- We stopped by the Rock N Roll Vintage shop in Chicago and go our hands on some delectable vintage Fender offsets: an early '60s Jazzmaster found in an abandoned barn and an all-original, well-loved 1965 Jaguar. See more on Reverb: shorturl.at/fmAF4

I am super grateful to own a 61' Ash Jazzmaster and take it from me its absolutely epic.
I have a 65 blonde ash awesome
I wish I could travel back to the early 80s when vintage Jazzmasters and Neve preamps were dirt cheap
I love my little $800 Fender Mexmaster. Nothing quite like that tone :)
the Jaguar, for me, will always be the Rowland S Howard guitar.
So you’re a Nick Cave fan or…..?
He said rowland. Not Nick cave
Crown prince of the crying JAG
@@Mark70609 The Birthday Party stuff I think is probably Rowland's weakest work to be honest. His two solo records are stunning, and I love his work in These Immortal Souls and Crime and the City Solution.
Idk Jennifer’s veil is pretty good dude
Got a JM and a jag as my main guitars, love them like I love you Joe
The last Jaguar I played was really bright. I have a Blonde Bandmaster and it certainly fattens up these guitars.
That Jag has one fugly sunburst. Anyway, put 11/12 gauge flatwound strings and it all makes sense. Such a versatile and fun guitar.
Wooow that jaguar blow my mind!
the come back of the funky vintage videos !! yesss
Fun video. Awesome guitars. I have a squier classic vibe Jaguar 60s. I love it. Great playing.
I'm glad that my Mom and Dad introduced me to the hair brush as a child...I've been practicing with it for years
Love my 90s MIJ Jag. I got curious: the 1962 price of a new sunburst Jag: $375. It was the most expensive Fender of the pre-CBS era (a sunburst Start was only $280 in ‘62.)
beautiful!!!
Love my Jag ❤
Very nice guitar playing.
My wife bought me a sunburst 62 jazzmaster back in 08 , its best guitar i have ever known , not happy about huge increase in value as i like to use it and never intend to sell it
I have only played a JM and a Jag in their Squier variations, so I would LOVE to play the real vintage versions. I am drawn to the Jag looks and pickups, but when I played those Squiers, the Jazzmaster felt better in the hand .
The kids at GC didn’t understand how the controls worked and I only learned after that visit so the initial complexity of both was rather stymieing for me. I hope to have another go at it and at least find 2 Vintera reiterations to play side by side now that I understand the controls.
Thanks for the video, I’m gonna steal some of your tunes 🤜🏽🎸🤛🏽
Very nice playing. Idk if I could choose between jazz or jag. Good video
Man you're playing some yummy stuff
The bridge on the JM is of the Mustang
That 65 Jag 🥲
I recently had the extreme good fortune of getting one in pristine condition. I’d like to tell you it didn’t live up to expectations … but damn, it’s even better than I’d hoped.
Speaking of vintage, looks like you’re wearing Robert E Lee’s coat
The civil war was not over slavery he says
How can you keep the yrem bar in that position? I've got an American fender Jaguar '62 reissue and the trem bar is falling down
I've always wondered why you adopted a short scale for your top-of-the-line models.
Gibson was their biggest competitor!
This player could make a phone book sound good, always super interesting!!Would live to know what band he's in!??
Thanks
I was unaware Neville Bartos was such a good guitar picker..
Roy Clark played both a Jazzmaster and Jaguar at different times.
In the 70s you could pick em up cheap!
A pile of guitars, you say? Did Yngwie Malmsteen live there?
Jazzmasters are so much fun. I wish the offset body shape was taken and used with a wider variety of guitar designs (it seems like jazzmaster fans don’t like changing things about the original design). I remember I had always wanted a jazzmaster with a Floyd rose and when Guitar Fetish recently announced the SBS Guitars line, I immediately set my heart on getting one of the vintage looking blue jazzmaster models. I then replaced the knobs with old black fender witch hat knobs and put pearloid block inlays stickers on it to give it the look of a 60’s jazzmaster, as well as add a checkerboard strap for extra classic 50’s-60’s looks. I love that thing to death. The Floyd rose and 60’s Fender offset look together makes for this true “hot rod” classic car-looking thing about it. I need to play out with it more.
Wondering why reverb rates are so high? THIS
I literally have dreams about finding vintage guitars in barns. This does not help.
Beautiful playing but man is that JM harsh. Even my Squier with modern pickups has a warmer neck pickup. And a lovely fat necK!
I’ve not deeply bonded with any vintage design jazzmasters myself. I’ll tell you, the best sounding jazzmaster I’ve ever played, across vintage design vs. more modern leaning ones, was an American Professional Jazzmaster with the newer V Mod pickups in the 2010’s. That was one of the best sounding guitars I’ve ever played in my life. I highly recommend trying one.
65 jazzmasters are better imo.
i farted into jazzmaster
Did it smell like rock n' roll?
Is anybody going to set up a "Go Fund Me" to buy Joe a new jacket?
PS: Jazzmasters and Jaguars suck...terrible guitars, unless you are into Surf rock.
Ok bud. You can go now.
Daft
They do a thing. And they’re a lot easier to manage if you put appropriate string gauges on them.
I'm into Surf rock.
