Ha! We've been doing this style of video for YEARS! I guess it just so happens that a lot of more recent videos have been just POVs. We aren't always fortunate to be able to get this much footage of rides, sometimes.

The pov at the beginning looks really fast but when Robb faces the camera at him at 3:24, it looks absolutely *incredible*
I took Do-dodonpa last month.
I felt my soul was left at the launch point when the coaster was shooting out.

This coaster was closed due to people supposedly breaking their backs and necks during the ride, ouch.

Probably because they leaned foward during the launch of the coaster
This ride was just shut down indefinitely to investigate people getting sever injuries like broken bones. crazy
That is literally why I found this video, I saw the report and had to see why. Honestly most of those injuries are probably from people not keeping their head back at launch.

Just got back from Japan, and went to Fuji Q. This ride was incredible! 0-112 in less then 2 secs. Went on 3 times and you still never expect that launch!!!

Fun fact: This ride pulls 3.43 g's during the launch. So basically, this is what you ride when you want to experience a rocket launch, without the need for the rocket.
Except it lasts 2 minutes in a rocket ship. Not less than 1.5s. So no, you did not experience anything even a tiny bit remotely close to a rocket launch lol.
I did the announcements for that ride. After the 3-2-1 I say Do Dodopa- but the ride is gone by that time.
If you pay attention. I think you may be able to hear a "do".

I heard the staff is the one who decides the launch timing and they mess with the timing some time. When I rode the old dodonpa, they waited for like 3 seconds after the countdown then it launched right when I got into "oh, not yet?" mode.
Major props for holding that camera perfectly in place while going 0-112mph in 1.7 seconds!!

i have been on this coaster - no video will ever do it justice. notice that people start screaming of swearing after leaving the tunnel. because until them you are still processing the g's on your body and just the insane accelaration. It is not overstated when stated that, it feels like you moved so fast that you left your shadow behind.
Dodonpa's name comes from the Japanese anime Dragon Ball. The name of the technique of Tenshinhan, Tao Pai Pai and Chaoz. With love from Japan.😇 say dodonpa!

Andrew Rivera well actually the g force experienced is like that of being launched in the space shuttle. Xcelerator or top thrill dragster would be like an aircraft carrier

To give that acceleration some scale, Kingda Ka's acceleration is 53.6 ft/s^2. Formula Rossa's acceleration is 54.7 ft/s^2. Do-Dodonpa's acceleration is 102.6 ft/s^2!!! I need to get on this coaster ASAP!

@@fwutig1121 Do-Dodonpa is uses compressed air for the launch system. Whenever you build an air powered roller coaster in RollerCoaster Tycoon, its default name is Air Powered Coaster 1.

I think it’s because people don’t understand the launch and lean forward then when it launches they go back really quickly and break a bone
From leaning forward during the launch of the coaster, then you get thrown violently backwards from whiplash and break bones

I went on this recently, what a rush!! The anticipation before the launch was killing me but omg the launch was INSANE and the vids just can't do it justice as to how intense it actually is!

It launches so hard that your ancestors feel it. Faster than you can even comprehend, so much fun.
In case you haven't heard.... This coaster has officially been shut down. 4-6 people have suffered broken backs or necks, so they've closed the ride for the time being
It's been operating since 2001.

I just looked on the Fuji-Q Highland website. This ride actually has a age limit of no more than 64 years old! I've only got 15 years left to ride it!
I rode it last summer and the launch was insane!

The best thing about Dodonpa (and dododonpa) is the launch for two reasons:
1) its insanely fast
2) Alvey cant complain on lift hills

I've been on most of the tallest, fastest & quickest coasters in the world, and this one looks intense! I will have to visit Japan one day and ride it, as well as the one full circuit lift hill Giga that I'm missing...Steel Dragon 2000. (Still also need Red Force & Tower Of Terror)
