Whenever I post a medley people seem to think that I edit existing recordings together to create them or something. In reality, this is a single performance by the Erich-Weinert-Ensemble, an East German military ensemble. It *is* the original. That’s why you’ll notice an accent in every song aside from the first one. It’s a bit unfair to expect every member of the choir to be fluent in every language featured in this medley. Likewise, if you have an issue with the songs selected to represent the countries, such as Bulgaria’s being a partisan song rather than a military song, I’m afraid I have no control over that and you’ll have to go back to the 1960s to speak to the Erich-Weinert-Ensemble about it.
The pronunciations of the Hungarian one is not like as Germans use to pronounce Hungarian. It is like North Korean.
when i finish my time machine, ill make sure they get an earful about it >:(

Tell them I love their music.
If we're talking about pronunciations, the Romanian song sounds quite good - it's a 1950's soldiers' song and it's a little bit longer than in video. The issue is the country's name: People's Republic of Romania (Republica Populara Romana - RPR) no longer existed in 1969 - the name was changed to Socialist Republic of Romania (Republica Socialista Romania - RSR) in 1965. Also, in 1968 Communist regime in Romania opposed the invasion of Czechoslovakia, so Romania was no longer an active member of Warsaw Pact. Maybe the recording was made earlier (or even before 1965)?

We've stood together back then, and if we have to, we will stand together once more!
@So'mn But you have to look at the facts that Imre Nagy was legitimizing Anti-Communist forces and allowing Right-wing Nationalist, Conservatives and Liberals to gain influence(something not even Tito did). In retrospect their choice was quite justified in this regard, the USSR allowed Solidarity which was a workers' union independent from the Communist party in Poland to operate and Solidarity basically got the blessings from the Vatican and funding from the CIA which played an instrumental role in bringing down Socialism in Poland all together.
@So'mn But that did happen eventually under Gorbrachov and NATO countries did not honor the USSR's desire for them not to expand and when as far as to rig the election in favor of Yeltsin against the Communist in 96. The West never respected the third world, Catalonia's, Yugoslavia's right to self-determination so asking Communist countries to be better is laughable.
@So'mn Josip Broz* his last name is not Tito
