Humiliation was my first thought - but then they said only female DNA was found at the crime scene (8:15) which makes my suspicious mind wonder whether tearing / removing the victim's clothes was something that a female killer did deliberately to make everyone assume a man did it.
That might also fit with the detail that the victim had a "man's shoelace" around her neck but had been shot, which suggests an attempt to strangle her with the shoelace but then shooting her when that wasn't working. A thin cord like a shoelace would require a lot of effort, sustained over several minutes, which a woman might struggle to do.

@@RedheadLondon You'd fight like a tiger if you thought you had nothing to lose. Mark 'em up, good and proper, so even if they succeeded in killing you they'd have some awkward explaining to do.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I think there was more than one killer. Attempting to strangle someone with the shoelace, presumably from behind, and then swapping to a small-calibre gun to finish the job from the front (she was shot in the heart at close range) just doesn't seem like the way a solo assailant would go about it. As you say, someone who already knows you're trying to kill them (the strangling being a pretty big clue) isn't going to co-operate while you change weapon and adjust your position.
The gun only makes sense (imho) if the strangulation wasn't working; it feels more like a second person decided to step in and finish it. If the gun was the intent all along then surely you'd lead with the gun, and not faff around with the strangling first? (shrug)

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that her husband may have had an affair or a crazy ex who kidnapped his wife and killed her and tried to throw off suspicion by making it look like a sex assault. That might explain why their was only female dna. There was a female police officer in the US that did that and totally got away with it for over 20 years until the cold case unit looked at the case again. The murdered woman’s father said all along he thought the jealous female police officer did it but no one would listen to him. The victim had been shot and the cop “conveniently” reported her service weapon stolen the week after the murder but you guessed it, the cops ignored that too. They had her dna all along because she had bitten the victim. It just took over 20 years for someone to compare it to her. She was arrested at her own police station by her fellow officers while she was on duty!

      @cygnals524 2 года назад

@Angela Theriault & @Lauren the Stephanie Lazarus case is insane! I studied that case extensively. You can watch the interrogation of Stephanie Lazarus & it is fascinating. You can literally watch her devolve over the course of an hour as she slowly realizes she was caught ... after 23 years of her thinking she got away with it. The entire case was disguising. She worked in the same area all the evidence was kept for the murder she committed along with other murder evidence. ALL of the evidence that would have convicted her was GONE! She probably thought it was never going to come back to her. The only reason they got her is for some strange reason the swabs from the bite sample got misplaced and was in a different freezer at the coroner's office
than the place if was suppose to be in. Yes, she ditched the gun but she also managed to make sure plenty of other evidence disappeared. When they found Sheri's BMW they found several dark hairs in the car and Sheri was blond while Stephanie has dark hair. She stalked that poor women both in and out of her uniform and even showed up at the hospital she worked at, starting a scene which resulted in Stephanie having to be taken out by hospital security and others had heard her say if she "couldn't have him, nobody else could have him." Stephanie does have some crazy eyes as well and Sherri kept telling family and friends a women disguised as a man with crazy eyes was stalking her. Stephanie also randomly followed her while in her cop car when she was on duty And she actually broke into their condo a few times and Sheri came home once while she was in their condo ... alone ... in her uniform with her gun to greet Sheri. In the 1980s stalking wasn't taken that serious, especially when done by a woman. That interrogation is fascinating to watch, especially the JCS version because he explains the psychiatric issues she displays and the significance of how she answers or tries to carry on about issues meaningless to the case. They did an episode of 48 hours, people magazine investigates, and s few other shows on it afterwards. She makes some bizarre facial expressions at one point and the narrator explains when she is trying to do self soothing types of behaviors by answering a certain way. One thing they mention was called "terror management theory" which was interesting. Another person posted all her work journals online and some were around the time of the murder a few are humorous because they would send her out undercover as a hooker to bust Johns in sing operations and she did the worst out of all the female cops ROFLMAO Her boss even mentioned it to her that she needed to work harder at getting guys to pick her HAHAHA She also worked with one of the slime ball cops who beat up Rodney King. She seemed to be with like minded losers. Sorry for the long rant on that case, just seeing it mentioned brought it all back up to me. I studied her interrogation and that entire case thoroughly. They tried to bury it and blame it on 2 Mexican guys when the only thing stolen was their marriage certificate and her BMW which was what her husband bought her for a wedding present. I guess any corrupt idiot could be a homicide detective in LA during the 1980s. You are right that the Dad thought it was her all along and any time he called or talked to them they told him he watched to many police TV shows which is so disrespectful. All the records of him calling or talking them disappeared and they had over 100 hours of interview tapes that all disappeared as well. I am still shocked nobody else got in any trouble over all the missing evidence. That is just insane. She was arrested after that interrogation and the ball was set do high because of the DNA evidence she never got out of jail and has been locked up ever since that morning.

People with migraines don't always look at the description since the black type on a white background can be painful at times, but flashing images can cause migraines for people with migraines disorders as well as seizures for people with epilepsy. Please don't take this as a complaint, I don't expect people to automatically know these things. It's only by people speaking up that people learn about & become aware about some things. It is clear from your warning in the description that you genuinely care about your viewers. Thank you.

It turned out they were in debt, and he wanted her dead for the insurance money, and he had ran her off the road. You have to look close to home in these murders, first.

I have to wonder how closely they looked at the husband in this business. His behaviour seems strange and, if he wasn't directly involved in the murder, it may have been an enemy of his that targeted his wife. The carabinieri don't have a good reputation for competency when it comes to investigating crimes like this. You have to wonder as well how much they missed or how many palms may have been greased to look the other way.

No big deal at the time, just wanted to see if she was there. Maybe he questioned his own observation of her coming into the parking garage at this point. I'm sure he was thoroughly investigated at the time. It's clear she was targeted but for what reason I'm not sure we will ever know.

There may have been fingerprints on the steering wheel or they would have known that someone else may have been driving if the wheel had been wiped clean. Perhaps those responsible for her death had met her earlier and before drawing suspicion they returned her car to her home as they could have known where to take it from her identification she probably had on her.

1:07 The husband looks out of a window in the apartment and sees his wife's car drive up to the garage.
1:42 The husband goes to the garage and is confused when he finds her car parked next to his? Then he runs his hand over the hood to feel if it is warm?
This doesn't make sense. In another article I read on this case, Lea was out showing jewelry to a friend and told that woman that her husband doesn't know where she is and is probably worried. When she left that woman friend's home, that is the last time she was seen.
So did her husband watch her drive into the garage and when she didn't come inside, instead of going out to the garage and looking for her there, he calls her parents?
Edit: Her parents lived "on the same landing". So they lived close. He was apparently home since if he had parked next to her car, he wouldn't be surprised to find it there. And the garage was approximately 5 meters from her front door.
Also, why didn't she call her husband from the friends house? Telephones were hard to get in Italy in the 1980's. A friend of mine said he was on a waiting list for 6 months and still didn't know when his phone would be installed.

The murder had a connection with her job, not with her husband. She was seen followed by a different car before she drove home, and she was seen driving a different car durino the day.

6.35 calibre gun ? DAMN, thats HUGE!, ...unless you mean 6.35 MM, which would make more sense, that would then be a .25 calibre, the `50 Cal`, a well known huge round, is a ` .50 cal ` (point five zero), so therefore a 6.35 Cal ..., well, i think you see the point, that would be damn near an artillery shell, there would be no head left at all to identify her, or worse, definitely only DNA. Hope the feedback helps for future vids. The Monster of Florence was a great episode too btw, well done, very professional job, thank you for all the great content, really great channel . 😎👍🏾

I can solve this one, of course it's the husband! He saw her driving up the driveway but calls around for couple hours until reporting her disappearance??? Hes lying! Kill for hire, making it look like a sexual assault or he did it himself!

Her husbands story does seem weird. If you saw her car pull into the garage and she didn't come inside. Why didn't he go check the car first? Unless he maybe he thought it wasn't her when she didn't come home. So when he checked the hood of the car he knew that it was her car he saw driving to the garage.

M Oliver no no he didn’t see her pull into the garage, she clearly reports he saw her coming into the area of their home (meaning coming down the street near their home)

Most likely she was well-aware of her fate and went along with the person, and the Executioner most likely gave her a final lunch there and then finished her off quickly

The husbands behaviour is weird. If you think what takes her so long to come up from the garage the first thing you do is going there
and look after her. But he took his sweet time phoning around. Thats BS imho and just more about establishing a alibi for himself.
On the face of it this is a planned murder without motive, which is a thing that never happens. A crime like this always has a motive.
Find it and it will lead to suspects.
So,as police you have to dig around deeply on all persons surrounding the victim at least for several weeks before the crime happened.
Qui bono. Who gains in any form from this death.
Well, imho, this looks more like the husband placed a hit one her than anything else.
