  • Finally, we get an AWD, 2.0 litre turbocharged Tiguan. With an extended wheelbase, it now offers 7-seater capacity, and 220 horsepower.
    Power-hungry drivers will appreciate what this SUV can do. We check it out on our favourite road to see what it can do.

  • @Altruistic00
    @Altruistic00 4 года назад +4

    Sorry for being slightly critical Uncle but I'm not targeting only you but more in general, I just wish motoring journalists would stop saying something along this line 'for this XXX price, there's really not much to complaint about this car' when they've omitted something like safety features, or infotainment, or even interior trims. We should demand more from these car manufacturers instead of giving them a pass. Call them out when they've purposely leave out on some features or trims when compared to cars sold in other countries. We're already paying thru our nose for their cars + services. Not like they're going broke if they included all those extra bits.
    Just my mini rant/2 cents.

    • @YSKhongDriving
      @YSKhongDriving  4 года назад +11

      No worries- ranting is allowed. It's either half full or half empty, but same!
      Car makers spec up their products to appeal to different audiences and there is always a price- value proposition. Not all products should have all features and not all buyers want all features.
      One man's meat is another man's poison.
      Let me give you an example or two.
      On a personal level, there are many features that I do bot need, and in that case, I am happy if the car does not have them, in which case I pay less.
      Each product apoeals to different people for different reasons.
      So should I rant at Perodua for introducing the Axia without AWD? Or 4-wheel steering? Or Adaptive suspension? Or LSD?
      I guess you get the point.
      That is why, dear sir, you are entitled to your opinion, while others are also perfectly entitled to theirs.
      We review cars. You can watch or decide not to watch the various channels. You can review cars too, if you want. Then others will decide if they want to watch your channel or not.
      That was my 2 cents in return.

    • @Altruistic00
      @Altruistic00 4 года назад +3

      @@YSKhongDriving Telling me to go review cars my own is such a poor form & rebuttal from your end & I'm honestly quite disappointed with that reply.
      No where have I said anything about a low priced car like Axia needing to have awd or 4 wheel steering which you're completely just being obtuse. You're completely missing the point. Motoring journalist have the power to educate/inform buyers of the techs/features and influence the manufacturers to include certain features to make the car better.
      So I don't get why you're so against them including more features when they can easily do it? The cost is for them to worry about & if you (or others) can demand for lower price+better features, more power for the buyers then. Sure people might not need/use every features on the car but it's good to have + others who does need it will have the options too instead of having to stick with the lowest common denominator.
      It's ok. I'll still watch whichever channel I want to don't worry about that. I hope they'll continue to lend you more cars to review positively. Have a good day.

    • @aeroline11
      @aeroline11 4 года назад +2

      It is hard for car manufacturer to spec up like what they did in other countries. The price is high in Msia mainly attribute to high taxation and excise duty from government. Many people thought the car manufacturers or dealers made huge profit. In fact nowadays car dealers make probably less than 10% of gross profit per car.
      To determine the price it involves many aspects such as exchange rate, transportation charges, CKD infra setup, target customer segments etc. No offend but I find most people complain here aren't afford to buy the car but they keep complaining here and there.
      People like me buying a B8, that's 200k car but it comes without AEB, ACC and blind spot. There is a better option such as X70 comes with more safety features with lower price. But it doesn't affect my determination to go for the B8. The driving dynamic, powerful engine and roomier space contra off the shortness.
      We understand it is good to have 220ps, dsg, 4motion, DCC, AEB, ACC, blind spot, 360 camera and better off the price below 200k. But in reality it just doesn't happened since msia charged high tax and excise duty.

    Value wise, based on performance alone it'll be much better than XC40. But unfair to say due to price and segment difference.

      It is bigger, to start with.

      @@YSKhongDriving replying to that, it seems VW neglected the driving assist as what overseas market getting. Well, understandable due to pricing though.

      Car makers have to sometimes decide on what they need to put into a car to make it appealing. Thus it is up to the buyer to make the choice, based on his or her need and affordability.
      That is why a 'perfect' car for one person could be another person's nightmare.
      It's like making doughnuts. You have to make conscious choices.

    Uncle, between XC40 and this Tiguan, which one is better? I know dsg is fun compare to 8 speed torque converter of XC40..how about others?

      This Tiguan is a 7- seater. The XC40 has other qualities, but size is not on its list. Choose the one that most suits your requirements, including the cost price. The Tiguan is ckd, so is more affordable.
