The album is a grower in my opinion. I discovered Currents through it. Its so dense, riffs and lyrics, ambience and background lead guitar, that its hard on the first listen to fully enjoy it as a whole. At least that's how I felt it back in the days. I wasnt used to this kind of technical and acute riffs. Thanks to them, today I love Silent Planet and Invent Animate for example ! But yeah, lyrics are everywhere. That's what I liked. I relate very much to them. Especially Shattered, which is about anxiety and depression. So cathartic. I'm glad to see them having this much exposure now, with reactions like yours. 8 or 9 on 10 for me.
It was definitely a grower for me. Appreciated it more the more I listened to it. Reacted to The Way It Ends a few days ago and it’s been on repeat since, such a good album
Wow, recent video of tpifs reaction, i cant watch yet but is top of list after work, ez like and subscribe. Never seen u but ur for sure a beaut for doing this
My start with Currents was The Way It Ends, so going back and finding this after that made me love the album way more. I think some parts of the newer album lacked some **mmph** to it, which The Place I Feel Safest definitely did, I liked the clean parts way more on it too. I Let It In is great in its own way but I prefer the other 2 albums, their most recent singles are really promising though, so I'm hyped for the album. You mentioned the deathcore influence and I just have to mention The Chosen from Enterprise Earth. An absolute progressive thrashy deathcore masterpiece. Their vocalist left the band right after the album and the new one brought a different dynamic to the band. The singles with him are absolutely worth checking out as well, especially The World Without Us - it's a genre-bending ride. They also are just finishing writing their new album.
The place I feel safest is definitely a grower for me. Solid album that I’m appreciating more the more I listen to. Just checked out The way it ends and I loved it a lot more on my first listen compared to TPIFS. I’m upset I didn’t get into the band sooner. I bought VIP last night for sac! Cant wait to see them again and meet them this time. And on enterprise earth I definitely have to check them out. I actually met their new vocalist years ago before he was in that band in the city next to my hometown when he was working at the Whole Foods lol. He noticed my erra beanie and mentioned he’s toured with them in the past. Pretty cool to see the progress he’s made in the scene 💪 will react to them for sure sometime soon.
@@RubberToez Y'all US folk lucky you get so much shows. I'm European and in a country that a lot of bands skip so going to a show is always a big treat. And I loved The Way It Ends more at first too. There's something, like, unsettling about The Place I Feel Safest but I feel like it all builds up into the title track's last minute, the album itself works better as one piece while TWIE has more tracks that can stand for itself. That's awesome and the guy has some *big* shoes to fill, I mean, he replaced the machine that is Dan Watson,. But so far, they've been doing amazing.
I dig their ep!! Was the first thing I listened to from currents. I’m super excited to listen to the way it ends, it’ll be my next metalcore reaction video up
This band is sick I love pretty much everything they’ve ever wrote, I’m pretty sure their guitarist is from shadow of intent and he does some badass shit throughout this album but the bassist energy live is unmatched in my opinion, back in the day when northlane were auditioning for a new vocalist, Brian from currents should of got the position in my opinion but I’m glad he didn’t cause currents wouldn’t have him and his vocals are fantastic
Cant wait to see shadow of intent also! Wow I had no idea he auditioned at all. I honestly think Marcus was the best thing that happened to northlane since Adrian left, but I guess it all worked out the way it was supposed to for everyone haha

You'll definitely like their 2020 album 'The Way It Ends' more (and their 2018 EP 'I Let It In')
