everyone is talking about Christine but I'm over here like dang the phantom was on point one of the best iv heard to date someone put him on broadway
Put em both on Broadway. Best of both worlds!
@@thelittleseamstress4029 agreed
It really can be hard to find a good singer for roul and phantom Xd cant help but be impressed
I agree. The actor for the Phantom did excellent. I'd love to see them perform on Broadway
Who playing Christine in this video
Phantom: SING
Christine: Bruh what you think I’m doing
ㅋㅋ
😆
😂😂😂 When you see how passionately some Phantoms are at telling Cristine to sing you can't help but wonder if she's not maybe thinking : uhm, excuse me dear Phantom but what exactly is it you think I'm doing right this minute.?. Or would you perhaps be interested in a pair of hearing aids??
What I like most about Andrew Lloyd Webber's work is that there are a lot of imitations about sex in his work, which he presents in such artistic way
Lol 😂
I love the fact they hightlighted the orcherstra during the overture. Finally, some appreciation to the most underappreciated yet most important people in any production!
Agree!
it was not live till 5:02
Although I agree that they are under appreciated, I feel as though everyone is equally important in a production such as this one!
EVERYBODY is important in a production! Every. Single. Person. that works on ANY aspect.
There are a lot of underappreciated folks putting on a show. I used to stage manage.

Thank you my teacher is making us watch this and this is a question
When my high school did this, I was on the keyboard, I still have nightmares about the score. It was so damn hard. Though I rose to the challenge, I am still confident that I messed something up along the way.
It's nothing compared to Sondheim scores...
It's not a highschool performance without one thing being off. Normally only people who no the "grandeur" performance will notice.
Good Job being able to pull it off
I used to play piano and I just know this is a nightmare to play. I enjoy singing it, though.
The lady who plays Christine is now my voice teacher she’s awesome
Serenity'sfire98 that’s friken amazing tho
WOW
Is she nice?
Emily McCoy she’s awesome. She pushes us pretty hard but she’s the best voice coach I’ve ever had. We all have a lot of fun with Dr. G around 😁
She is truly an angel and one of my best friends. I enjoy working with her immensely. We've played opposite of each other in 6 shows now!
Ezekiel Andrew (the guy who played the Phantom) is now playing Mufasa in The Lion King on Broadway. So cool
GOOD HE DESERVES IT
Good ! He’s got so much talent
Wow no one’s giving Carlotta credit... she played that character perfectly and her voice is amazing
By far one of my favorite Carlottas. This one and Raquel Suarez Groen are the only actresses that I have heard or seen that can give the role justice.
@@nolan.theatre I saw Raquel on her first week of her Broadway debut, I was so lucky.
Well yea her voice is given credit, as in the story. But she isn't the protagonist here so yea.
Carlotta as a character is peak "not given enough credit"
Is not far, Carlotta in better than Cristine haha... but Cristine was good to
This was pretty impressive for a University production, and the actor who sang The Phantom was fabulous!
No, it was crap.
@@jenrose4177 why?
@@briantoal8872 why?
Agreed! I enjoyed it more than most of the professional productions I’ve seen! This had emotional beats and nuances that I’ve never seen before…but NEEDED to be there. BRAVO all!!!
Honestly, the only real tells that it was university was the wigs, and his prosthetic. Other than that, they were brilliant. I was so thrilled with the adaptation
I can't get over how accurate the orchestra sounded. For a while I thought it was a recording, but then I thought "What's Phantom without a live orchestra." And then I saw it and I was wait, they're really good."
Cast was great too! Most of the 25th anniversary songs were recorded, and most of then haven't been live. They pre-record a lot of songs and put them over the video and use the better recording. This is all live.
yesh most not all
The cast was good. The singing was amazing. The direction top notch. The sets excellent. The worst was they didn't have better cameras to capture this for posterity. What a pity!
I got the Blue-Ray version... thats very clear & sound was good.. try to search and download at other website..

This is NOT an easy musical to put on! The cast, crew, musician, directing, stage/prop designers.... YOU ARE ALL THE MVP!!!!!!
Congratulations on putting on a wonderful show! You gave Broadway a run for their money! 💜💜💜
This Phantom here was incredible.. I was so excited to hear his Music of the Night and he did it perfectly in my books and I'm one of the harshest critics because Sir Michael Crawford is a standard to which I hold all Phantoms but you sir did an incredible job and I believe Sir Michael Crawford would be very proud, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber as well.. WELL DONE!!!!!
I'm a Colm Wilkinson girl, myself. But I'm right there wit you lol

1:13:05 you can really feel the sorrow and pain in his voice, that singing and acting is truly amazing. The guy who played the Phantom is very talented.
THIS WAS DONE BY A UNIVERSITY????!!!!!!! AMAZINNNGGGG

Search up “Phantom of the Opera, High School”, the video is under “B Pinnacle” and made by high school students. It was very professional, and the singers were wonderful.
Wait, it is unprofessional? Wow, im impressed
This production just won a national award for drama !!
This is the first time I've watched a stage production of Phantom, and the orchestra transition during the Phantom's line "He was bound to love you when he heard you sing" at 1:13:04 is basically therapy. Absolutely beautiful.
I am in tears. This is so beautiful. The singing and tunes are bringing me back to 1989 when my lover passed away from AIDS. Like the first song, REMEMBER ME, I am remembering my dearest Randy, THANK YOU, USM, for filling my heart with music and joy,
So sorry for your lose, may your lover rest in peace❤️
Thank you for sharing im deeply sorry for your loss
If only he didn't he dicked in the poop shoot, he'd still be around. 😔 RIP Randy.

I am totally enthralled by this Phantom's voice! What an incredible performance. Sir, your magical power over Christine during "The Music of the NIght" was absolutely amazing. I truly enjoyed the nuances of emotion and action you gave to the Phantom in your interpretation. They are golden touches I've not seen elsewhere. Bravo!
I have seen POTO 11 times, 9 in NYC, once in LA (Robert Guillome) and once in Toronto (Paul Stanley). I think that this show was excellent. They are not professionals. It was way better than I expected. Great job!
Lucky!!!
What an amazing production! Possibly the best singing voices I've heard in Phantom, and the first time I've ever heard "Think of Me" sung as if Christine were actually an opera singer! My only criticism is it wasn't very funny: if done well, Carlotta, Firmin and André can be absolutely hilarious. But since it was an amateur production I certainly can't complain about that. Fantastic.

That guy who played the phantom belongs on Broadway 🤩
Thank you oh so much! I really enjoyed playing that role and I hope to play it again someday on the big stage!

They need to put the guy who played the Phantom on Broadway asap. The emotion he put into the role was incredible!
Agree with you on that.
Yes. I agree. He is very good.
No way. His voice was good, but it's musical theater, after all. You can't just hit the notes.
the man who plays the the phantom and the lady who plays Christine has a powerful voice! You guys really did great!
3:45 I LOOKED AWAY FOR ONE SECOND AND THE CHANDELIER STARTED FLYING

No one's giving Raoul credit here? I think he had the best performance among the three leading characters
I would agree, but I also feel the lady who played Meg Giry had the voice nailed. A supporting roll, yes, but since I have seen Phantom countless times, the little parts are important to me.
I agree - best voice and performance.
This is both beautiful and terrifying. The music and singing are impeccable, but the storyline is legitimately scaring me.
Im guessing that many of the "i liked it, but..." Comments are coming from theatre enthusiasts so I will not begrudge you, I am but a simple layman. However, this was great!
I've been a theater professional for 30 years and this production is fantastic!
The actress who played Christine Daae is really good, and she sounds like a mixture between Sarah Brightman and Sierra Boggess.
Liked eammy rossum
@@daynacooper1163 me too
I know, right? I always preferred Sarah's voice but liked how Sierra had more emotion. This is a great middle ground!
She’s nothing like sierra and more like another Sarah. Sierra is on another level. Good but not great. The phantom was brilliant.
sorry but can we talk about carlotta because omg she sounds amazing
she's Stunning!!!!!

This is my first time listening to Phantom of The Opera who is Carlotta?

This is the school I’m attending in the fall. I’m so excited
The chandelier dropping the first time was actually scary
I've seen POTO many times, and while the singing was good, it was the acting that blew me away. I've always felt that the love story, in professional productions, was underscored by the mystery of the phantom. In this production, I felt they focused on the pain Eric was in and the redeeming qualities of Christina. It was well balanced and full of the emotions I don't normally get from other productions.
How did they afford such amazing sets and costumes. Holy crap!
Fantastic
There are theatrical costume houses that rent out packaged shows: all the costumes needed for that show. Theatrical costumes all have wide seam allowances, so they can be altered to fit a wide range of sizes. Then the whole package is shipped out to whichever production rents it.
@@OofusTwillip
That's actually really awesome background info.
The Phantom of the opera is alive!
I loooooooved their kiss and how he embraces her. Might seem a bit out of character for the phantom but it adds that beautiful touch, idk
Very impressive experience, especially from non-professional college students. Several scenes here were even better here than the original showing and complements to the entire cast for their great addition to the making of this theatrical production!
For an amateur production this was well done- truly.
Not sure I'd call it amateur...these are college music majors who intend to become professionals. :)
Carolan Ivey they intended to be come professionals yes but this isn’t much of a Broadway mounted show or National Tour that has a $20 million budget there for making it an amateur production.
You have a point. :)
WOW what a performance! This female lead is incredible but the Phantom is THE STAR of this show. WOWWWWWW. What a voice, with such control and power, and live, at that! So very talented! Thank you for sharing.

This was great! I know it's always a bit daunting to take on something like Phantom, but this really worked! The costume department was amazing! I hope the community really enjoyed it!
A great production all around- I only wish it was recorded in HD! But its a small annoyance in the end, as everything else is so solid. Particular praise to the phantom, Christine, and Meg- a role which is often overlooked, but crucially important to the whole show. Any of them would feel right at home performing at The Majestic. And the orchestra was phenomenal, it'd be very difficult to differentiate this recording from that of the London original.
I love how the orchestra is showcased and on stage instead of in a pit, from what I can see at least
