    OMG!! You had me cracking up at "Good Lord...problem is she sucks!" 🤣 As an Indian-American, I just have to say you hit all of the key points perfectly. Can't believe you packed all that info into less than 10 min. You had the history right, the people's personalities nailed down, & the reasons for folks having issues with the show correct. Super thorough and well-thought out review.
    It was definitely an entertaining reality show. There are unbelievable moments (Akshay & his mom come to mind as does the scene where Aparna is sulking about only visiting 40 countries). But, it was good for the issues (such as sexism, colorism, casteism) that many Indians face in this situation to be spoken about openly.

    Here in India some woke people are upset about how this show is shown but this is definitely India.Patriarchal ,Colourisn all exist.These people are a bit too much but still it exists and people should not deny it .If anyone doest like it then try to bring some changes.All cultures have good and bad things and I love India but accept what's wrong

    OMG best review yet. I laughed so hard on this one. Absolutely loved this show and would have of course sprung for the 4.5 stars. And the only reason I don’t say 5 stars is because of the lack of closure. Akshay with the driiiip! And GCO on the last girl, and GCO on Ankita. She (Ankita) would probably be my friend in real life. Nice one, Tait!

    Ok just one line of defense for Aparna she told Sima that she wanted a guy who was an introvert, intellectual and not much into comedy. However Sima told her that she needed a guy with a sense of humor despite her repeatedly saying she didn't. On the date with Srini he mistreated her this part was not shown on purpose which caused her mother to get angry. Also she clarified that all of her dates went on for more than 55 minutes. And all she felt was that the guy should have shown interest in getting to know her rather than the waiter on their first date. She also mentioned that she also speaks to waiters and even has friendly long conversations with them. Also she said that the show was scripted to show only a few glimpses of the her dates to make her seem like a bad person.

      That’s a lot to cut out of a show but if that’s what she says...but the viewer would have to dig all that up. What’s displayed on screen is not flattering for sure.

    Tait's Take, Thank you for your crystal clear views about this show 👏 Of course the perspective of Seema is very skeptical, in fact she has been judged a lot for representing the Indian Marriage Institution which is fair. Inspite of being educated rich and elite people from different regions are still picky about caste race and Patriarchal approach. Choosing life partner on the basis of skin complexion is shameful but for some it is a priority, which is obviously wrong. The psychic character shown is very judgemental and comes with the baseless comments on the horoscope. Well, keep reviewing the content. Good Work & Good Luck 👍

    people have their sexual preferences. we cant label everything as racist or discriminatory if they ask for lighter or darker skin tone. and if i marry with dark person it does not make me progressive. when skin tone generalize the beauty standards and darker skin tone considered as ugly then it is the problem. but as life partner he/she has every right to choose person with dark skin tone or light skin tone. if family demands girl with lighter skin tone or something then it is colorism.

    • @TaitsTake
      @TaitsTake  3 года назад

      Didnt call it racist. But it’s a slippery slope for sure and one not uncommon.
