I have a thought. If Benedict is going to have an existential crisis, ala who am I, maybe he will let himself go a bit and get really slobby and gruff looking.
I think they are going to have the Masquerade Ball where Sophie and Benedict meet and it is there that he decided he needs to pull himself together to look respectable for when he finds his lady in silver. That could be where his glow up comes in for season 4!

Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton confirmed a few days ago that they will be in Season 4 ❤ That's good news. Romance or not, Bridgerton is not the same without Pen and Col, they have always been there!
That makes me wary that they might do Eloise next. Colin and Penelope would play a big role in her story. They also said they had to move up Penelope’s story as the ladies couldn’t play teenagers for too long. I hope we get Benedict’s though

@@missylarissy8114 that was my thinking too but Claudia Jessie is in her mid 30s and I don’t know if they will be able to keep Pen and Colin in the story for another two seasons. I hope they can! I much prefer the characters not being teenagers and I really like show Pen and Eloise’s friendship!

I don't see anyone in the comments talking about this but at the end of the video they mention how queen charlotte may not return in season 4 because something could happen to her in season 3. I hope they're not going off historical facts when Queen Charlotte passed away in 1818, because this season takes place in 1817-1818 right?! I hope they don't kill her off because she's an icon 🤞

I wouldn't be surprised if they tied in the meet cute of Benedict and Sophie in Season 3, as it did happen at a masquerade costume ball, focusing on Benedict's view of it so the viewers get a taste of his future, mysterious lady. Then going more into Sophie's side of it in Season 4 since there is a short time skip between their meet cute and when Benedict finds her again as a servant.
But based on current information (as season 3 isn't out yet), they might just save the meet cute for the first episode of Season 4 and change things up story wise. They did it with Pen and Colin, taking the 'matchmaker' storyline from one of Julia Quinn's earlier novels "Minx". It's exciting to see what will happen.
Fans will throw hands with Netflix if Benedict isn’t S4 and I think they know that
I'm still pissed that they swapped them. How are they going to do the whistledown drama in Benedict's season when Penelope is outted in her story with Colin to be Whistledown. It should have stayed in book order cause Eloise marries only months after Pen and Colin.
Interesting I was picturing Sophie looking like Jessica Henwick or Gina Rodriguez keeping with the diversity theme. It would have been nice to see East Asian/Latino heritage be in the limelight in Bridgerton.

One thing I notice NOT getting mentioned about Francesca is that she actually gets married, I believe, in her first season, long before Eloise. Her marriage is pretty much a foot note in one of the earlier books. Her book "When He Was Wicked," takes place after Eloise's story. I won't mention who, what or why to prevent too many spoilers for those who have not read the books. I could easily see her getting married this season as, although it is small part of her story, it will not negatively effect any stories before we actually get to her.
We wanna see all the Bridgeton siblings in season 4,5,6 etc

Omg am I the only one who is really disappointed and sad that Daphine and Simone are expected to not return.. AGAIN?! Like not even for a quick cameo?? I so don't understand it. they both did an AMAZING job and its sad to not expect to see them in season 3 or likely 4 either... I just finished Benedict's book; they have made him a lot nicer & not as passionate about his pushiness in the show rather than the book. But loved this storyline, disappointed about the casting for Sophie not as described as in the book, as we know they do change in the series vs the book. But the actress playing her is gorgeous so if Benedict in fact gets his season which I hope so can't wait to see it play on screen!

Bridgerton is about a cohesive close family. When casting for the series they should have hired actors that could comment to all future seasons if only in a small part. The exception would be Hyacinth and Gregory that would need to be replaced with older actors. That's what all other series do.
I think they realized that after Season 1 ended, that they needed to lock down all of the actors for future seasons. It puts them in an awkward position for Daphne. I think the actress would appear in all future seasons, but without Simon, it would be weird. Hence, why she’s not in Season 3.

And I want to now what everyone’s opinion is. I didn’t like Theo for no other reason than he’s white, I like the idea 💡 of Theo but I don’t like that he’s a white boy that looks like Eloise’s long lost twin brother. Penelope and Colin are the only white non-mix couple I’m willing to accept. Because there my favorite 😍 as I said, I want the whole rainbow 🌈 and I want different fashion styles that incorporates those cultures. I was very upset when we didn’t get 🇸🇱Sierra Leone influences for lady Danbury‘s wardrobe, but I’m hoping when her daughter is introduced possibly in Hyacinth’s🪻 story or before we get cultural influences from Africa since I think that’s where she’s living now. and would love if this actress played Lady Danbury’s Daughter
@@sarickacampbell2642 Theo’s casting was fine to me because it was obvious he wasn’t going to last. Though the fact her book love interest has already been shown as white was disappointing. I don’t think I’d have liked Theo to be a visible minority, only for her to end up with a white man. I imagine others would similarly feel off put by that.
I have to say all this talk of season 4 has got me hoping because honestly, part 1 of season 3 was a huge disappointment! The only truly swoon worthy scene of course was the infamous " carriage scene " at the very end!!! Granted the initial hinting and revelations of NEW titles etc was fun but I found that a 4 episode season could have easily been run in 2 episode beginning with suspense of
" other " storylines being developed. Honestly breaking the season in to 2 parts is nothing more than click bait! Very disappointing. 😔 😔

I was of the same option for Benedicts love interest not wanting her be black because of the whole servant aspect.
Where we have a fictional story and societal time period and the a black women would still have to be a servant/ slave still just didn't sit right with me. Ask a black women who loves romance and period dramas. I would like some escapism. while I also still wanting her to be black and not mix or light skin, full black because I didn't want to wait for a black women love interest for George's season. though if this actress will play Sofie I am very happy and I can't wait to see her in action.

Girl 😒. There are people in here complaining that there is a lack of diversity because they have not included an East Asian or LatinX yet. I find that to be interesting that when they don't include East Asians or LatinX, people suddenly care about a lack of diversity(where was this energy for the last two seasons). I also find it interesting that people are ignoring the fact that in the second season the leading female love interest was Indian which is considered Asian regardless of the region; but that still isn't good enough. If BW complain about lack of representation or being misrepresented we are looked at as a problem. You know what actually irritated me( and I could be over-analyzing this) when looking at these comments someone actually said that they pictured a BW woman for this role while reading the book( mind you this person is non-Black) like what is that supposed to mean? So you felt that only a BW can play a role where she had to struggle before she met someone who took her out of her situation?! 🤦🏾♀️. BW always have to tolerate being underrepresented and we definitely don't complain this much especially not with the level of vitriol I'm seeing. Anyway, Imma end it off with this BW are the most disrespected and it's clear that a lot of women in here are jealous of this BW beauty(the one who might be cast as Sophie).

@@lolab1917I’m not sure about the “lack of diversity” comments. I haven’t seen or interpreted them that way. I’ve seen it more as hoping for actual diversity, as in, more than just black/white. There wasn’t quite as much reason for “this energy” in seasons 1&2, because the lead couples were interracial. That said, there could have been some grumbling since we already knew 2 of the 5 oldest siblings have white partners-Colin and Eloise’s book love interests were more or less revealed in season 1.
The reason for more energy now is because so many love Benedict, and season 4 is guaranteed. Season’s 5-8 are still up in the air. However, even then one is already known, and he’s white. I saw someone say Hyacinth’s is related to Lady Danbury, so that suggests another black male lead. There is only one other male Bridgerton, Gregory.
All that said, there are other characters of interest and potential spinoffs/mini series. Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury, (especially the latter). Plus, the former boxer and his wife (I’m blanking on names) and Ms Delacroix. There are quite a few BW (and mixed/light skinned) and they’ve been reasonably represented. With the exception of Lady Danbury’s love life, but if that is rectified I’d be good.
As for that horrible Sophie related comment you mentioned… I’m so glad to finally find someone else call that out that BS! 🤦🏾♀️

The anti-Black racism is strong in these comments. I really have to laugh because it is a Black woman, Shonda Rhimes, that have brought these characters to life. The author, Julia Quinn, has done nothing but praised Shonda's adaptations of her novels. They even worked together to bring Queen Charlotte to life. I really think some of you need to accept diversity is the new norm. This is the 21st century.
Bridgeton Season 3 will have an East Asian as an early love interest for Colin. I saw her in a preview. It would not bother me if Benedict's Sophia is Black, Asian, Caucasian, or Mexican. I am more interested in the story.❤

I just begun watching the new Bridgerton Season!, so WHO IS FRANCINE?? She is not one of the Bridgeton Family!c So where did she come from??
She is Fransesca Bridgerton, the actress was recasted (someone Else playedeher character s1 and 2 + she barely had screen time) so that’s why you may not recognise her🤗
The loose character of Bridgerton men bothers me. It's as if the entire town knows how they are in bed. Anthony was a well known rake. In season 2 we see him with a new woman every night in his bed before he meets Kate. Since his last breakup, if he's drowning his sorrows in sex, then it won't be surprising if his body count is near 50.
Imagine Kate goes out with him and a group of prostitutes laugh at her knowing her husband used to be intimate (imagine sex in great detail) with all of them. Same with Benedict. And perhaps Colin too.
They would never show a promiscuous female lead who's slept with half the working class men and then finally settles downs a with a most handsome, virgin man........
To be honest, that is one of the most historically accurate aspects of the show. When these men were teens, there was a literal tourist guide's to London's sex workers published every year. It was once said that it was as important, socially, for a man to be seen in Harriette Wilson's drawing room as at White's club. When men took their sons to Oxford of Cambridge, it was standard practice for them to introduce their sons at certain well-known houses. Anthony's dad probably did that with Anthony - and he probably carried on the tradition with each of his brothers. Men of this class and this time period were expected and encouraged to be promiscuous.

I adored the way they incorporated traditional dress into their regency gowns and subtle traditions (like Kate making chai, and the amazing bridal ceremony)

Kinda makes my heart sad. I know the showrunners have mentioned a queer relationship taking center stage in a future season and I had hoped it would be Benedict. But I will still love watching the show, even if that's not the case.

It was the first step in a journey to discovers himself. And we already seen the man Elois will fall in love, so I don’t think there will be any lesbian action, altough Cressida maybe could discover new feelings while she is with Elois, that would be interesting.

Why can't Sophie be white? At least one pair could be. It is always clear now that Anthony, Dafne, Hyacinth and Francesca will also have the next generation of Bridgertons, diverse and diverse... Sorry for my opinion, but I am a fan of the story about Benedikt and I really liked how she was described in the book would someone like that suit the actor from the series, so why? Of course, it should primarily be about choosing someone likeable, but it seems to me that it's not so much about who is best suited for this or that role, but about what ethnicity should be given space so that one person doesn't have more of it and the other less... that's really not good
Couldn't agree more! God forbid they choose a white woman for Benedict. And before you all eat me alive, I don't really mind interracial couples on screen but they should at least got for actors who actually have chemistry on screen, and not to just shove it down our throates no matter what.

Y’all need to understand that the actor who played Simon, Daphnes live interest in the first season is BIRACIAL. We have yet to have a fully black female lead. So if Sophie is black she will be the first fully black lead. Stop saying black is already represented because it wasn’t.

“Latina” refers to any woman from Latin America. There’s plenty of Latin American colonies. You have Colombia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guyana, etc. All played a role in the slave trade from the Spaniards/Portuguese. But you only mention Mexico?
The book clearly described Sophie as having blue eyes and blonde curly hair. If the wanna cast a black (in a servitute roll) Sophie go ahead. The story wont work. Read the dam book.

All we want is a good love story. We don’t need them to be white. The main family that we follow is already white.
If its an all white cast you seek watch old classic , where there is an all white cast. You forget that Shonda Rhimes intentionally choose to imitate was happening in 21th century which is mix culture, mix marriages in her show in regency time so that people can relate too.
I truthfully really want them to stick to what Sophie looks like from the book but accepted that that probably won’t happen. I was convinced until recently that She was going to be Asian as, forgive my bluntness, that was the only race not represented so far.
If they were going to make her related to the Cowpers, then they could have a half Asian half white actress and then that would bring in the discussion of the mixed race.

There has been a Black Cinderella before when Brandy portrayed her in 1996 for Rodgers & Hammerstein Cinderella & she is reprising her role this summer in Disney’s Descendants 4. Selena & Camilla Cabello were Cinderella or in a Cinderella role & they are brunettes with not fair skin. Same with Drew Barrymore who played a Cinderella role & she has red hair. Media has proven anyone of different ethnicities can portray Cinderella

This take is a little strange to me ngl . I get where you are coming from with wanting to see more Asian actors on the show, but there has not been a monoracial black woman lead as yet on the show either, don’t they deserve representation as well ? Also shonda is a black woman so it would be strange if there wasn’t a black woman lead at some point. I would like to see an east Asian lead at some point in the future as well and there are still other siblings seasons to look forward to in the future, but to use that as a reason for not wanting to see a black lead is strange. If she really is Sophie I think that she would do an amazing job as she was really good in noughts and crosses which is a show that she did previously.
