Good demo!!! I just bought 3 pedals from Behringer....Tube overdrive, phaser, vintage delay ( and some new cables)....and spent under 100 bucks. My MXR Dyna Compressor pedal cost more than all 3 of the Behringer pedals combined. I generally avoid cheap stuff but every video these things sound fantastic!! Ive wanted a phaser to get that Waylon Jennings sound and since they are so cheap I was able to grab a vintage delay slapback echo pedal to enhance my Johnny Cash sound. Then what the hell...I bought the Tube overdrive too. All for about the same price I would have paid to buy 1 pedal I wanted ( MXR Phaser 90).

Just picked up a TS808 😁 In this video, both sound too similar to say one is the hands-down winner. Why did I pick the TS808? Because it looks like it can take a lot more abuse and I'm not very gentle on my pedals lmao. The feel of greater durability was the selling point for me. You could fiddle with the knobs on both and get very similar sounds, similar enough that at a gig and in a mix, only the most trained eara could tell the difference. Rock on 🤘

the only thing is likely gig durability. plastic VS cast pot metal. If your gonna gig 1-3 times a week the original is likely more durable. but sound for sound very tight. the TS 808 was slightly warmer.

  • @HelterSkelter117

Nothing beats the original, but I have to admit, the Behringer held its own. The only thing I noticed was a bit more noise when the Behringer was engaged. Why is it that most people who do overdrive demos always avoid going all the way up with the overdrive level? Datz what we want to hear. Well, at least one key factor. You don't have to prove what an authentic roots rocker you are. Just crank that bad boy up and let us decide if we want to go all the way up with it or not.

I've got it.. They sound different yet the circuits are the same, almost.... Here's why, they both have buffers, neither is true bypass. Swap them around the other way you should get the same differences in reverse.. Worth a try..
The circuits are not quite the same.. The Behringer T0800 circuit is an exact copy of the original Ibanez Black tube screamer which is rare and goes for big bucks.. Ask Josh Smith... He will tell you the same thing...... Don't underestimate the Behringer T0800.

Totally agreed. They sound almost exactly the same as their rivals, arguably better. I have the Behringer case/pedalboard with 6 pedals, DigitalMultiFX, GraphicEQ, HeavyDistortion, SuperFuzz, PowerOverdrive, and this one, the VintageTubeOverdrive. Pedals & pedalboard, £200. Absolutely amazing. One of my best buys ever.
Same configuration with Boss/Ibanez pedals would have cost me around £600. The difference is £400, which is the price of an Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plustop Pro, which i would rather prefer to spend my money on, and i actually did.

    • @Crypticmaskguitar

I've always found that Behringer's Clones have been well made! at least sonically... I typically like to get the "Original" version of a good pedal and then some clones. It's always fascinating to see how other companies interpret different pedals! I'll always tell the truth in that the TS808 sounds better than the clones (at least the ones that I have), however, it's not by much. It just has the right amount of character and it's just slightly "fuller". That being said... that doesn't always translate in recordings and you will sound just as good with the clones!
