@@ddoodm You're welcome! I do remember the time when people were mostly content with pirating or using the trial or student versions of 3ds Max as it is what the plugins for GTA-specific file formats were made for. Good thing that Blender 2.8 and up are now far easier to pick up and play.
@@blakegriplingph yeah you're so right actually - also I think max is harder to pirate these days, and honestly I think blender is just better suited to game dev anyway (who wants to code in maxscript hahah)
Thanks sooo much for that @user-jl7hf7zf5v 😭💚 - I feel so bad for not continuing this now 😆, thank you for the inspiration~ !! I'll try my best to find time for more tuts asap~
I managed to load a GTA file for the first time, I really hope that you make a series out of it. There is one for 3DS Max but the program is not cheap.
hey thank you for this great tutorial bringing back memories! i tried this step by step, had no errors what so ever, exported from blender and imported it to the modloader, the game is not crashing but its not showing the mesh in the game? have you had that issue?
@@tolgoo thanks so much for that!!! 😊😊 Yes I have had that happen and I don't think I ever narrowed down the cause 😥 - try using modloader and check the modloader logs to see if there are issues like conflicting IDs and whatnot. Otherwise try verify the material settings as GTA is super picky about that. Good luck 🤞
@ hey! i figured out the issue: when exporting from blender the collection/mesh name is „XYZ“ - your folder in the modloader has to have the same name for the game to recognize the mesh. so the path is as follows: “gta sa folder\modloader\XYZ (same as the blender collection/mesh”
Thank you for this wonderful video. Unfortunately, my old laptop turns off the "Blender" during the import of scene files (import map section). Could you please upload a BLEND file with the full map? The map itself works fine, but crashes when importing sections. You would be a great help to me and other people who have faced the same problem.
Yeah good question!! You can use Steve m's map cleaner to delete the whole map and then use the same method shown in this video but with lower id numbers. steve-m.com/news/43/map-cleaner-available/
@@TheManyUpdate Ohh if it's an entire map with several models, there are a few more steps sorry 🥲 - DragonFF currently doesn't support map export, so you'd probably have to do some scripting to export all of the IPL and IDE data in bulk
Yea it's pretty weird, it does export to dff but you either have to rename your collections so they end in ".dff" or rename the output files. But the more annoying issue is it doesn't reset transforms iirc.
Right now you have to modify the map import python script to include the IPL in its hard coded list. See here github.com/Parik27/DragonFF/issues/267 I really want to fix this haha
The legend is back!
Thanks soo much ☺☺, welcome back to you too haha
He's back! Please do a character tutorial with DragonDFF!

this is gold, thank you very much

Thanks so much for keeping me there over a decade hahaha 😉

Can you remade youre 3dmax gta SA tutorial for blender? Please
can you make a tutorial about weapon texture modeling
When i click import map selection, the models doesn't appear
how to find id of an object? "mapping object"
why do you have id 18631?
Awesome video, Bit too long though
@@macro123orsmthidk thanks for that! Yea there should be fewer steps in the next one and I'll try to make it more concise next time. Cheers 😎😎
my object is in blender really small and in game really big any advice?
Try apply transforms to your object (ctrl + A and select "scale") - that should bake in the scale of your object to the actual mesh
what if i want to erease the map and put a map that I made in blender?
Yeah good question!! You can use Steve m's map cleaner to delete the whole map and then use the same method shown in this video but with lower id numbers. steve-m.com/news/43/map-cleaner-available/
I have a map model can i imoprt it on gta sa im new in blender
Yeah for sure, you should be able to follow the steps in this video but import the model instead of creating one - lmk if you need any more help
@ddoodm it's a game map so I can import it ??
@@TheManyUpdate Ohh if it's an entire map with several models, there are a few more steps sorry 🥲 - DragonFF currently doesn't support map export, so you'd probably have to do some scripting to export all of the IPL and IDE data in bulk
Hi, there is a question mark appearing in my game instead of the model.
@@soitk1825 wow I've never heard of that before haha - are you playing the remastered GTA SA?
@ddoodm It was samp extra models which was conflicting with the Object ID.
@soitk1825 ohhhh interesting, thanks for the update
What is even the point of mass export and it’s not exporting the models to dff
Yea it's pretty weird, it does export to dff but you either have to rename your collections so they end in ".dff" or rename the output files. But the more annoying issue is it doesn't reset transforms iirc.
It would be perfect for exporting whole maps but I think needs a few things fixed first (yay open source)
Next part plsss 😍😍
💚💚 sorry for the delay on it 🥹

How to import custom ipl?
