I’ve been a Jimi Hendrix fan for almost 40 years and I’ve never really liked listening to Hendrix Wannabe’s. I’ve never heard this guy before but god you can tell he’s earned his stripes. Absolutely awesome playing, this is someone I would pay to see!!!
I witnessed Randy play with his tribute to Hendrix band Machine Gun in 1979 in Davis, CA. for my 15th Birthday. My brother who was 11 years older than me saw Jimi 5 times and told me this is the closest you will ever get to seeing Hendrix and the show blew me away. Nice post thank you.
Nailed! But took it in his own direction without losing it. Also kinda looks like JH when he smiles and mumbles something like, "and that's his grandma over there."
He's Really Awesome & a Far Out Brother 2 Me , I Have Met Him Several Times During His Concerts OverHere In The Netherlands , Where I'm From , I Have Good Hearted Sweet Memories , Of Those Time with Him & The Band , Most of All During The Meet & Greet after His Concerts , Hopefully I Can Soon See/Hear & Meet Him Again During a New EXP with Randy , He Rocks On Purple Haze 🤟✌😏
Musicians know that playing someone else's instrument is not the most comfortable thing to do.Feel of the neck, action and string gauge come to mind.Randy pulls it off with aplomb and especially it being a Jag vs his usual Strat. He's a star in the Pacific Northwest and keeps the legend of the incomparable Jimi Hendrix alive.Rock on Randy!
I just moved out of Washington State. Saw Randy many times. Ran into him at a Joe Walsh show in Marysville. He is the Apostle Paul of The Electric Church.
Randy IS da man! Impeccable! Beautiful. World Heritage. Speechless! What a wonderful sound-checking vibe. This man a voodoo chile.🎸🎶🎵🌶🤝🙏👀✌🤟🤘👽☠👾🤯🤩✨🎊🧨🎆🌝🚀🦽🌍🦀🥗🦠💐🦚Jimi loved comics☮🕉📵🗿🪔🪖🃏🎯🏓✨⚡🎈🌊💧🎪🌬L👀♨ve Pies🌈⛈🪂🗽💖
I hope this isn’t lost to future generations! Randy is a true high priest of the this era with the requisite musical proficiency and artistry of Jimi Hendricks. Who will or can replace this musical historian when he retires?
I enjoyed this guy. But if you're going for a tribute band, the drummer and bass player would have to step up their games and looks as well. Be your self! If you're a tribute player, be the best tribute player around. Keep up the good work! ROCK ON
Randy is so incredible. So amazing what he plays. 😊 ✌️. I ve seen him here in my hometown in Oldenburg Germany in Oktober last year in the Cadillac. Talked a little bit about guitar playing and other stuff after the show. So nice guy.. See ya next time when he is here for another show. 😊 ✌️
He even talks like Jimi ! I'm more familiar with Frank Marino and Randy California and I saw live Stevie ray a few times but this guy is the bees knees!
bonjour , je suis fan de srv,je cherche des histoires ,des moments , pour ma connaissance personnelle .je cherche aussi des enregistrements rares et photos .merci .je vous laisserai mon mail si vous voulez correspondre , encore merci.
I’d say that Hansen guy is starting to get that Hendrix tone down. Maybe if he keeps practicing at it one day he might get it. 🤕 Wow You did good pilgrim I’m praying that the Lord, God Almighty will bless me to hear you play live. In the 3 rd row.
I like jags, but hard to get that same sustain and punch as a strat, not knocking them, just a different animal. Love to have a 61. Randy blows my mind. To people that never heard of him , I'll play something by jimi, then same song by Randy, without showing, ask em who's jimi? It's about a 50/50, clearly they're guessing.
I saw an midnight performance (second show ) at the whiskey in 1979 and he started his show coming in on the floor with smoke covering him up and it was permoted as were going to see Jimi Hendrix coming from the grave. My memory is not great over all the years, but I was impressed that a skinny white boy did it fantastic
He does on the west coast and Europe he's pretty big...he's also from Seattle and knows Ann and Nancy Wilson many famous musicians are very aware of Randy the hendrix band Miles Cox redding ,Steve Vai ,Mike McCready this man is a treasure
Saw Randy in late seventies or early eighties--can't remember exactly--and he was already awesome as a Hendrix impersonator. He's only gotten better in the years since. Ironically, I don't think this is one of his better performances, but it certainly doesn't suck.
Randy is confounded by all the switches on the jag...ya a strat is so simple to navigate through a song especially on stage...the guitar looks cool and sounds cool not knocking it..
The Fender Jaguar wasn't released until 1962, that's not even an early Jag either, it's got a laminate finger board on it not a slab. Just sayin'. Randy knocked it out the park as per usual!.

Everything about this guy is perfect. The faces, the tone of his voice, his playing. He's got perfect swag for the blues.
If there's such a thing as a transfer of energy through music...this guy is the sun!! Keep shining Sir, for the sake of us all, and thank you!!!!
Freaking awesome. The man is a treasure.
Not really hes good but we've already had a stevie ray Vaughn.yhe hats a giveaway always

I saw this guy about 40 years ago at the Whiskey, on Sunset blvd. Also at the Long Beach arena. Wow .
Saw this guy at a casino north of Santa Fe NM about 10 years ago. Maybe fifty people in the audience, Randy played Hendrix flawlessly!
Solid. And on a fender jag he’s never played.
I Gotta go see Randy one of these days. He`s Been around for ages.
Love that blues version that Jimi did and love version that randy does 👍🏿
Just so ya know.....not a version Jimi covered....he wrote this gem.

Never saw Jimi Hendrix? No worries. There's Randy Hansen. He channels Hendrix. Only discovered him on RUclips the other day. Simply amazing.
I'll bet that this guy can play anything he wants to !

You never will, as the first Jaguar was made in 1962

He really in the soul of Hendrix
If Hendrix see him playing
He would give Noble price
Looks more like a '64 or '65 Jaguar. Looks to be a veneer board, not a slab. Dots look too white to be clay, more than likely pearl.
1:23 anyone else think for a second that the drummer just got scorched by a flame thrower? 😂
Beautiful Jaguar...
Saw Randy at the Paramount in Seattle 1978.
I remember seeing Randy perform on Sam Kinison's last stand up comedy appearance years ago. Great guitar player.....
i mean he's got the showmanship 🙂
The best guitarist since Hendrix, please come to the UK where Jimi found fame, the same will happen for you.
He looks just like I remember about 30 years ago when I saw him in Hollywood.
Me too. He played the Point East in Lynwood, IL. around 1985. AMAZIMG hes still doing it!
This guy should be playing bigger venues and at least opening for some major acts. Awesome!!
He should , but I'd rather see him in a smaller place. Always a better experience

He has gigged with Steve Vai.
Should be playing bigger venues and at least opening for some major acts. Amazing🎸
Seen him open for Doucette twice, I think. 70's.
Saw Randy in late seventies or early eighties--can't remember exactly--and he was already awesome as a Hendrix impersonator. He's only gotten better in the years since. Ironically, I don't think this is one of his better performances, but it certainly doesn't suck.
How did you learn to sing that so well ? Excellent job!!!!
dude has balls for picking up a guitar that wasnt his. Guitars are like horses u gotta tame them
SRV called he said he wants his look back! Kidding this guy is killing this song on a very beautiful Jaguar!🐆🎸👍🏼
Randy is confounded by all the switches on the jag...ya a strat is so simple to navigate through a song especially on stage...the guitar looks cool and sounds cool not knocking it..
is that drummer the same dude that captained that crab boat on The Deadliest Catch on AandE.. Sig Hanson was his name i think...
When he connects with the guitar the whole thing changes
Super cool...
😳 Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Hendrix and Gary Moore are both rolling over.
Moore is the KING
That Jag has a Robin Trower sound..
“I don’t know this guitar very well”
*proceeds to know the guitar*
🤣
Hendrix put his soul in to it
So did Dad get his fender back with a broken string? lol
Is this guy one of the Hanson's pop band? Or am I off track here?
No , this man is an incredible guitarist . Plus a great guy
Muito bom, aumenta que isso ai é rock'n roll
white jimi?
Saw Randy open for Rainbow in 79. He almost upstaged Rainbow.
damn fine playing
Yes Randy
61’ jaguar?.. That has to be a prototype or something then?
It’s a 62. There are no prototypes on the market,
It was my dads. He bought it new and was only owner. It's a 61
Take the neck off and look at what date is stamped on the heal, you may learn something
Randy Hansen was a friend of Stevie Ray Vaughan, he also introduced the Floyd Rose whammy bar to Eddie Van Halen.
Bravo
He kicks ass on electric guitar. Saw him at Galactica, Sacramento 1982.
Nice Jag
The Fender Jaguar was first made in 1962.
Hes been doing this same ole stuff since the 70’s
The Fender Jaguar wasn't released until 1962, that's not even an early Jag either, it's got a laminate finger board on it not a slab.
Just sayin'.
Randy knocked it out the park as per usual!.
Unless that Fender Jaguar is a Prototype guitar its definitely not a 61 as these were introduced in 1962
Sick!! 💚🎸
Man you need to get your ass out the Massachusetts so I can see you play
Randy? Is he the rockabilly guy in disguise?
