I meet Jan's cousin today. Best day I've had in a long time. He played drums in the 80s so he knew all the hair bands too. Got lots of good dirt. I told him to make sure his cousin knew she was my idol. That the entire group was my idol. When he said his cousin played in viven I could tell he didn't think I would know them. Boy was he wrong. Viven meant the world to so many young girls who wanted to rock. They started a revolution in the music industry. Whereas the runaways might have come first and a couple solo acts like Lita Ford or Joan jett. But it was viven that showed the world that girls/womem can rock just as hard as the men could.
These ladies have no clue how many lives they changed. I wasn't musically inclined but I used their example to crush it several other male dominated industries. Their punk rock attitudes and 80s hardcore rock helped break a lot of glass ceilings. I hope you women know how much you meant to an entire generation and beyond. Even my son and his friends prefer the 80s to the crap they call music today.
You are true women leaders. You are what we need to show these young girls they don't have to beg or legislate their way to tht top... you earn it and then you take it! And damn whoever doesn't like it.

I'd rather be a child of the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, but those that were adolescents or above in the 80s really had it made, what a great time. I had the 90s....blah. Nirvana, lame. In 1988, when this came out, we also had Lita Ford's, 💋 kiss me deadly, femme fatale s, waiting for the big one, all over MTV/ radio. Those were the good old days. I believe both Saraya/debut album and Fiona's/ heart❤ like a gun, came out in 89, another great year for female, and rock and roll, I. General.
