Read a comment by a former lobbyist who stated the congress people have no clue what they are voting on. He walk into meet them and it was the young interns and such who are fresh out of college making the decisions. Once you think about that government decisions make a lot of sense. Term limits would work fine aswell as cognitive evaluations for all politically elected or nominated including releasing information on their psychological and emotional history and health. Sounds invasive, but when your decisions can or will impact the privacy and livelihood of voters directly, I believe it's the least they should do.

Term limits... 3 terms (18 yrs), or 70 yrs old (whichever comes first), for U.S. Senators, and 9 terms (18 yrs.), or 70 yrs old (whichever comes first), for Representatives.
If you are going to fight to get a Constitutional Amendment for term limits, also change the length of term of Representatives from 2 year to 4. Two-year terms mean they are constantly running for re-election rather than getting their work done. I also think 12 years for both the Senate and House would be long enough.
