All the great jazz,Blues musicians, athletic Legends Got that Plantation DNA. " I am Just saying"... You don't want to talk about the Soul Sister that sing from the deepest pain derived from picking cotton rain or shine.Hendrix threw here my train coming. Root lady, boot leg, Y'all don't have a clue about chitlin,s Hawg maws, All those ingredients from the Soul Brothers and sisters,Bigg Momma. You can understand what Jimi was about by his own words, what he actually said vs what people later interpreted him to be after his death....and with Jimi, you were basically legit and therefore respected or you were "jive", and if you were jive, he wasn't angry about it but didn't he just didn't want to bother with you. Jimi respected and appreciated talent and didn't think black people had a "corner" on any type of music. He actually thought Elvis was a good blues singer and the way Chas Chandler got Jimi to come to England was on the promise that he could meet Eric Clapton. White and black didn't matter to Jimi. Being good at what you did and sincere in what you were putting across did matter. Jimi appreciated all types of music. He was friends with the Beatles and Joni Mitchell and had a Johnny Cash album in his apartment the night he died.

I agree and I get what your saying. Aint real 'bluesman', and neither was Jimi. Real bluesman was Lightnin Hopkins, real bluesman was Muddy Waters, real bluesman was Blind Lemon Jefferson, real bluesman was Son House, Mother Earth Koko Taylor was a 'blues WOMAN'. Hendrix and Clapton never worked on a prison farm, sharecropped, rode the rails, worked the honky tonks in the deep south, were within a generation of slavery... There is a big difference between 'bluesman' and 'musician that plays the blues'. Made the argument many times over the years. You dont get it? You dont actually 'get' the blues. Them folks are all dead now Burnsides was one of the last. Some folks will never get it. There aint no 'bluesman' alive today just guys and gals who play the blues its two totally different things.
