- I give you tips on how to make your paint jobs turn out like this!
I had do a voice over but this is the final product before the 2K clear coat goes on.The car will be clear coated with high quality clear coat.

Love this!!!! I'm currently sanding my car down and I lost some inspiration because of people looking at how ugly it is right now but this gave me the inspiration I needed to finish painting my car with a spray can thank you dude 🔥
Rustoleum needs to hook you up with a couple cases of paint at least for putting their name out there on damn near ever project. Thanks for the videos bro.

Good on you for actually applying some 2k clear. Unbeknownst to most people the base color coat is the thinnest and weakest part of any paint job, for the most part it doesn't matter what you actually use for the base coat, if you use a good 2k primer and 2k clear you'll have a great looking paint job. The main reason for a 2k formulated base coat is because chemically it is more resistant to fading and abuse, but so are some high quality spray cans. Prep time and practice can make any paint job high quality

He's right it does take practice to use spray cans and once u get it down right ull get perfection ... I've done a lot of cars with spray cans and it came out good ... You did an awesome job on ur car I love it!!

AutoIngenuity Thanks. I feel like everyone should have the chance to do something that looks great 👍🏻 and once they can afford to go spray gun they will have a decent foundation as to how paint lays and what not. Practice more than anything and it’s super cheap

I painted my door handles just like you did only with color match same as my center conceal handle shift knob numbers painted the knob itself black some vent pieces the srs and air bag I did those. Going to repaint the car soon. Going to do it same way you did. Awesome job
So I did a paint job after watching your videos. My results were super nice. I had runs so I had to compound the car. It was an extreme makeover. Thanks for the recommendation.

Very nice man ! I did a rustoleum dark blue job on an 84 crx years ago and it turned out great. Did the 2k clear with UV inhibitors and it held up well.

MTBG lawn care Thanks. A lot of practice to get this far. I used to suck at both painting and taping about 9yrs ago. It could have came out better had I used the 2k clear and wet sand and buffed but it won an award in this condition so can’t complain and it still looks this good.

looks great! I have used the 2x primer = paint on just about everything chairs outdoor metal always turned out great and durable then i decided to use the apple red gloss on a Ferrari hydroplane 1/8th model the initial coat turn out ok then i waited 24hrs after sanding resprayed it .. it fried up wrinkle horribly! you have to either spray it right away with 20 min as many coats or have to wait 3 days to cure before respraying and use the rustoleum enamel clear within 20 minutes after the final base .. and you will be ok you want the clear to melt with the base ..
It's all in the preparation

If you’re getting awards with that, then the 2K after drying and any necessary refinement should be getting you first place trophies all over. Haha I personally wouldn’t say it’s amazing as shown in the video, but I would be lying if I said it wasn’t impressive. Good work man. Love your vids. 🙂
thanks much. it looks better in person you can see the details better in person it layed down really well. and the video quality is crap. But it looks alot better since its all fixed just Cant wait to see it wet sanded cleared then wet sanded and buffed. Should look great!

I used to have a solar yellow and I loved the bright yellow but orange looks so much better! Nice job man! Why do you not have OEM SRT4 rear bumper cover though?
Just did my daughters Neon the same but could. Have been shinier. Daughter loved it. Needs clear coat. Yours is beautiful . Can't wait for your clear coat video.

Mike Fleming I have sold it in late December. I have other videos of cars I have done updates on how they look after painting them. They hold up really good as long as they are prepped right and taken care of.

Chip Henley yep it’s spray can and it still holding up pretty decent to this day and a guy in Missouri owns it now. Spray can hold up perfectly fine if it’s prepped right and use the right stuff now if I could’ve added the 2K clear before it sold it it would look like a spraygun paint job which I guess it kind of already did look like a spraygun paint job just without the clear. I might do an update video if I can get back a hold of the guy
can get great results rolling it on just more elbow grease to get that nice mirror finish

everything you have done looks amazing. this was awesome. I have tried to read all the comments which are a lot, as not to ask the same questions. I also wanted to say sorry for the bad time you had as well. so this is what I got, I am painting a raggy jeep that's a beast. I got that you sanded with 220-320 to 400 and then you primed it with Dupi-color primer. then you wet sanded that with soapy dawn water with 400 grit after a day drying and then you applied color which was Rustoleum 2X American accents ultra coverage. then if you clear coat if you had not sold it, you would wet sand again with 400 soapy water and use what? 2x clear but I must have missed it, there are so many comments. 2X clear what? in a spray can and what kind would you have used? thanks a bunch.
animalover1963 2K clear not the 2X that 2X clear sucks and it’s not a 2 part like the spray max 2k clear is. But everything else is spot on.
@@JamesDguy Thank you! got it painted ran low on the doors before even using 2K so I didn't. so now not sure if I should leave it as is because of reading about crazing? since you are a pro at this you probably never ran short. lol appreciate the feedback.

James Dguy Yep, I found it right after I typed that message. Pretty impressive. I’ve been spray painting for years with rattle cans, but tiger striping still plagues me on big panels. You mention a couple things in your video I haven’t considered before, so I’m gonna give it another go keeping your ideas in mind. Thanks!
Sounds amazing! Hope u can get stripes to a minimum . I fought them stripes for many years! Best thing to do is not in hot weather, Not in sun light.. EVER. Make sure its cooler and when u start for no reason stop. Make the coat really wet and ur good. Let me know how it goes.

The body looks amazing, but I worry about the paint on the valve cover. Heat is nasty to paint.
If you use a heat resistant primer and clear, they will protect the paint.

I didn't keep track but i did use 2 cans per panel. Basically painted each fender, Door so on. I painted as much would cover then let dry for about 5-10mins the recoated as many times as i could. I would say all in all 20 would be my guess. Just so i made sure i had enough coats on it. Any left over will be on the door jams.

This looks incredible. I need to do this to my car. I think I heard you say you did this one panel at a time. So basically, you painted a door then let it dry for a couple days then, taped that door off and painted another door?
Also, used to live in Ottawa, KS big car cruise up their each year.
thanks and yea but I only let it dry over night. Dont use super cheap tape use the blue painters tape or it will either stick to ur paint and suck to get off or it will pull the paint off and if the temperature was cooler out i could have done 2 panels or more at a time but controlling over spray made it turn out better. I controlled overspray by doing 1 panel at a time also

I ask only cuz I honesy don't want to the jambs just the outside.
Mike P I actually have done a lot of paint jobs but when I painted black cars black I never did the jambs and like my Honda Pilot I bed lined matte black I didn’t do the jambs and no one has ever mentioned it looking tacky even won first place at a car show.
