My greatest achievement in playing the DLC and personal feeling of satisfaction was discovering two cheeses on my own. I didn't know what a cheese was until I played my first Souls game 8 months ago and Tyrannicon is my teacher.

I got this one first try.
Comet while on horse and mimic for senessax. Had to use poison fart method for bayle lol
He wont follow you out the entrance (with the falling boulder). He'll actually reset. I just kept great bowing him and reseting him.
Run to entrance, bow, run out to the left, bow again and he'll reset.
For those like me who can't handle the climb - you don't have to. Just simply lure him uphill and spam whatever projectiles you prefer and keep your distance by going uphill if it's too near. riding torrent helps. You can still shot arrows mounted on your horse. Repeat this process and the dragon will teleport away which is not an issue as when you re-engage the fight, its hp is exactly where you left off. The damage is still there, which means all you gotta do is repeat the process and it dies. I spent too many tries getting up the rocks only to find that I was too late and the dragon kept going back. This method is way easier for me.

theres also another ledge on the opposite side you can use. it the same concept. he can hit you with fire at this spot, however you can make it work if you are having issues with the main one.
No need for this. Just ride towards him on Torrent, hit him 2-3 times while going under him, ride away, come back and do it again.
Sure, it might take 5-10 whole minutes or more to kill him like this, but it's zero risk.
literally every time I jump to the little crevice where u get off torrent, when u get off him u fall off, EVERY time.
Hold forward when you dismount and be right up against the wall.
Don't bother with this "cheese". Just ride towards the dragon on Torrent, hit him a few times, ride away, then do it again.
The dragon will always walk towards you when you are away and will do a front-hitting attack after he detects you in his face, but you will already be under his belly by that time and he will miss.

Radahn's Rain melts him, I'd suggest using that as an alternative.
Man and I fought this thing with the dragon slayer katana and just spammed the weapon art like a complete fool.
Work superbly . Use serpent arrows if need be . Poison will kick in after a few shots
the spot is patched, BUT you can stay in a spot a little before the spot you see in this video. use a bow with mighty shot and destroy this dragon

I can confirm that this cheese works as of today, plus the boss doesn't reset, the important thing is boss has to be stuck and indefinitely crawling towards you on the EXACT same position as shown on the video, otherwise this cheese will not work and the boss resets by stuck detection.

This cheese no longer works as of patch 1.13.2. Boss loses aggro and despawns once you are at the necessary height to void damage.
I've tried about 6 times, the dragon is constantly teleporting back. But what worked for me was 99 poison arrows from and 50 ordinary arrows from a short bow + riding on a Torrent in a cyrcle + Mimic Tear with the same bow.
Worked. I used Rock Sling.

I climbed my way up onto the side of the cliff just out of reach and just blasted him with the Heavy Comet lol. Worked VERY WELL lol

If you alternate between fletched poison arrows and blood fletched arrows it will not take as long to kill him.

Thanks again papa cheese! I try not to cheese unless I have no other way. This guy was a tough one. No matter my strategy going in, he would fuck me up and my guy would lay there for a nap everytime he got hit. I ended up luring the dragon up the hill and pelting him with poison arrows and daggers until he'd eventually despawn back down the hill and repeat repeat until he was dead. It felt good to see him finally die

I didn't even jump anywhere, he got stuck behind the rock and i was shooting poisonous arrows in the corner of his wing
Rot and coldbone arrows works fine too.

Tip: Using rot and poison arrows is really effective

He teleports back if he goes to far but you can just lure home back with another arrow

You can also cheese him by using dragon rot breath. Just apply it and run away.

And I thought I was smart for setting Latenna the Albunauric near the entrance and distracting the dragon 🤣🤣🤣
he goes after whatever damages him so latenna is dead in 2 microseconds
It’s patched but still works just long bow him to bring him back will take a few times also used magic from the top rock was doing more damage for me depends on your intelligence lvl , used Radahns either his arrows some golden arrows and rock sling took about 7 minutes
Also instead of jumping sideways on the rock trying to get up go further up and jump from the top down way easier
Try Rot, it will slowly eat him, im getting him reseted everytime too... maybe they fix it.
This just doesnt work he can teleport away when ur up there and even if he stays he can still hit you with the flame breath.

Hate this boss. It sucks in every aspect. Take the regular ancient dragon model and boost the HP and damage to overtuned BS levels and put in some water and AOEs while you're at it! They could patch this boss completely out of the game and nothing would be lost of value.
But anyway fighting it normally in a number of ways did not work for me so I just took advantage of its idiot AI when keeping your distance and spammed the Destined Death move on the Black Knife that flies through the air. Hit its head, run back, hits its head, run into a wall, dodge and run the other way, keep repeating and refilling FP bar until it dies. Glad to be rid of this tedious, infuriating garbage. At least Bayle was good!

@@Tyrannicon Im on PC. Not sure if that makes a difference. I can't even get near the rocks before he despawns. I tried 4 or 5 times before giving up.
