    You guys are great at explaining the creation, conversion, and digitizing process, step-by-step, that's required to embroider an image/logo. It's amazing that folk will charge upwards of $30-$40 to do this. I wish you and your daughter success. More vids please.

    I found y'all's channel because of Inkscape/Inkstitch and the trouble I was having trying to figure things out from the official tutorials.
    I haven't watched all of your tutorials yet but just this one and the one about Bitmap Tracing have helped me to create my first embroidery design and I'm looking forward to making more of them. So thank you very much for the tutorials.

    It's refreshing to see a Dad and Daughter project, let's learn together. It's a great idea and very refreshing. in regards to the training, clear and concise. I was looking for embroidery files for a friend of mine as to how to make one, or export one that they could use when I came across this one. it answered all my questions. I'm not an Inkscape user (more Vcarve and Lightburn) for my cnc router and laser. you have to limit your software expertise so you can use one or two very well, and just export what is needed for your machine. lastly, I actually took an .svg file from my Vcarve software, and imported it to Inkscape, no work done to it, went straight to InkStich and made an .pes file. perfect. Thank you. have fun, embrace, as they are not young for long.

    This tutorial is great! For the base layer, I've followed it and gotten a perfect base! But, when it comes to the outline/eye portion in black, I keep breaking needles and dislodging my fabric, and end up with bunched clumps of thread under the fabric. Is the base too thick? Do you have any tips?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  21 день назад +1

      There are a number of reasons things that can cause issues in embroidery. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you troubleshoot, fabric thickness, needle type, how many layers you are you trying to embroider versus what your machine can handle, etc. Our machine struggles after 3 layers of stitches. You could try excluding the fill layer under the eyeball, check out this video where we show how to do that:
      ruclips.net/video/OU22JGOFFsY/видео.html
      This video will cover updates, and you may want to change your outline stitch by Converting Line to Satin included in this updated video: ruclips.net/video/iqLGE7gDG_A/видео.html
      You could also check out stitch density issues by going to:
      Run Extensions > Ink/Stitch > Visualize and Export > Density Map (You can find the info on the Ink/Stitch Website about the density map: inkstitch.org/docs/visualize/)
      Make sure you check out some of our most recent videos on Ink/Stitch in our playlist since there have been several updates and tips making the process easier! ruclips.net/video/mPaGwjwpzWc/видео.html

Try selecting all of your project and go to “Path”>”Object to path.” If this doesn’t work, follow the troubleshoot link your error above brings you, this will usually tell you exactly what is wrong with one or more of your objects. Your videos are awesome! I've searched everyone's comments and questions and can't seem to see anyone with my issue. I purchased a PES and now own a Janome so need it in JEF. Hoping I can do it here. But when I first open the PES file, I get all the little scissor images. How do I eliminate them. I tried the "shift, click the little X to the left of the color palette at the bottom but my design disappears leaving just the scissors; which would be great if I could erase and step back but that won't work as you know 🤦‍♀. What to do . .

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching! Once you have imported your .pes (file>import), to get rid of the scissors you can ungroup your design from them, you can do this by going to Object>Ungroup when you have your design selected. Additionally, to save your design select File>Save As, and select JEF.

    Your videos are so helpful! I am just trying to do my first design. It is only two colors...black and white. All the areas stitched out fine except for the very largest area. It did the underlay, but not the final top stitching. I used autofill, so nothing different for each layer. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong?

      Hmm, that’s a strange one… when you select just that problem object (vs the whole design) in params, is there any difference? Are the params settings different?

    hi, thanks for your video, very informative and helpful ! do you know by any chance if the followings functions are available in inkspace (they come from the bernina software) : globe effect, 3D effect, fluffy letters effect, distortion effect (seen on the bernina B880), trapunto effect, color wheel/shuffling, being able to remove any jump stitch, being able to group the colors so you don't have to change the bobbins as much, being able to choose the direction and form of the stitches inside a design and so on ? Thanks a lot !

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 года назад

      Hello there, thanks for watching! Of the effects you mentioned, there are only a few that Inkstitch has natively (ability to program cutting jump stitches (though this doesn't work with our machine, Brother SE1900), grouping of colors, and direction of stitch). Grouping of colors is actually more of a manual process of organizing your design, but it does the trick... direction of stitch is adjustable by degree of stitch angle in params. This is very rudimentary embroidery software, and does not have all the effects that you could find in paid embroidery software. Hope this helps!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  Год назад

      Hi! If you want to make the border around the bunny bigger, you can click the “Object” menu at the top of the Inkscape window, then select “Fill and Stroke”. A new tab should appear at the right where you can select “Stroke Style”, from there you can increase the width. Hope this helps!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  8 месяцев назад

      Hi! You may have a fill color selected instead of a stroke on your design. In order to fix this, you can click the X on the left of the color palette and hold shift and press a color to have an outline. Thanks for watching, hope this helps!

    Hey guys!! Appreciate all the hep from your channel! I have 1 random question.. I have an already digitized file I opened in inkstitch and wanted to make it a bit bigger for a hat so increased it from 4 inches to 4.75 inches. Well it keeps the same stitch out, correct? so the density needs increased quite a bit right. So I open params and its a running stitch so I want to change the zig zag stitch from .4 to maybe .3 or .2 to increase the density? Does that make sense or sound correct? If so, when I do that the stitch out/density doesn't change at all. Am I doing it all wrong? or need to change something? I cannot figure it out at all. I would greatly appreciate any help you could give. Thanks again guys!!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching! No, if you increase the size of the .svg file and reexport as a .pes, the stitch density should readjust itself to give your same param settings. Hope this helps!

    Hello there! I enjoy your informative and fun videos. I utilize a mac and recently downloaded inkstitch's latest version. It's missing a good deal of the sub options you speak about. For example the embroidery params only give 3 auto options. This eliminates the option to bean the stitch etc. I am wondering if it's possible that my antivirus system prevented a full download. I used the forums to inquire, but haven't heard back. Do you guys know of a way around? Or do you know a source to upload the folders like you did on your video? They don't appear on the site anymore. Thanks a million!

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  2 года назад

      Hello there! Do you know what version of Inkscape & inkstitch you're running? Our install in this video is of an older version. Given how you describe it, it doesn't sound like your anti-virus prevented a full install, as typically if it did, you wouldn't be able to run params at all.

    Helpful! One question, is the traced outline always necessary for the design? If you wanted just the bunny without the black lines around it would that be possible?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 года назад

      The tracing (black lines) does not need to be included in your embroidery. It is however necessary to define your full shape. Once you are complete with your tracing, and filled it with color, you can select the object and hit “shift” and the “X” in the far left of your color palette. Hope this helps!

    Thanks for the video but I have one problem. I tried it like 100 times. Everything is working until I try to "delete" the first satin stitch line. It only erases the colours but not the satin stitch. I am grateful about any help.

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for this comment! We didn’t discuss this in our video, but when we created our fill layer, we had to remove the stroke by hitting “shift” then selected the “X” in the far left of the color field. The satin stitch is a function of the stroke, changing the color of the stroke line in your design will not remove the satin stitch it will produce. Really hope this helps!
