in the latest version you can convert captions to graphics directly in premiere from the graphics and titles menu. there’s a new menu item called ‘upgrade caption to graphic’
@ashu khari 23.1
Thanks for commenting this I had no idea
LETS GOOOO
Thanks for sharing, I'll make an updated version for this in future :)
Thank you!
Ash you are a genius !!! You earned yourself a subscriber
My man! Ash, FANTASTIC editing tutorial! I love the work around for the SRT to XML file and utilizing the color palette for the quick fill. This is going to help a lot of people, we appreciate the shout out as well!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your thoughts. Feel free to incorporate these ideas in your next video!
@@AshBeecheyVideo Absolutely! And can do my friend, I appreciate you putting this video out. Happy to collab sometime in the future! - Kyle
If you drag all the clips from within the nested sequence back to the original timeline (or copy and paste), you then have it all on the original timeline so you can manipulate the captions on the original background. You can then delete the nested sequence.
@@poface4827 Does your new text layers that you copy over shrink in size? I've been having that experience so I've been bumping up the font size when I create the text style. Let me know!
@@saturns_ring They do yes. Good idea about bummping it up in the font style. I've been adjusting scale on one of the clips, using it's effect controls, copying it, then selecting all the rest of the clips (together) and pasting. Also same with the anchor point, as it defaults to the wrong place - I move it on one clip (using effect control) to the centre of the word, and copy/ paste to the rest, so the rotation works nicely when I add that.
This is the ONLY tutorial I've come across that shows how to color INDIVIDUAL words in Premiere. Thank you SO much! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Appreciate you and your lovely Brit humor!
You're most welcome!
thanks this was great for me as an editor!
Thank you for this tutorial
My guy! Freaking fantastic! You added time back to my life with this video. Had to sub!
This video should have much more views. Extremely valuable information. Thank you.
Smashing it! So helpful!
You’re welcome Gage, thank you for your comment ⚡️🟡
After converting subtitles into xml I am adding the xml file on the time line but the xml not showing any text how can I solve it😢
hey can you make a video on how to edit those graphics Alex f.e. uses in the first 3 seconds as a visual hook.
Great vid Ash. Colour hack is genius.
Nice work.
Dope content creation you have over here ...i like the tutorial 100% it was easy and straight forward with how you went about with the steps and also with the use of the color palette
and i also like the part you shouted "hallelujah"😅...thats just cool man
hahaha, I'm glad you enjoyed the aspects of my personality that I have conveyed in this video! - Stay tuned for more hahaha
@@AshBeecheyVideo hey ash am having a hard time transcripting captions in premier pro
Man I love how you just jump right into it...give the info fast and get out of it! Great stuff! Glad to be subscribed.
Too often there is just too much fluff and dead space in tutorials videos. Great job.
That's the aim with my channel!
I'll be sure to pump most of my content out in this way! Thanks for the kind words!
love it!!!
Didn't work for me. Uploaded the SRT file to that website , downloaded the XML file it created . Dropped it iinto my sequence. Everything was checked but the nested file was empty. No duplicate subtitles were created. The XML also had an empty nested audio track linked to the empty nested subtitles. Strange. Good video though! Thanks!
This is absolutely incredible!
Thanks!!!!!!
When I am dragging the XML document to the timeline it is not showing two subtitles like you showed in the video.I m unable to proceed further what is going wrong i don't understand.
@ Ash Beechey Didn't work for me. Uploaded the SRT file to that website , downloaded the XML file it created . Dropped it iinto my sequence. Everything was checked but the nested file was some subtitle created and some subtitle not show. Would you be able to help with this issue?
Good method but it doesn't work for me. I'm getting "the project appears to be damaged" error when I try to import the XML file. .😥
where can I get the color palette? :D
when i apply the preset all the captions are the same word from preset how to avoiud that?
Very informative 🔥, thank you 😁
I tried it multiple times and there are some problems. Some captions are showing properly, and others are as "empty"
I believe you have enabled the setting that generates "empty" when there is not caption to be displayed. I think you can disable this setting when you initially generate your SRT within Premiere.
@@AshBeecheyVideo I don't see such a option.
Hi the captions are clear but how do we add the slight scale effect to specific words in sentences
You can get that from the linked to video in the description 😊😊
Where's the asset you used?
THANK YOU, KEEP IT UP.

Thank you!
I'm having a hard time creating the color palette that is usable. I tried using a screenshot of the color palette and I also created the color palette but when using it to change colors on text, the text just turns black instead of the chosen color. Am I doing something wrong?
This was the problem. I had to move to a single monior to make the changes and then move back to dual screen. @islamclaro
He doesnt use Monsterrat black, The quotation marks doesn match!
Thank you so much for the video - I keep running into the issue of my XML files not containing all of the subtitle info. Some subtitle elements just remain as 'Graphic' with no text to fill. Have you ran into a similar issue ?
Thumbs up for this vid!
Used the backup link and it seems to work better! Cheers!!!!
thanks for the video and please please use timestamps :DDD
I got lost after 3:21 nothing works after that
🔥🔥🔥
Great tutorial! Only I have one problem: I followed Saturn's video too and made a text preset as he showed... But when I go to apply it to the essential graphics track just like you did, a text block that reads "WORD" appears above the captions, instead of actually applying the preset to the graphics caption text itself. What am I doing wrong here?
Hi Brad, can you send me a project file with media so I can diagnose this for you? I would be happy to have a look.
Shoot me a wetransfer ashjamesbeecheyvideo@gmail.com
I had the same issue. If it's the same as me , you're dragging a Preset, instead of a Style file across. Ash shows how to create a Style file in the second half of the vid. I knew I'd seen it somewhere...I kept re-watching the 3 vids and eventually found it again.
The same here. I'm stuck.
I have the same problem
@@npulpy read my comment above. Answer should be there. Ash shows how to create a style file in the 2nd half of vid
After I download the XML file from the website you provided, I import into premier pro, but after double clicking the green nested sequence like you did at 4:19, the captions graphics layer that opens doesn't like in 4:20 doesn't have any text in it. Also, the XML file captions aren't lined up like the original captions that I export as an SRT file. Would you be able to help with this issue?
the same here. did you manage to solve? my notebook is not compatible with version 2023 so I can't do it with the new function
@@LuanEditor instead of downloading the XML file. I create the captions, then in the Graphics and Titles menu at the top of the screen I select "Upgrade Caption to Graphic".
@@BgdoianLaw Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately my note doesn't accept the 2023 version, but I managed to create the legend with the .xml using the second link. The first is creating an .xml file with error.
@@LuanEditor 👌🏼 no problem. Gotta just figure out your own way sometimes.
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
