I had a Crosman 1377 back in H.S. (1978). Best bang for the buck. Just bought a 1322. I did look at the umerx, but right off the bat I knew which one would prevail, even before watching this great review.
Love it. I manufacture a lot of parts for the 13XX and “test” it quite a bit. You make a lot of good points in this video. I would like to add that the 13XX makes a great backpack or survivalist airgun. And because it’s so easy to mod and go crazy with it I think a lot of folks get attached to it. Even if they move on to something fancier. Keep on keeping’ it real! Subscribed.
You folks make great stuff. I purchased a barrel band for my Akela works great.
@@Wingman115 Hey, small world. I'm happy to hear that! Thank you.
Buckrail is amazing gear, take a look at his stuff Wing
@@GTMGunTotinMinnesotan I’ve purchased gear from them for my Akela.
13XX + BR = 😃
Steel breech upgrade for scope or dot sights is a must for my older eyes along with the but stock.
That toss across the yard was awesome 😂. Nice video and thanks for the honesty
If there was a lake close by it would be a boat anchor. Thanks for watching.
I made a custom pump handle for my 1322 and I can pump it faster than ever! Links to the mods and 3D print files are on my channel.
Just binged all your 1322 and 1377 deciding on a present for my wife and dude, I forgot how much I love your reviews. Honesty and integrity are rare. Keep going brother!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Much appreciated.
Thanks for a great review. Was looking at the Umarex but I knew the good ole Crossman was the way to go. Thanks for convincing me, ordering the Crossman right now!!!
Thanks for an honest review man, exactly what I was looking for, I know the crossman in and out, I'm 70 years old had one of the originals, didn't know anything about the umarex but I have an avenger and I love it, almost bought the wrong pistol, so thanks again. Wish I could give you more than 1 thumbs up but you definitely got that one brother!
Thanks for the review. I agree that the safety issues and ease of use are critical. I would recommend the Classic American 13xx for all the points that you mentioned. See the good comments by others on the Crosman. Subscribed.
👍🏻👊🏻
When pumping up the StrikePoint, I put my right hand over the breech and trigger housing. That gives me plenty of grip and then just pump... easy peasy mon... my biggest gripe with the strikepoint is the front sight. I'm seriously considering cutting off the shroud of the front sight. The Crossman especially with the Steel Breech is very versatile.
Crosman pumpers are cool, but they need to buy the rights to Crosmods and incorporate all those cool goodies to hot rod their lineup.
I agree.
Best video ever... Now this is what all videos should be about thanks bro. 👍
Thank you.
Wingman This oldgeorge from Northern California I bought a 1322 and had mod it steel breech and 1399 stock and a new forgrip and 18" barrel and williams peep sight . I love your videos God bless wingman to you and your family. Oldgeorge I am 78 years old
Keep shooting George and thanks for watching. Much appreciated.
Great video. thanks
Thinking about some herd thinnin...squirrels around my Bird feeder, looking for a compare shopping thing and came across your viddie. Well done..informative.. good points.. good delivery and cadence. Answered my questions before I could think of them. Little cheesy on the gun toss, can't leave that around..!
Sweet finally anair gun video :) and of one of my favourite models the 1300 series
Thanks for watching.
Straight up honest review right there.
Thanks brother.
Sound like a good dude 😎 we appreciate your honest reviews ..I just ordered a 1377 the other day been wanting one forever..I have a built 2240 , 362 with a steel breech that I stole off my 2240🤣 and now a 1377 coming ..fun guns to tinker with for sure .. still a daisy guy but they don't have much variety , love my Winchester 1977xs it's a beast but those crosmans are growing on me lmao
Great video brother thank you!! My pops bought me and my brothers our first Crosman’s when I was 8 and my older brothers were 10 & 14. We had tons of fun! Thank you again for all your cool videos, keep up the great work!!😁
👍🏻👊🏻
The 1322 has every single hundreds of spare parts avaliable and can be infinitley fixed and rebuilt. It will last you forever unlike the Umarex.
RESPECT to you, Good review man, Thanks
Thanks for watching.
Thank you man!
I like it.
The Crosman 13xx series is excellent imho. Wifey getting me another with stock for Xmas cuz I'm such a good boy. Easy to mod or service if you have basic tool skills. Fun fact: the 1377 with 3 pumps is nice and quiet for urban backyard target practice at 5-10m (or yards for my American friends).
👍🏻👊🏻
Good one Jon - tell it like it is. All the best brother.
👍🏻👊🏻
absolutely love mine all though she's nowhere near as fancy as yours partner. great video
Haha id love a p1377 in blk. Ive done tons of research on add-ons and since ive got a bit over 4000 Crosman Premier Hollow Points still in the factory package I feel I need one. I do have a .22 it is a AV Avenger Bullpup and it absolutely loves the Crosman Hollow Points. I have split cards and hit thumb tacks at 85yds.
Thanks for being honest, I love the 1322 2240 platforms they have stood the test of time and are quality built .
I have 2 both moded of course.
Unfortunately on some of the sponsored channels they don't give any negative info , I bought a crosman icon there were only 2 reviews one was glowing but no mention of the bolt that feels like it has sand in it or the fact that rhere were no attachment points for sling , bipod , light or handle .
I'm happy with my Gun but some fore knowledge would have been nice .
The other gun you don't hear bad things about but is pure crap in Benjamin Trail NP pistol Gen 1 .
I can't say enough bad things about that gun , So again thank you for being honest and giving the true picture of what you get for your money
So cool seeing Terry from Buckrail-line post a comment, his stock made my Crosman Icon into and sweet package with my only complaint being the bolt is not smooth in operation.
I am glad I saw this review before I bought the strike force. It was cheaper so I was tempted. But I bought the New 1377c with a stock instead. You saved me some money. The sights might look simple and very plasticity on the crosman. But the peephole sight is really good in carbine mode. You don't really need optics unless you find them easier. Everybody is different. But the barrel quality is superb, its a straight shooter. I didn't even have to adjust windage for point of impact. I only had to adjust the vertical for range. Thanks for saving me money. I got a great little shooter.
👍🏻👊🏻
Yeah... I'm told that some folks just cut off the front shroud of the umarex, but I'd be concerned there for strength of the sight without the shroud. The crossman for me was hard to measure, I've improved valves on my crossman, but tho I like the Umarex, Crossman has it outdone on pretty much EVERY LEVEL, but I keep shooting the Umarex to prove to myself that i can be accurate with it... you can, but Crossman makes it more intuitive... :D given the choice, Crossman for me all the way.
👍🏻👊🏻
Good review , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks for watching and commenting Michael
I really enjoyed your review. You could not have been more honest then to throw that UMEREX away. THANKS !
i bought a crosman 1377 and it said it would come feb 2 but it got pushed back so im hoping its ganna come today
The lack of aftermarket for the umarex strike point is the only thing that deters me from purchasing it. That gun would do a lot better if it came with an optional shoulder stock like the crosman does. And maybe a way to swap in a longer barrel and use a steel breach. And it's a shame because I like the look of the gun. If anyone ever comes up with a aftermarket shoulder stock whether I'd be 3D printed or actually pressed I will buy one of those in a heartbeat
The Strike Point pistol looks sort of like Umarex and Hi-Point did a collaboration and made an air pistol together.
Great job on the video.
👍🏻👊🏻
Love the review. Thank god I watched this before buying that UX 👍🏴
👍🏻👊🏻
I love honest people. Thank you.
While I have handled Crosman pistols since the early 70s and as such have lamented how they just kept cutting corners; at least there are aftermarket fixes to make them somewhat worthy again. FWIW; I have a 1377, 1322, and a custom shop carbine and try to get them all outside now and then. I also have an early 80s 1377 that was more intelligently made than the others. So, I figured; may as well get the Strike Point and see what they did to correct the gross negligence of Crosman. Well, like you said; they made a worse copy and even did other annoying things like a grip and trigger sized for small hands (???) on a large pistol. I barely use it and have yet to throw it over the hill. Thanks for telling the truth. Now, let's put metal breeches on all the Crosman guns and get serious. ;-)
Thanks for commenting and watching. Much appreciated.
What kind of corners did you see being cut?
Thanks for the review. Have you ever done a comparison between the Crosman 1322 and the Diana Chaser?
And yes I would like to see them chronied.
I haven’t but I might be willing to if I ever get my hands on a Chaser.
we use to get ducks with the same Crossman. Use to sell the ducks to am Asian woman on the block. head shots every time, then use my bait caster with a hulla popper to snag the dead bird and bring them to shore. $5 a pop but that was back in 1985, when gas was ,97 a gallon. and a burger fries and coke were $1,99
Good times for sure my friend. Thanks for watching.
If you take the trigger spring and compress it down you will drop from 4 lbs to a 2 lb trigger pull.
And the girls were free.❤️
Great review
Thank you sir.
Amazing review
👍🏻👊🏻
Real good video I have A1377 it's probably 45 years old never had any problems with it
Thanks for watching.
Great honest review my friend, the 1322 is hands down a better pistol in every way. That Strike Point is a hunk of plastic crap, trigger pull over 10lbs... awful.
👍🏻👊🏻
Fantastic video
👍🏻👊🏻
UMAREX looks like a designer gun, where as the Crosman's more of a shooter's gun, old looking guns have since perfected the ergonomics long, long ago.
$60-80….I pay almost $200 for some after minor mods.🤣
Jeez, ok, yeah outta the box, the Uma sucks, but... a few easy-to-do tweaks and it's pretty good: Cut off the shroud, cut/replace trigger spring w/shorter, file off that nasty corner on trigger guard. The Uma has a better breech, barrel screws in, it's pretty quiet, hits hard, decent accuracy. And, you can jerry-rig a rail on top to add optics.
Fps would of been great awesome review ❤❤
😂😂😂😂😂 just having fun ..... I've taken out so much game with the 1322 .... but oooook
Great review. You already know what bought. It arrives today. These dam pigeons are goin down.
👍🏻
I Totally agree 👍.
The Strikepoint SUKS☠️.
Thanks for the Video.
Take care and God 🙏 Bless ✝️.
i grew with the american classic the one with the magnet which take bb's and pellets and the crosman 1322 and the 177 is the best nothing compares it
I have a super upgraded 1322, and a crosman 362 im about to modify. Good guns.
Thanks for your honesty I ended up buying a 1322 but I almost bought a Umarex man I'm glad I didn't I just would have done with you did anyways throw it in the trash if it's unsafe
Glad I could help
recommend a pellet gun for cridders?
@@d.a.j.9653 Crosman Premier hollowpoint 14.8 grain. It’s got to be one of the most reliable pellets. I’ve used for over 30 years and they are affordable.
Good review my friend.
I just bought a crossman 2240 a few days ago and already its leaking air and won't hold a charge 🙃
Try some pep-oil on the co2 cartridge that may help. Seals may be dry. Then cycle the bolt and dry fire a few times.
@@Wingman115 cheers mate I've tried that and went through several co2 cartridges. Still a slight constant hiss. Then after 30 mins its empty again. If it wasn't for bad luck I would have no luck lol
Last 1322 I bought, the rear of the barrel was a half inch to the left of the front of the barrel. You literally had to hold the gun cock eyed to line up the sights. Returned it and wrote Crossman off ever since
Almost a stacked deck with the 1322 being around longer with way more accessories etc, but the the Strike is just a bad design. Thanks Jon.
True that.
Ive got both and both have downed crows my strike point is .22 both are red dotted and configured to rifle butts no longer pistol
👍🏻👊🏻
Crosmans are excellent I got three 2250 models. All modded differently. so much to tune including PCP.
I recently got a 2240 but I've come to dislike the CO2 platform. Too cold 6 months of the year so I keep warm pumping my 13xxs lol. Other day only got 3 shots out of it before power went to crap.
Gracious…
The Crosman is an iconic and beautiful piece of design. Its also amazing value. Great video, even if you were a bit harsh, the Crosman is a hard task to follow.
Only being harsh to save folks heartache and money. Thanks for watching.
@@Wingman115 Only a little🤠
❤it💯👍😎
😮
Seems like every video I watch from anyone they say “you’re not gonna be doing any pesting or rodent hunting with this, just backyard plinking.” Well what do I have to buy in order to Hunt Squirrels and Rabbits? Seems very discouraging. Are the only strong hunting guns those long rifles? That cost 3,000$? Or am I ever going to be able to buy something for $300 for small game hunting? I’m ready to just stop looking at this point
They are probably just saying that from a moral standpoint, 1322 will "neutralize" small game easily with decent shot placement.
Crosman All the way .. I'm always have problems with my umarex air guns..
👍🏻👊🏻
Thank you for the review !
I also chose the 1322
Crosman got it right on that model. Thanks for watching.
@@Wingman115 it would probably make a decent survival item. Compact, easy to carry lots of ammo and no CO2 necessary. I believe it could be ised to hunt grouse / squirrel at close range
crossman every time
Have you ever used a Daisy Powerline 717 air pistol, massively popular throughout the 70's and 80's the gun has to be cocked before the gun is pumped.
I have not. But I would like too.
@@Wingman115 nah stay away from it man, you would likely throw it down the yard as it has to be cocked before you pump it and believe it or not if you pull the bolt back and dont pull it all the way back therefor not cocking the gun you can still put a pellet in the breach and home the bolt then when the gun is pumped the compression fires the pellet immediately I kid you not.
Good analyzation, very thorough
On the 1300 you can smooth out the hammer sear and the back of the trigger. Also you can install an aftermarket adjustable trigger spring like I did.
Wrong way wrong way wrong tricks of her kids❤😮😂
Dang!!!... i guess i boughr the wrong gun 😮.....
Wish i seen this video 1st.
👍😎
👍🏻👊🏻
The 1322 is a fantastic buy
You did trigger pull weight and all the measurements so why not do the chrony so we know. It takes ten seconds to do it.
thats awefull close...lol I modded my crosman 2289 for $100 20" lothar Walther barrel, steel breech and put my bushnel 10x30 scope on it pluss valve + pump work machined by me
1400 fps with 27 grain crosman premier, but they're to soft to make it 100 yards.. so I use .22 hard cast at 70 grain....... yeah I kow but its the cheapest .22LR you can get @$160 bucks +
4 hours on a metal lathe.. :-)
If you gotta choose, go with the guys who have been making them forever.
Thanks for watching.
The Crosman looks like a better built pellet pistol 😉👍
True that.
Breech leaks tho
I have both and the strike point sucks
Thanks for watching and commenting.
which one is better i think crosman is always a legend
Thanks!
I just bought the one you threw away 😆
I think I will skip the Umarex, and stick with my 1322
15 pumps on my Crosman 22 all day long.
It kicks when fired. I will be adding a 14” barrel next that will take it close to 650 fps.
Thank you for your honesty
👍🏻👊🏻
I've just had absolutely no sound, at all, with this video.
Worked for me.
Ciao il prezzo 4.5 completa
Thanks for watching.
I like this guy cus he reminds me of Danny McBride 😂 there like twins they even sound alike
I would love his money. 😂
Pretty much did the same thing with that strike point what a pos
👍🏻👊🏻
Crossman will always be the best lol
Chuck Norris?
Agree the umerex us far superior.
Crosman is the best
PUMP THEM SLOW
When I first saw Strike Point I was thinking 💭 WTF is this,,,1322 or 1377 replica???
I didn't even pay attention to it, I knew it was garbage...
👊🏻👍🏻
Pal iam watching to find out fps you wouldn't tell us ..bye drama
Аз пък ще хвърля кросман умарекс стреля добре с леки и тежки сачми
oh forgot to mention I have the crossman
