  • Installing a Lenco Trim Tab control kit on a 2012 Mastercraft X-35 to replace the SmartWave system.
This kit was to replace an older after market trim tab control panel. The adaptors were not compatible so we stripped the wires and connected with wire nuts for now.
This kit was designed for dual actuator, which means two on each side. We only needed the single actuator kit for this install but already had the dual. We left two of the connections unused. Also the LCD panel connector we left unused.

They are not designed to install on the back of the boat. The switches are supposed to activate the trim tab on the opposite side. Trim tabs only provide lift, so the only way to bring the port side down by lifting the opposite side. If you want to bring the port side bow down, you need the starboard side tab to go down, and vice cersa. You wired them up backwards of how the designers intended it, but if it works for you then it's whatever. Like inverting the controls in a video game.

Great info. I know very little about this stuff. Thank you.
