Thank you so much for doing this story. My daughter was told at 23 that she had stage 4 endometriosis and that she wouldn’t be able to have kids. I convinced her to try a plant based diet. She is now 25 and is coaching other women to deal with their chronic pain using food as medicine. She no longer suffers like she was. Women need to know that what is at the end of their forks matters.
Well if that interview doesn't convince people, nothing Will!! I have been half heartedly eating vegan for a few years because of health issues, now I'm going to go all the way. No oil, no cheat days were I have cheese or milk. I really need to get well and this has proved to me that it works for all sorts of ailments. Thank you so much for sharing.
Another thing to be careful around (because it's technically "vegan") is acrylamide, a cytotoxic compound primarily created when starches are cooked at high temperature. Toasts and fries/chips are the worst offenders, but dried fruits and roasted nuts can also deliver a large dose of it. One of my sister and I are abnormally sensitive to it, and it triggers upper body acne and mild cognitive impairment (both dose-dependant).
Thank you for sharing this story! Women’s menstrual health is unfortunately not talked about enough. I’m 25 now and I went vegan a few months ago at 24. My periods were so bad I would pass out from the pain every month and had learned to just deal with it. It would be so painful that I couldn’t stand up without loosing my eyesight because everything would turn yellow. I had to miss out on life for one day every month, and other people just didn’t get it. My cycle started getting longer and longer until it was 48 days. I accidentally went vegan one day and immediately saw improvements. It’s now 8 months later and my cycle is down to 28-32 days and my last period I didn’t have to take any pain medication for the first time since I first started getting my period at 10 years old! I’ve also lost 30 pounds and still eating delicious food that I love! I wish I would’ve know sooner, but I’m so glad I know now!
Thanks for this video. Finally made the change to vegan oil-free after 7 years of lazy vegetarianism, and the last two months have been almost pain free. I was also the type to take fistfulls of ibuprofen, and this last month I only needed 1 small 400mg dose. Every month seems to get better. Ladies, please don't wait as long as I did to finally start this diet if you have endometriosis or dysmenorrhea
I agree! I started whole food plant based diet 7 weeks ago, I just had my period and it was like day and night! I suffered past 8 years with extreme pain, migraines and throwing up, nausea, diarrhea, etc. This is the first time I didn't have to take ibuprofen! I'm all in! Not going back to eating dairy, eggs and meat whatsoever! 🙂
She is so honest about the fear of “having to eat this way forever” - this is the main fear response I hear from people when I tell them about the way I eat. However, it also made me feel really sad about people like my friend who just had a hysterectomy as a result of endometriosis. Her response to my diet was “I could never give up cheese” :(
OP I follow the diet set out by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn in his book “Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease”. I came across it while researching a diet for my father after he had a massive aneurysm. It made sense so I literally bought the book for my whole family. And it’s been interesting to see the various reactions, and when people change their diets, what they actually struggle with. For me I went from that book to watch the documentary Forks Over Knives. And then just did it cold turkey,. When I cut out all the dairy, and oil’s, everything changed pretty fast! The biggest difference is seeing how much my mom‘s body changed… because she’s in her 70s and is now working out like five days a week because she feels so good!
@@missy3240 How was your fathers health subsequently? He's lucky to have you as a daughter to research for him! What does the Esselstyn typically involve then? Is it just low animal protein high vegetable? Wow, your mom seems inspirational too! I'm pretty young but health is in quite a state at the moment... very depressing.
I have very similar, if not exact symptoms as this beautiful lady. The only difference would be that I've recently had a bad episode of Vertigo, terrible feeling & still feel dizzy every now & then. Has anyone else here suffered this & if so what helped? I've been seeking the right help for me & I have started a plant-based diet for 3 days & already feel slight changes. I'm so glad I have connected & subscribed. Thank you so much for sharing. 🥰
Yes I’ve experienced vertigo symptoms although I wasn’t diagnosed with vertigo. It was unknown. I discovered taking iron supplements helped with that vertigo dizziness I’ve experience. I feel like this may be connected to endometriosis Bc I know somebody else who had the same symptom.
@@eman6092 I began eating whole-food (minimal over-processed, not-found-in nature- substances like sugar, white flour, and oils), and plants only FIVE days per week and allowing myself anything for the weekend. Or balancing it out 5/2 for holidays and occasions when festive or traditional foods (high caloric density, low nutritional value, but tasty and historic). It worked. I felt a change in 4-5 days as the inflammation went away. Love it. Now it's over 7.5 years. I minimize "American junk/restaurant/normal" foods and prepare most all of my meals from fresh ingredients and/or things that don't have a lot of negative health consequences like oils, sugar, and white flour. Then when there's an occasion or holiday I can make healthier versions of traditional feasts fodder or JUST GO WITH IT. Sure there may be negative consequences, and yes I can tell it after an extended "off plan excursion" but I QUICKLY return to plan in order to feel better than the standard "achy breaky" of many folks my age. There's simply no way I'd go back to "normal" it just makes me feel too lousy and then I'd start taking pills and seeing doctors trying to feel better. It's just a lot simpler to eat truly healthier. Tastes great too (after a bit of a reset period). I love my food and eat a lot! I'm 56 now.
@@wadepatton2433 im really happy for you , i started eating vegan no dairt no gluten since a week but yesterday i ate some pasta and burger and today i feel pain in abdomen its feels like inflammation inside me 😵💫
@@eman6092 I do have some "non-healthy-but-very-common" foods infrequently and they don't give me much problem, but I can always tell and if I eat them for more than two days--like holidays-- I start to feel bad all over. It's just not worth feeling lousy all the time to "cheat" much. I try to never cheat out of convenience, but this world is not perfect and sometimes food is better than fasting (which I have done to avoid bad foods in recent years-short fasts are nearly always healthy and they're so MUCH easier when fully nourished regularly with a diverse and plant-based diet. Hope you feel better really soon and find a healthy balance of good and "other" foods. Cheers
I also have a stage 4 endo as per my gyne and currently suffering intense/severe pains for days during my period days and even after my period days, I still have some uncomfortable pains.. l’ve never been so scared of my life and also been trying some food changes in my diet and just hoping and praying for the best. I hope I can have her meal plans so I can start using the same 🥺
Thanking god so much I watched your vedio when I was told IVF is the only option I have after going through 3miscarriages & endometriosis cyst removal!!! God bless you
It’s ironic that this video would come out two days after my 39 year old sister had a partial hysterectomy. She was diagnosed with endometriosis a few months ago.
What does her diet consist of and what does his diet consist of? They both that plant-based diets can differ drastically! He looks sickly and malnourished whereas she looks healthy and vibrant!
They keep showcasing this one woman. Her case is NOT typical. I have gone vegan to control endo and I can verify personally that being vegan does not help one bit. I am sorry this woman had such a poor diet and self control that she made herself sick with mararoni and cheese, but most endo sisters are not like that. most women with endo have fairly healthy diets as we are always trying to find something to control the symptoms. Furthermore, soy is one of the worst things for endo and your health in general. it can even flare you.
Not sure if I agree with this. It depends on what you eat. Also, not all soy is bad for you. The soy from edamame or organic tofu is what you should consume.
We need more this! Hate to see all these woman needlessly suffering and paying thousands of dollars to try to conceive a child.

What kind of diet do you recommend? Just anything that's not from an animal?
Me too! This is my story as well!!!
I'm proud of you and your daughter.
I went vegan and it did nothing to help me
You also have to avoid sugar, processed food, and alcohol. Eat more cruciferous vegetables. Otherwise being “vegan” means nothing.

I don't know how dairy is so addicting. I'm more repulsed by dairy than anything else, especially cheese.
What diet do you follow? I'm eager to follow any diet that could make me super healthy!

This is so weird. I could give up all dairy. Eggs probably the only thing I'd miss.

Katherine is truly inspiring! Her cooking classes have been an invaluable resource for me as I transition to an entirely low-fat and vegan diet.
Does she have a channel?
Low fat is definitely not the way to go.

Did they diafnose her endo through a lap? She did they ran some tests....? That sounds suspect to me. Did she really have endo?
