like 5 times, thought this is bullshit. Didn't feel anything, got up and walked into the kitchen. OMG big difference. I couldn't believe it.
Hi Deanna. So this stabilization worked for you and how long did you do these exercises why he band and roller? Thank you and God protect and Bless each of you stronger better health🙋
Thank you for this video. I broke my ankle and that healed but I still had pain in my leg and back, so I had surgery for herniated disc. I still have pain in my leg and back and the doctor told me it’s my S1 joint. I hope this works because I don’t feel the surgery helped me.
The two first exercises are amazing. On the third one as I’m lowering my leg, I get cracking sounds in my pelvis on the posterior / back side. Like crack-crack, then stops. Should I continue doing it? What does the sound indicate? 🙏🏻
My popped too. I do beluevebuts ok. I remember before my SI got sick I use to do these and I was allright. But how many do we do each day and when will we feel true strenghth and healing? Thank you all so much. Yourre all very kind to help us.
SI joint is very painful especially after been on my feet or walked for a few minutes and it feel like a knife stabbing on the side, I have this issue on my left side of the pelvis. I will definitely get on with some of these exercises before my next appointment with a chiropractor. One question, does cycling affect or cause the SI to go out? Thanks.
Very good. However the final exercise is unbearable for me. And I’m normally a guy who does core exercises on a regular basis including bicycles, planks, sit-ups, etc. However, 5 days ago I randomly got pain in SI and lower back. No idea how it happened since it wasn’t sudden pain during an activity. Now I can’t even lift my legs into that position you mentioned in #3 exercise. I can lift one leg at a time but I can’t get both legs off the ground with calves parallel to floor. Any suggestions? Thanks!

My lower left back has been extremely tight for over a year on and off, also pain in behind the ball and sockcet joint in my hip. Done the first exercise and its seemed to ease off a little. Hope it holds up
Glad someone actually has the exact same issue as me. How are you feeling now? I have had this for just about a week, thanks to my chiropractor who told me I had an issue with my SI Joint.
Dr. David Oliver so I am doing the stretching because I have sciatic nerve pain and so as I am doing them . I feel a burn like if I had a heating pack on my lower back right about spot it feels weird but I'm going to keep on
This relives my buttock pain, i dont have pain in the SI joints but lower back right side (have a shorter leg 17mm and rotated pelvis). 2 year i can t do a child pause without a spasm in the lower verterbrea. Could this be a symptome of si joint instability? Can t remember how many physio massage tissue chiro i ve seen in 2 years
I have been having SI instability for YEARS (on and off). I have an inversion table, but as good as it feels for my lower and mid back, it unfortunately does nothing to help me with my SI. In fact, if my SI is “out” being on the table makes the pain worse.

I would recommend finding a good chiropractor. I've had SI dysfunction and other back issues for 4 years now and I finally found a chiro that gives the right treatment
@@noahkeefer9476 those are hard to find they all seem like making money the diagnosed me with si joint tilt and I went for 4 sessions all he did was put a massage machine on my back every time and told me he will show me exercises soon but than I left cuz I though I was being ripped off
Great Video!! Thanks :) Quick question regarding unstable SI joints: How do exercises that focus on muscular toning... correct instability due to laxity in the ligaments?
The push/pull first exercise shown here helped me immediately!! I’ve been in pain for 2+ weeks and saw my chiropractor for an adjustment without much relief.
