    Zen 5 vs Arrow Lake CPUs - Specs, Price, & Release Dates
    AMD's Zen 5 Ryzen 9000 CPUs including the 9950X, 9900X, 9700X, and 9600X will be launching this year bringing anywhere from 10-40% more performance if leaks are to be believed. At the same time Intel will be releasing a major architecture update with their 15th gen Arrow Lake CPUs going by Core Ultra 200 now. This series of processors should include the Intel Core Ultra 285K, 265K, and 245K and also release this year with major IPC improvements. The only question is, which one should you buy, and who will have the fastest CPU in 2024?

      I don't know why but I feel like this is karma for Intel..
      For generations they have been making shitty processors with barely any improvement and priced more and more. Now Intel is in a sht position where their processors are not reliable and if they are it's just a matter of time when they aren't. They have been fooling us for so damm long now since Lisa Su stepped in for AMD everything about AMD has changed and improved so much to the points Intel is behind. They're so desperate that they opened new FABS and due to that the 15th gen will be hella expensive (as they need to increase prices to cover the costs) only the top products will be good anything mid-low tier are a waste. Intel will try to buy other company to cheat their scores from benchmarks to make them look good that's how dirty Intel is no wonder Jim Keller and Raja Koduri left Intel they lost trust in them and they know AMD's CPU are now the best in notebooks/mobile/datacenter/server/handheld/console and soon also desktop, but Intel is soo desperate that they need help and Nvidia has decided to help Intel

If Intel wins, it will only be to our advantage : AMD's reaction could be interesting in terms of price and future processor. It's interesting to see both Intel and AMD moving their asses.
    If only they could do the same for graphics cards. I'm really curious to see the evolution in 5 years of the CG and processor market even if I have the impression that Intel will no longer be on the CG side.

    I think you are wrong on a few points. The socket is bigger " LGA 1851" One of the biggest sockets ever. and they need to compete, so they will just turn off hyperthreading sure.... but add more P cores to make up the difference which in turn will drive up the power requirements, the socket itself also is kind of a dead give away having so many more pins. They need that bandwith and power so yeah good try though

      @oappi4686 3 месяца назад

      well, intel's node has been more advanced than similarly named TSMC node so makes sense that they don't refer to real world values anymore. I would honestly be surprised if Intel cpu used less power than AMD one and if that is the case I don't think they would be ahead if both gained 25% performance. Intel bruteforced ahead of AMD:s X3D chips with insane power demand by pushing up to 300W to those chips, while for AMD it was impossible to go much over 120-170W spec because cache sitting on top of cpu core would burn up. it seems though that Intel chips didn't really like intel's plan and are now breaking up. Personally, I think intel cannot really cry about their partners going over the spec as they were happily watching those review benchmark been close or ahead of amd chips. If they had a problem with power values, they should have spoken then, not after users are noticing their CPU:s are malfunctioning months after the fact.

    both are tied ....same performance and difference is vast when amd depend on intel x86 smt tech while intel went all pure 64bit only threading process is huge advantage for software and games execute code vs amd still relying outdated SMT that split the 64 bit to 32bit for memory address while executing 64bit code in lagging way that like all HT and SMT tech...all depend one thread at a time due the tech is not RISC. Intel know this well that SMT not gonna last forever when games are no longer accessing in comfort of 8gb vram instruction sets ....now they are asking 16gb to 24gb instructions to be process and copy to system ram in huge table size ....SMT barely can do 8gb at a time vs without -smt ...it can free its threads from waiting instruction to be process that can go up to 64gb table without wait...more the cores the better for threads can process in parallel same time...first time intel using paralleling threads not serial threads

    Some of the Zen 5 bits are obviously inaccurate. Like Zen 4 pcie lanes are already 24+4. Also too many people are misatributing the x3D issue with both CCDs not having the extra cache being the source of consistency issues. The issue was always a thing for dual CCDs CPUs in certain games because of game threads getting bumped to the opposite CCD that didnt have its cache populated, before X3D was a thing. More empty cache is still empty, which is why dual x3d didnt provide any benefit. The 7950X3D only trades about 8% performance in any other workload you would be considering a 16 core for vs the 7950x. It makes no sense to wish for a future iteration to give up more.

    The whole premise of Intel having lower latency because of monolithic design is as flawed as it gets. First of all p cores and e cores are on separate tiles. Second is that latency is directly related to cache speed and since that node looks like immature thus they need to lower core speed doesn't sound like all of sudden gonna have faster cache.
    Then another out of hat assumption that Intel gonna have lower TDP. They drop HT and lower cpu clocks because because the node is so awesome they now want a perf per wat win? Hahaha, sure do.

    I do not understand, who ever buys an intel CPU. AM5 has a better and lonnger term support, sso with a decent board the users do not have to replace their MOBO, just replace the CPU in it. And I am sure, that this time around will all 7000 CPUs be cheaper and then much more poeple will buy them with AM5 MOBOs. What is important, the PCI-E 5.0 support and VRM cooling. I on my side would only buy a Gigabyte board. I see, that even at AM4 they still have a very good support and very few HW defect.

  • @deilusi
    @deilusi 3 месяца назад

    So, we claim intel will HALVE power usage while keeping single clock at stupidly high ?
    that sounds like assumption they changed everything, and it will work from the start.
    IMHO we are 2 gens away from that, first with significant shift will most likely have speed regressions in MT, and most likely st as well, but power draw will be ok (finally).
    then next gen will give them 15-20% on both st and mt.
