The first step is over for my wife , looking forward for step 2 which is nvc to send me the welcome letter ! My wife I 130 application took 14 long months, but I finally got approved on September 27, 2024. I submitted my wife's application on July 25, 2023, and we got an update on August 10 that her case is being actively reviewed. The process is stressful, but hang in there - patience is key!
Oh no...16 months and counting now, I upgraded to IR1 after I got my US citizenship, the date is Feb 2023 and haven't heard back, my wife and I are having to wait so long..

I won the green card lottery in 2018 and came to America. I just got married and she lives in Turkey. I am applying for I-130. What was your date of admission? city or town? state? . I did not understand this question. Should I write the date on the green card? Or should I write the date I first stepped into America and the airport address?
I just spoke with USCIS. in order to file I-130, the foreign new spouse of a US citizen CANNOT FILE 1-130 until they themselves are US citizens, taking minimum two years. Again, according to USCIS. Also, not all embassies are the same. In South Africa, for example, it is not staffed by Americans, but by South Africans and they are not, shall we say, efficient as Americans might be. Incredibly slow process. Not 3-4 months. More like 2.5 years.

I have filed five I-130's (Family petition) . Two have been approved and been sent to the State Department (NVC) The others appear to be stuck at the USCIS Service center. Should I just go ahead and complete the two cases that are already at the NVC ? Will the other 3 cases just be pulled into NVC ? Should I just wait for the other 3 cases to be sent to the NVC before completing the next steps that would be required by the NVC ?
I waited and two more were approved. Apparently the last laggard case started processing 5 months after the others. WOW. Immigration lawyers would likely want to delay the process as they benefit the longer the overall process takes. The actual proper advice, which the lawyer won't give you, is to go forward with the approved ones and wait on the other one since there is only one left. Of course, consult with your immigration attorney, as I CANNOT provide legal advice.

My category is F4, PD July 2006. Documentarily Qualified June 2020. Recently I had a newborn and updated with with such. As a result of new update, they pushed my DQ date to new updated date, which is June 2023, and sending me 60-day emails with new DQ date. My 2020 DQ date seems to be forgotten. Yes very normal it will take up to 15months or less or more depending on how fast they move I waited 19months and brought my husband and my friend she just brought her dad it took her 12months

For May 2024 visa bulletin, not unless your petition (priority date) for your siblings were before 01MAR08 (DATES FOR FILING), your (their) case would still be with the USCIS and in that case, you wouldn’t hear anything about it. It’s only when it’s before that date, that your case will be forwarded to the NVC at that point which you’ll get a notification from the NVC about it to proceed to gather and submit relevant docs for the case. And when it’s before 22JUL07 (FINAL ACTION DATES), then it will proceed to move from the NVC to what I’m thinking will be the Accra embassy for visa appointment. But given recent situation at the embassy, it may also take a while before your siblings get an appointment date. The visa bulletin is published monthly and usually not difficult to interpret. Hope this helps..

Hi Ms Mcbean, I applied for my adult children when LPR since became a US Citizen. I submitted all documents and fees ; waiting for interview date that never came, now NVC is asking me to repay and resubmitted documents because i have not been in touch for a year of notice of visa availability. I did the inqiry and was told ì have to redo all that. Doesnt make sense since we are DQ and waiting for them to schedule the interview. I know if you dont apply within a year of notice you can be terminated but not the way they saying it now. How do I now proceed because they asking for phone records, email or some form which not logical. N VC should let the public know if this is a new rule they have because millions of people could be affected.Please advice the way forward.

I am an american citizen married to a Filipina. We were married in the Philippines. I currently hold a 13a visa. I have returned to the US and am currently in the US to liquidate my holdings located here. While here I have filed an I-130 for my spouse and she will file for adjustment of status in Manila, Philippines. As of May 2024 Visa bulletin, the final action date for f2B is April 1, 2016 which indicates the date for when your case moves from the NVC to your local consulate office. So given your PD is Oct 2016, should there be another movement in your category such as what was seen from April to May 2024, you should get a notification for visa appointment in two months. But this is subject to visa availability and several factors that even NVC is unable to predict well in advance. The final date for your visa interview is also subject to the pace and performance of your local embassy in Nairobi. So there really isn’t a definite prediction anyone can give. There are times there is no movement and can remain so for several months. So just keep your fingers crossed.

Seems like it reduced to 11 month wait but now it seems to be going back up. I have been waiting for 13 months and nothing :(

You need to apply for tax id number for yourself. please don't have him file single it could cause issues down the road.

long time ago i read in some magzine in a party a doctor asked attorney that in these kind of parties peoples ask medical advices what shell i do for this۔ attorney told him " billed them " three days later doctor received bill from attorney۔ so its scare us that if someone ask question and responce come along bill۔ i just want to know, if its free, despite interview proccees have initiated but still nothing done for interview date almost 8 month have passed۔ candidate is in UAE in perminent residence basis citzen of Pakistan۔
Hi Ms Mcbean, I applied for my adult children when LPR since became a US Citizen. I submitted all documents and fees ; waiting for interview date that never came, now NVC is asking me to repay and resubmitted documents because i have not been in touch for a year of notice of visa availability. I did the inqiry and was told ì have to redo all that. Doesnt make sense since we are DQ and waiting for them to schedule the interview. I know if you dont apply within a year of notice you can be terminated but not the way they saying it now. How do I now proceed because they asking for phone records, email or some form which not logical. N VC should let the public know if this is a new rule they have because millions of people could be affected.Please advice the way forward.

I am an american citizen married to a Filipina. We were married in the Philippines. I currently hold a 13a visa. I have returned to the US and am currently in the US to liquidate my holdings located here. While here I have filed an I-130 for my spouse and she will file for adjustment of status in Manila, Philippines. My question is this : Is it OK for me to return to the Philippines to live with my wife while waiting for the I-130 approval, or should I remain in the US until approval is granted ?

As of May 2024 Visa bulletin, the final action date for f2B is April 1, 2016 which indicates the date for when your case moves from the NVC to your local consulate office.
So given your PD is Oct 2016, should there be another movement in your category such as what was seen from April to May 2024, you should get a notification for visa appointment in two months. But this is subject to visa availability and several factors that even NVC is unable to predict well in advance.
The final date for your visa interview is also subject to the pace and performance of your local embassy in Nairobi.
So there really isn’t a definite prediction anyone can give. There are times there is no movement and can remain so for several months. So just keep your fingers crossed.
