The new E-Class: A bridge between tradition and digitalisation
Stuttgart. For over 75 years, the E-Class has set the standard for mid-range luxury saloons. In 2023, Mercedes-Benz will open a new chapter for the business saloon: the new E-Class points the way in the transition from the combustion engine to electric drive. At the same time, its new electronics architecture allows a comprehensive digital user experience. The first saloon models of the 214 series will arrive at the
European sales partners in autumn 2023.
The new E-Class (length/width/height: 4949/1880/1468 millimetres) has the proportions of a classic three-box saloon: the short front overhang and long bonnet are followed by a greenhouse which is set well back. The passenger area is generously dimensioned, partly owing to the two-centimetre longer wheelbase (2961 millimetres) compared to the preceding series. The luggage capacity is up to 540 litres.

It’s equipped with a 204 HP 4 Cylinder in-line engine which produces 320 Nm of torque 9G TRONIC automatic transmission

2024 New E300 E-Class W214 0-100 km/h (62mph) can be reached in 6.4 seconds!
The top speed VMAX is electronically limited to 236 km/h (147 mph)

Funny that you say that, for me they are horroble looking 😅 like from a chinese car. I like the front and the sideprofile but the rear lamps have nothing to do with typical mercedes design.

I like the Amg model but for some reason the base model looks more elegant with the setup.
Its called exclusive line for a reason i guess haha

I think the AMG model is going for more of a sportier aggressive look, but a little less elegant

that's the idea... they're meant to look elegant/luxurious while the AMG line is meant to look masculine and aggressive.

That silhouette is promising. The interior's a good look. Understated, tasteful, elegant - definitely E-class in this current line-up. Hopefully, this ethos carries on on the outside.

I love the classy elegant look of the standard model with the classic chrome trim, grill and most of all the standing Mercedes star !

I was never a fan of the E-Class, rather Merc would lend all the glamorous touches to the C and the S- the E always felt like a deserted child when it came to styling. But hell yeah, this is what it needed. Love it- and those emblems everywhere, wooohoooo!

Every time I see the complexity of these new Mercedes I wish I still had my 1994 E320 Coupe.
Have been struggling with Mercedes-Benz design in recent years but this is a step in the right direction...

For the first time in a while I'm starting to like Mercedes again. Love this new look. I hope the build and material quality on the inside is good too. And also, a lot of things should be standard now since cheaper Chinese cars give things like radar cruise as standard. Even city cars have such things standard so that would be great to see. It now actually looks different to a C Class. And hopefully it comes with a 6 cylinder diesel.

@@mr.benz I like to see more about the interior material and build quality. Specifically the lower parts of the doors by the door pockets and the lower half of the dash board like the glove box lid. Those were all soft touch in previous models. Is that still the case here?
It’s not just about standard but quality , materials and feel. But I do agree some things should just be standard

@@jalaludeenikramjibrin1652 I still have a Mercedes. A 2014 W212 E Class. I wanted to replace it many times but every single new Mercedes product I test drove felt like a step down. The new C Class feels cheap. The W213 E Class also feels a bit cheap and it doesn't actually look good in my opinion. The current 5 series feels a whole lot better than the W213 E Class. Even a Jaguar felt better than the W213. This new W214 seems like it could be a return to form from Mercedes. So I truly hope the interior build and material quality is better than their current products.

Finally MB coming back to serious elegance… After all these years thinking that the E-Class was a failure, I believe it has been saved. Which is good, more car brands should also make their lower tier cars more appealing… I understand that it’s a business but it kinda feels like some car brands make their cheaper cars ugly on purpose instead of making the expensive ones better.

I had the E-Class (2018) and bought right now the E-Class Coupe (2022). I have a big problem with MB now: the electronics. The new EQS is a desaster because of the building quality & electronics. I hope the new E-Class will be better but I already saw a few elements inside that look similar to EQS... in this case: would not recommend to buy. At least the version 2024.
I’m a multiple E class owner and also the previous gen S class twin turbo V8. I like this new E class but I am very concerned with the electric pop out door handles and the turbo 4.

Yes, the EQS hyperscreen infotainment is horrible & I also told the MB engineers about it but the new E-Class is soo good! No more laggy systems, this one runs smooth & I am seriously thinking about getting one myself after driving it now 😍 I would just recommend you to test drive it & make your own opinion before comparing it to the other models
@@At_the_races I’m really concerned about that. My E classes and S classes I have owned have been fairly free of electronic problems. I had a 2019 GWagen AMG G63 but didn’t have it long enough to have any problems. But I did experience nagging electrical problems:
My A/C, sunroof, air suspension, wipers, and lights were all functional but the electrical systems managing them were problematic.
Mercedes-Benz is bending to the whims of journalists and reviewers rather than its owners. We want luxury and performance not at the expense of silly useless electronic gimmicks. I really really hate the electric door pop outs - just waiting for a $1,500+ repair.
I do like this vehicle a lot, Mercedes has always built wonderful vehicles and have always kept up with the latest technologies. I prefer the AMG line, I look forward to your review of the infotainment system.
