As a torah-observant messianic fellowship we really appreiciated your approach in the first 13 minutes to Diego's question. This is one way we actually teach the Torah, many Laws may not be directly applicable (e.g laws for farmers or kings) but we can find spiritual Godly wisdom inside that is indefinitely applicable.
We too agree the Torah is not an entry point (Yeshua/Jesus is the door) although we believe it is a spiritual process of santification, giving us a clear definition of what sin is. Not just basing sin upon feelings and us reading our culture into the word, which like-wise can be just as dangerous as us applying their culture norms to our life. It is a balance of Spirit and Truth, guidance anchored in the Word.
    Shalom

Very wise comment. Exactly! We know what sin is because we have a checklist we can refer to. That checklist is God's Law. The same Law Jesus said will never be abolished (not a single jot or iota) will be removed from that law until the end of time. I take Jesus very straightforward and serious on this matter, and I do not like to play word gymnastics and interpretative acrobats as modern Christians tend to do.

Mind that the law was made for the nation of Israel, Deuteronomy repeatedly states the benefit of following the law is long life and blessing in the land.
To violate the law is to invite destruction and not live long in the land.
They violated the law and the nation was destroyed.
But god knew they were rebellious before he even chose them. Isaiah points out he knew you were rebels before you were even born.
It is all part of GOD's plan to redeem and save as many as he can.
Where the law was to bring blessing and a permanent land to the Hebrews, the Messiah does far more in defeating death and returning humanity to Eden one day.

This was SO rich! I love the way they broke this down. Usually I thought and have heard the classifications of Torah as ceremonial, civil and moral and thought it was a good distinction but you guys help us to break this down into thinking the way we should about the Bible. Although we aren’t ancient Israelites, as God’s Word, all things are profitable for knowledge, teaching and correction! As the NT says too. So we don’t disregard but search and ask the HS for wisdom about things we may not understand or that don’t appear applicable to the time we are in right now

I was raised learning the Torah, keeping the ten commandments, feast days and not celebrating any pagan days including my own birthday. I believed to be raised under a cult because as a child i didn't seek to understand and maybe because my parent didn't check to see if I understood. However, my journey has been long and still is ongoing by His unfailing mercy. I don't reverence the Torah the way I was trained simply because my belief is Holy Spirit revealed my actions were more of works of the law rather than FAITH in Yehsua the Messiah. I do still honor and reverence (fear) God's Word His Son with clearer picture of Him establishing and sending the Word to do His great works. Also the Sabbath it's Elohim Holy day not mine. He gave me freedom through reading the Book of Hebrews and Leviticus along each other to remind me His will is that I do everything in Faith through Faith in His Son. Yeshua is who the Father was preparing Israel and us for because of law of sin. Now that He has come we are waiting on Him to fulfill the remainder of scripture. My rest (shabbot) is in Him. My shalom is in Him, Yeshua the Son of the living Hashem. Ezekiel speaks of a time to come when some not all feast day and the sabbath will come again. Until that time Yeshua has given us the New Covenant His Blood/Communion. The Savior encourages us to come and follow Him. To come and learn from Him. I give thanks and thank The Father for Moses, David, Joseph, Daniel, and many other He anointed to revealed Himself(Father, His Son, and Holy Spirit). And now that One , Himself, is Son The Messiah. In the Messiah, the Anointed we can do all things including honor the law of God and not the law of sin. This can only be fulfilled and manifested by Yeshua the Messiah. Evidence is His Presence Holy Spirit and our Testimonies of His Presence. You will know them by their fruit not the law. I've been curious that scripture states "against such things there is no law" the things that make you go hmmmm. Sit at His feet and He will teach and reveal himself.

Thank you for your comment, Veronica. I went from a church that taught there is no law and do whatever you want Jesus covers it all, to Yah waking me up saying, "that's not what My Word actually says." I was living a carnal christian life, not obedient like Jesus commanded. I like your statement "honor the law of God not the law of sin". Yeshua does cover all, and obedience to the laws are protection from the world, fallen entities, demonic oppression, illness, and self centeredness. I hear groups adding to the law [can't celebrate a birthday you mention] and taking away [there is no more law] to which we're to do neither. We just have to make sure we don't bring pagan things into our lives: birthday candles and wishes, Christmas [saternalia] and Easter [ishtar] times and traditions, etc. Yeshua was born in September. I was also taught "new covenant" meant the old was gone; but the Holy Spirit taught it's just been upgraded and still in play in Jesus Yahushuah Ha'Mashiach. He's doing the priestly laws [once that is continual]. I think seeing the fruit is seeing a believer do the law [what Yah asks of us and how we live]. We do need a physical rest along with rest in Messiah. There is no law against the fruits of the Spirit: meaning do all these, they're not forbidden. There are some "customs" Yah had people do that are gone: circumcision of he flesh for example. I agree, sit at His feet and let Him teach. Shalom sister, love you, and Yah bless.

@Miah Quinones Sorry, I was confused too. Most people say we don't have to worry about the law because it is all summed up by love God and love your neighbor. I just gave a few laws that need special revelation to know them. You are right in stating we must study His Word/Law to love God. Loving God is abiding by His laws.
God's law is now written on our hearts. Which I understand now, because as I grew, I got more and more guilt in my heart for ignoring His law as if it hardly applies anymore. This conviction was written on my heart. But, then I wondered why other Christians have no guilt in living more and more like the world (i.e. secular activities and immodest practices). I was wondering: Is the Law of God not written on their hearts? And, my father mentioned that all believers per Scripture have the Law of God on their hearts, but the idea of quenching the Spirit exists-- we can choose to ignore the Holy Spirit and draw closely to God and seeking His ways.
Anyways, clearly some Christians who desire to love God with all of their hearts have been pulled toward Jesus's ministry and declaration of observance of the Law. I have every fleshly desire to excuse myself from it, but I cannot reason to such successfully. Jesus either meant what He said, or we can play word gymnastics and contort its meaning to our desire as an excuse.

@@micahwright1578 Thanks for sharing. It's encouraging to hear about your journey. I worked in a church for a long time and often heard (and most likely taught) that the law was no longer applicable because Jesus fulfilled it, so we were no longer obligated to observe it. One day, my brother-in-law (who was the former pastor of my church) challenged my thinking on all of this. I started studying more on my own and soon realized how much I really didn't know. That time was one of the greatest turning points in my life. It was then that I began to realize the truth in David's words: "The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; the statutes if the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes... Moreover by them your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward' (Psalm 19:7-8, 11).
Many see the laws as legalistic or outdated--and I once did as well--but nothing could be further from the truth. These misconceptions are a reflection of our own hearts and blindness. Every law--even the ones you mentioned in your previous post-- teaches us about the heart, the mind, and the desire of God. If we harden our hearts toward them, or dismiss them as irrelevant then we miss the depth that they posses. It sounds like this is something you are experiencing as well.
      Thanks for sharing!

Jesus is referring to the *Hebrew Scriptures* (the Old Testament). Acts 13:15 is merely one example

“After the reading of the *Law and the Prophets* the synagogue officials sent to them, saying, “Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.” (see also Matt. 7:12; 11:13; 22:40; Lk. 16:16; Jn. 1:45).
In Matthew 5:18 (“the Law”) Jesus is citing Psalm 82:6; i.e. the Hebrew Scriptures.; *not* the Mosaic Law-Covenant. So, Christ is referring to the Hebrew Scriptures, *not* the Mosaic Law.
Moreover, that little word *until* (not one jot or tittle shall pass away ‘until’ all is accomplished) ultra-crystal clear that “the Law” the Scriptures will be done away with after all has been accomplished; i.e. redemption. When a youngster receives his initial driver’s license (paper copy) he is told this is your license and you will use it until you receive your hard-copy license.
The Mosaic legislation was a corpus of laws for living on *earth,* whereas, we will no longer need God’s written law since His laws have been written on our hearts and we will live in the presence of the word of God incarnate; i.e. Christ.
Have you not read Ephesians 2:15?
For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the ]barrier of the dividing wall, by *abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments* contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace,”
The Greek word katargeo (abolish) means
“to render ineffective the power or force of something, to invalidate, to cause not to function.”
Therefore, the New testament clearly teaches that Jesus abolished the Mosaic Law, which was a ministry of *death and condemnation* (2 or. 3;6, 7), and fulfilled everything that the OT spoke of.

The 10 Commandments as we know them are the eternal laws of God. The Royal law as James calls it.
These are the laws that will never go away Jesus is talking about in Matthew 5. The stone tablets of the 10 Commandments were placed in the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark reappears in Revelations 11:18-19 and are what we a judged by. The Laws of Moses, were placed outside the Ark of the Covenant Deu 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. The fact they are in 2 separate places regarding the Ark indicates they are different. The Laws of Moses were for a specific time and place, the Jews of Israel to point them to the Messiah. It was the 603 Laws of Moses that were nailed to the cross, have been fulfilled and ended. While many teach there are 613 Laws of Moses, that confuses the truth. The 10 Commandments, the Royal Law of God is eternal. Gentiles are grafted into the family of Abraham and were never under the 603 laws just the 10. Acts 15 gives Gentiles believers guidance on how to coexist with Jews and not offend them.

We gentiles however only come in at acts 10:44 at/after pentecost and must NEVER assume Torah or precrucifiction laws.
We are saved by another way entirely: "“For THIS IS THE WILL OF MY FATHER, THAT EVERYONE WHO BEHOLDS THE SON AND BELIEVES IN HIM will have eternal life"
again: how do we obey the Father and do his will? By believing in Jesus; and by obeying the one who was sent; we obey the Father. Period. Learn scripture; then preach.

ROOT WORDS MATTER. Jesus said what sounds like two conflicting things in Matthew 5:17, he said: I didn’t come to abolish the torah (law) but to fulfill)
These words "abolish" in the greek is "Kataloo" which means to bring to nothing, dissolve, or overthrow.
The word "fulfill" is Pleroo in greek, which means: to make full, complete, to carry into effect, perform or execute.
In Hebrew: the word fulfill means: “soba” satisfied, abundance, fulness.
    ---------------------
In other words, Jesus said: I didn’t come to dissolve the Torah, but I came to perform it in the fullest way possible, to show others what is the right way to live!
If anyone tells you the word fulfill means to abolish or do away with the law, they are lying to you or are misinformed.
    ---------------------
The same word: Pleroo is used in the new testament as "full" or "filled up". Look at these examples: Jesus says in John 16:24:
“You have asked nothing in my name: ask, and you will receive, that you joy may be full (Pleroo)
You have made known to me the ways of life; you will make me full (pleroo) of joy with your countenance. Acts 2:28
If you insert the meaning: abolish or done away, that would mean the saying: “Your joy will be full” means “your joy will be abolished or done away with.” It doesn’t make sense, therefore, we should stay with the original meaning to understand what Jesus is talking about.

For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law”
    ( Hebrews 7:12 )
About a year ago, I sat through a series at church about the Ten Commandments. Each week the pastor would give his message on the next commandment instructing the congregation how to follow it and live it out in their lives. I spent the entire time wondering why a teaching series like this existed. I came to the conclusion that the Church as a whole is missing vital information concerning everything that took place at Calvary. This passage declares that when there is change in priesthood by necessity there also must be a change in law. And if there has been a change in the law, why are we still acting as if there hasn’t been?
Christians still want to live under the Old Testament Covenant which is why we have this hybrid of grace and works that permeates the Church. We teach salvation by grace but holiness by Law as in the example of the teaching series on the Ten Commandments. However Paul said in Colossians, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him” ( Colossians 2:6 ). How did you receive Christ? The only acceptable answer is by faith. So it makes sense that we continue in Him in the very same way. In fact, Paul said in Galatians, “All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” ( Galatians 3:10 ). His point is that Jesus became the curse so we could be redeemed from the law’s curse to live by faith ( Galatians 3:13-14 ).
This is why we must pay attention to Jesus and everything that took place at His death and resurrection. “Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess” (Hebrews 3:1). Why? Because the covenant of grace that He ushered in is far superior in every way than the old system of the law. “But the ministry Jesus has received is superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises” ( Hebrews 8:6 ). If we, as New Testament believers, have better promises, then it only makes sense that we know what they are and operate out of them instead of the old system that is aging and ready to disappear ( Hebrews 8:13 ).
This comes as a shock to many people but the old system did not work. Look at this passage from scripture. It actually says this very thing - the old system was broken “For if there had been nothing wrong with that first covenant, no place would have been sought for another. But God found fault with the people and said: “The time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord” ( Hebrews 8:7-9 ). The time for change came with Jesus.

The reason for keeping the Sabbath is in the commandment: "for in 6 days, God created everything and on the 7th rested", so are we to do. It's not a "law for the Jews" as some people say, because first, it was the Sabbath, then the Jew.

Are you aware the concept of “The 10 Commandments” is a manmade concept? The bible nowhere states God gave us “10 Commandments.”
There are typically 3 verses in the English translations which use the English “10 Commandments.” Those verses are Exodus 34:28, Deut. 4:13 and Deut. 10:4. In each of these cases the Hebrew word translated as “commandments” is דָּבַר, transliterated as dāḇār and this word is defined as: speech, words, speaking, verbal intercourse, etc. Of the 1,455 occurrences of dāḇār in the Old Testament, these 3 verses are the only ones translated as “Ten Commandments.”
Here is the problem English translators have caused. The Hebrew word for “Commandments” is מִצְוָה, transliterated as miṣvâ. But English translators have mis-translated dāḇār (words) into Commandments, which is a completely different Hebrew word (miṣvâ). Translating dāḇār means “words” and miṣvâ means commandments. However, in Ex. 34:28, Deut. 10:4 and Deut. 4:13 the Hebrew word translated “Commandments” is dāḇār (words) NOT miṣvâ (commandments). miṣvâ (Commandments) does not appear in these 3 mistranslated verses.
God nowhere gave 10 miṣvâ (Commands), but God did give 10 dāḇār (words). The concept of 10 Commandments is not supported in the original Hebrew and is a man made concept.

Really? What do you think Ephesians 2:15 means?

    • @accordingtothescriptures3470
      @accordingtothescriptures3470 2 года назад

You, like millions of others are mistaken on the meaning of Jesus’ words here, my friend.

Where did " an ordinance for ever" stop being forever? Or is "forever" really the correct rendering of the Hebrew word? We know some laws definitely don't apply anymore (sacrificial laws etc), but what about the rest? Sure, I get the war and taking a female slave/wife thing (maybe it should post WW3…kidding), but where does it say “only applicable to nation=Israel & termination date = when Jesus comes”

Understand this is how I observe the Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles).First gathering with His people to celebrate trumpets, then atonement. Unfortunately, I can not always take a full week off from work. However, the entire week is dedicated to celebrating, worshipping & fellowship with likeminded followers of Yeshua. The first day & last day are both sabbath. I do not work. We try to build a type of sukkah and through the week, sometimes camp out. We read through the scriptures for these set apart times & humble ourselves that we have the freedom to do so. And thankfully weep that we’ve been called to be set apart and praise Yah for His goodness & mercy. I will fast also. There are many more details but this is a summary. Everyone has their own walk with Yeshua. I came into this walk and belief about 6 years ago. It has been a blessing in various ways. It’s been tried too but the enemy won’t give up. That’s why we must be prayed up, putting on the armor of Yahweh and in fellowship with Bible believing, Yeshua followers.

I love this way of seeing how Jesus applies the Torah:
“You have heard that it was said to those of old…. But I say unto you… “.
Jesus did this with six specific instructions from the Torah.
We get to see God’s wisdom at work here… we’re not left to work out our own ideas of what’s good and what’s evil.
Then Jesus goes on to explain how to live righteously, in regard to six or more customs practiced by Torah-observant Jews… eg, acts of kindness, prayer, fasting and working for prosperity.
His teachings were shocking to some, comforting to others. To us who follow Him, they are Life and peace.

That is not true friend. Because of Messiah's sacrifice, through faith in Him and by the grace given though the Holy Spirit we ARE able to come back into obedience and follow God's laws. Read Romans 3:31: "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: no, we establish the law." We are not upholding animal sacrifice, but we are to uphold His feast days, dietary laws and the commandments, including a 7th day sabbath, not a Sunday (1st day) sabbath. That was changed by the Roman catholic church.

Of course we fail at reaching the goal, that's why we have the Holy Spirit to guide us into repentance and returning to Him. God didn't tease them with something they could not do, then punish them for it. The law is eternal and righteous, as King David declares in Psalm 119. It's the same law Yeshua will teach the nations when He returns [Isaiah 2, Zechariah 14]. We are grafted in as [wild olive branch] gentiles to [the natural olive tree] Israel. As Yeshua taught the Samaritan woman, salvation is from the Jews.

You, like millions of others are mistaken on the meaning of Jesus’ words here, my friend.

So how do you love God? John said by keeping God's commandments. Well, which ones? Clearly, it would not mean circle reasoning: If you love God keep His commandments, the one where it says to love God... If you love God, love God. My study on this, is to find out what commandments means when used in John.

It seems to me that since they didn't have the New Testament at this time, then the commandments were the same as they had always been (the law, the prophets, and the writings). Of course, the now had a more refined understanding of these commands because of what Jesus taught and what the Spirit provided; even still, Jesus didn't teach anything different or opposed to the commands of God (John 7:16; 12:49-50).

You ask a great question! If you haven't already, I would encourage you to research when the Sabbath was changed. Neither God nor Jesus changed the Sabbath. Yes, we are free to worship God and Christ any day of the week, but the seventh day was and continues to be set apart (sanctified) for God and His people to rest. Also, keep in mind that it is God's Sabbath (Exodus 31:13), not the Jewish Sabbath. Jesus said that Sabbath was made for man, not Sabbath is made for the Jew. For many, it is seen as a day that is filled with rules and restrictions, but it is a beautiful day--packed with so much symbolism, prophecy, and meaning!

Carnal Christians love to hear commandments aren’t around anymore; but that is incorrect teaching. All laws are forever in place, that’s God Who does not change. Jesus saves only and cleanses sin marks on our spirit; the laws keep us protected from opening fallen entity doors (pagan practice laws), opening demonic oppression doors (all temptations), keeps us from getting ill (dietary laws), from being inconsiderate and self centered (moral laws), from improper behavior (civil laws), and shows us how to be of the priesthood in Jesus our High Priest. It’s very easy to misunderstand the NT when the OT is also misunderstood or not even properly learned. Believers on God/Jesus are grafted into Israel...we are Israel. “All Israel will be saved.” Let the Holy Spirit teach you, not fallible man. God is not teaching us different things, it’s man who teaches different and loves to ignore what he don’t like. The enemy infiltrates the church (what all believers were called in the desert too) and misguide them so we’ll be demon infected, unusable, hypocrites, and scorned by the world for disobedience. Disobedience brings consequences on Jesus’ people to wake them up from sinning. All laws are still being done but some by Jesus now; once = forever continual cause He was pure. We don’t stone anymore because Jesus died in that place for us. So they’re all still being done in some way. I used the same mistaught scriptures to eat whatever I wanted till the Holy Spirit corrected context and understanding. I was sick and then healed. (Of course today not much of even proper foods are healthy cause of manufacturers, changed grains, and chemicals. We’re getting sick from those too. I appreciate these mens effort, I don’t doubt their love for God and salvation, but lawlessness is not true. Lots of Paul’s letters get misread. The feasts of God were kept after Jesus and to this day around the world. Read scripture carefully, study under the Holy Spirit, ask if demons have twisted things. “If you love Me (Jesus), follow My Commandments.” Under the 2 are the 10 and under the 10 are all laws Gen-Rev written on our hearts too. The NT alone has 1050 do and don’ts. Take all things to God and He’ll show you and also take you to men who speak wisdom and knowledge. God bless forever. I don’t see replies, I’m sure I’ll get plenty wrongly taught scriptures posted that hundreds will like; I understand and stick with Jesus and His Word. Love you all.

You, like millions of others are mistaken on the meaning of Jesus’ words here, my friend.

Excellent! Those who demand that Christians still need to act like ancient Israelites (which is impossible) really need to read Galatians (and Romans):
"Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: 'All nations will be blessed through you.' So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.
"For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.' Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because 'the righteous will live by faith.' The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, 'The person who does these things will live by them.' Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.' He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit," Gal. 3:7-14 (NIV).

Yes davidmoses3126, this is sad. The BP team seem to be good researchers, but only in the academic sense. I've seen many of the podcasts which relate properly to the word of G-d. However, if they don't believe the laws are active and worthy of obedience, they are relegated to ancient history. In this regard, they place the law of Moshe on the level of Greek mythology. So the BP team upholds the moral values portrayed in the law of Moshe, but that they are optional - says who? Fast forward to King David, King Hezekiah and many other righteous folks in the bible, the 11 talmidim of Yeshua, Nicodemas, Yosef of Arimithea, and Yeshua Himself - how were they considered righteous? By obeying Torah. David correctly describes the law as righteous and eternal. It displaces all the 'laws' of men. It's what Yeshua will teach to the nations, after He stands on the Mount of Olives, initiates His yeshiva in Yerushalayim and restores the earth. It's an amazing gift to us, our anticipation of what He promised us. [Isaiah 2, Zechariah 14]

      Sabbath does not apply. We are in the "Sabbath of the Lord" by which we enter in grace according to Hebrew 4:8;
since Sabbath or Shabbos means to "rest/ from works".
That is why "another Sabbath" remains for the Jews; who are saved in Tribulation-wrath (Daniel 9:24-27) which is VERY soon
and AFTER our salvation in rapture (romans 11:26-28)

That would be more helpful than essentially saying, "Well, you sort of have to go by some of this stuff, but sort of don't." Wouldn't that then apply to all of it? If the law (all 613), which is clearly spelled out, can be dismissed, why not then the rest? This church brought me back to the lord and sermons spoke to me and my wife directly, I have no doubt I was guided here. So I see his guidence on how to remain true to him and my family in church. It is the only place I have found that welcomes all as their neighbor, conducts ministry joyously and truly feels like a place filled with the spirit.

It's not that it has been made fully that's incorrect. The apostles continued to sacrifice it's plain in the book of acts they direct Paul to do so. IE: Priests, High Priest, Men, Woman, Civil.... They are broken down separately. Some apply to the Native born, IE: Living in a Sukkah on the Feast of Sukkot. Only applied to a genetic, native born Israelites. Sabbath is Shabbath. If you do not follow the commandments, statutes which do apply you are not a child of YHVH, you can not be grafted in. IF YOU LOVE ME YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.
It is not arbitrary, LAW is a mistranslated word in Greek for the Hebrew word TORAH. Its instructions....
All the hundreds of commandments HANG under the subsections, if you will of the 10 WORDS...
I eat Kashrut, clean animals, no pig, shellfish... Sabbath is a covenantal sign as well that I belong to the father. I work 6 days. I cook and prepare food for Sabbath on Friday. It is a way of life, not a set of rules thrown at us like the Jewish Rabbis did and still do., which is modern day Pharisees BTW.
Judaism adds to the TaNak, Christianity removes it. Both violating Deut 4:2 “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it,a so as to guard the commands of יהוה your Elohim which I am commanding you. Footnote: See also Deu_12:32, Pro_30:6, Rev_22:18-19.
Judaism: Yeshua and disciples accused of working because they picked grain on Sabbath. Judaism has a tradition calling it work, it is in their Talmud. The Talmud does not supercede the sacred scriptures. That law is not in Torah. You can eat grain, you can not gather a bunch on Sabbath, just enough to eat. Like you can pick an piece of fruit, don't grab a basket full.
Yeshua corrected them : Mar 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mar 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of Elohiym, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Mar 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of Elohiym, that ye may guard your own tradition.
Catholics are sun-god worshippers, Pope wears a mitre in the shape of Dag (fish'/dagon), crozier for a staff, the place where he puts the wafer, the golden plate is a molded SUN.... etc. Christianity is the daughter, worships the same way. I am not being offensive, like I said, I left once I learned the truth and I am/was 7th generation Irish Roman Catholic. My family never knew the truth from the Hebrew bible. They listened to their priest and their fathers. Which in the end the Israelites will realize they have inherited lies from their fathers.
I am sure I will be adding more as I hear it. 85 percent of the words Yeshua spoke is from the Torah, most is from Deuteronomy.
Christians use the New Testament, which is the incorrect word, it is renewed Covenant. It is a marriage contract... The B'rith Hadasha is a written record of things that happened at that time. It is not scripture... It backs up the Tanak.
T -Torah - instructions of Moses
    N-Nevi'im - prophets
    K- Ketuv'im -writings
Pay attention! Yeshua says this in Luk 24:44 And He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all have to be filled that were written in the TORAH of Mosheh and the PROPHETS and the WRITINGS concerning Me.”
See it??? TNK is an acronym. We are to follow the commandments that apply. As the guys mentioned some can not be done, but that are still valid. We are the temple, not made with hands.
    I must digress.
I truly enjoy learning, but I am not a Christian anylonger, if I had to refer to myself as anything it would be a Hebrew, I crossed over, follow the ways of my messiah and commandments are included. The instructions are in full force They were not nailed to the cross. That is blasphemy!

You would do well to acknowledge your Words as Torah or instructions instead of saying "Laws".. technically they are not enforced laws with out a temple and judges to give Rulings. Besides this YAH does not Torah done because it's Law! He seeks those who do for Love and Respect.

You, like millions of others are mistaken on the meaning of Jesus’ words here, my friend.

So every good tree yields good fruit, but a rotten tree yields wicked fruit.
A good tree is unable to yield wicked fruit, and a rotten tree to yield good fruit.
Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
So then, by their fruits you shall know them -
Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Master, Master,’ shall enter into the reign of the heavens, but he who is doing the desire of My Father in the heavens.

I do like a lot of your teachings but how you can look at this verse and say "none of them matter" confused me and it wasn't clarified very well. If you love him keep his commandments. Then we can discuss the ox killing another. Just because I don't own an ox doesn't mean I don't know, understand, and keep that law. What if my dog killed another? The old system of Laws only dealt with the external ( Hebrews 9:10 ) which is why it could never work. Take an apple tree, for example; when the fruit is ready to be picked you might find evidence that it had a worm. However if it is early enough in the season when you pick the apple, there is a chance that the worm is still inside. This is because the apple actual grows around the worm and the worm ruins the apple from the inside out. The law was geared toward the flesh, but since the core was bad, it showed us that we were already defeated and in need of a savior. This is why God had to deal with the heart of man, not merely external behavior which manifests because of what is inside. This is why there was a need for a new Covenant and new system.
“This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear” ( Hebrews 8:10-13 ).
Jesus dealt with the core of mankind which is why we must be born again, so that our nature is no longer according to the flesh which is corrupt. Instead it is according to spirit fashioned after Jesus’ in true righteousness and holiness ( Ephesians 4:22-24 ). He put the law of God on the inside of us, writing them on our hearts and minds so that we can know all his ways, it becomes part of us; cleansing us from the inside out, not just a system of rules to live by. This is the change in law. It is not of the letter which condemns, it is of the spirit which gives life. “He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant-not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” ( II Corinthians 3:6 ).
As believers, our covenant is glorious, which is why it seems inconceivable that anyone would choose to return to the old system of being under the law. “Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone [The Ten Commandments], came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, fading though it was, will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? ( II Corinthians 3:7-8 ). The point here is that Jesus ushered in a new system with His priesthood, then gave us the Holy Spirit, which allows us to live in a completely different way. Not by a list of “dos and don’ts” but by His Spirit. “The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace” ( Romans 8:6 ). Unlike the commandments which arouse the desire to sin ( Romans 7:11 ), living by the Spirit of God actually produces the righteous requirements the law describes ( Romans 8:4 ), which is why the new system under Jesus’ priesthood actually works!
“Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold. We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to keep the Israelites from gazing at it while the radiance was fading away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” ( II Corinthians 3:12-18 )
So instead of spending ten weeks doing a study on the Ten Commandments, which actually puts a veil over our hearts and dulls our minds to the things of God, we should spend time focused on Christ and the change that came with His priesthood. We do not need to be told what the law of God is, through Christ these things have been written on our hearts and exist in our minds and will be evident in our lives by walking and living by the Spirit of God ( Jeremiah 31:31-33, Hebrews 8:10-13, Hebrews 10:15-16 ). We should always look at the law through the filter of Christ which will always confirm what is spoken to us through the Holy Spirit. This is why by necessity there had to be a change in law when there was a change in priesthood. Through Christ a better hope is introduced by which we can draw near to God ( Hebrews 7:18 ).

    The torah laws are didactic.
Meaning their purpose is to reinforce a universal morale truth, and that is merely one way that morale truth can show itself.
Thou shalt not murder was a example of the didactic morale principle of not hating/despising others playing out, hence why in more poetic scrolls there are sayings like "Dont let the sun go down on your wrath.".
    the morality: Dont hate others
    the example: not murdering
to murder (UNJUSTLY kill someone, not just killing), is to by objective rationality hate someone or something we are not allowed to hate.
You can (and should if contextually relevant) not murder, but that is not the only way to trangress the morale principle of what constitutes murder as a concept rather than just an action, you can murder someone in your heart by hating them (a lot of people in their head have imagined hurting or killing someone even if they didnt do anything, we treat that is ONLY crazy people do these things but its probably shamefully more common than we think).
( to your point of connecting adam and eves story to the torah) >>> When Adam sinned, he blamed eve for feeding him the fruit rather than take accountability for his own actions, and he also blamed god in the same breath, this broke both main commandments at once, "LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL & STRENGTH, AND LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF."
Adam: "The women that you gave me" - This is because of what (you and) eve did (lack of accountability)
Eve: "The serpent beguiled me and I did eat" - though the serpent tricked me into it, I did end up eating (acknowledges the temptation but takes ownership)
    Adam SINNED
    But Eve was DECIEVED
It seems Eve repented, while Adam blamed eve & insinuated lack of worthiness of Gods choices/creation/wisdom
Hence though Eve indirectly gets a punishment through adam for her mistake, it is Adam who takes the greater blame, because he wanted Eve to take the blame and for God to admit fault in making her, basically saying God wasnt worthy being God, at least over man.
Eve gets childbirth pain and subservience naturally to Adam, but Adam gets his entire lifelong labours cursed, the burden on males to work and sweat harshly to get suboptimal results AT LEAST, both die, and the blame is attributed to Adam, not Eve, thats 2 judgments on Eve, 3 judgments on Adam, 1 judgment on man, 0 judgments on himself.
    Justice.

Another point of contention for Eve, The Serpent made the first lie to exist. It's no wonder Eve was deceived though her failure was in listening to the Serpent's crafty lie over God's own command. A lesson from that; The Lord of lies can always deceive those who do not seek god's word and hold it above all potential deceptions.

Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my HEART

Always check how the Bible begins: GENESIS
    and ends: REVELATION
If the two correlate you have a winner!!
    Genesis 1: 29-30
God's first law of LOVE ... it was not a request, it was a COMMANDMENT.
(Just by providing us with dietary laws, it covered "Thou Shalt Not Kill")
    Now check Revelation 22: 14
Those that KEEP His COMMANDMENTS will HAVE THE RIGHT to the TREE of LIFE which is in the Garden of God (or City of God)
It connects with Revelation 2: 7
And those that overcome, will have the right to eat from the TREE OF LIFE which is in the garden of God.
The 10 Commandments have NEVER ceased.
Jesus said in John 14: 15
IF YOU Love Me you will KEEP my COMMANDMENTS
YOU BY NOW KNOW WHAT THEY ARE:
    Love God
    Love your Neighbour
But whether you like it or not: Thou Shalt NOT Kill (and not thou shalt not murder) includes God's creation.
If God said it in the beginning and God said it in the end ---- no preacher, pastor, priest, evangelist, prophet need to explain it to me or twist the intended outcome.
God said it (not Moses, Abraham, Isaac or Jacob, Benni Hinn, Joyce Meyer or anyone else)
God said it and I believe it and that settles it

You have to do an all-encompassing search on where God's commandments came from originally. I am not talking about Moses Ceremonial Laws (in Levitikus) I am talking about the 10 commandments.
REmember in the Garden of Eden when God created ALL of His creation the only humans there were Adam and Eve, the rest were the animals.
He provided them with His first commandments (which ensured that there would be no blood-shed in the garden of Eden neither by the hand of the humans or by the animals)
      Genesis 1: 29-30
When Moses came down from the Mountain with the 10 Commandments (there had to be included "love thy neighbour") because in the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve had no human neighbours, so the first commandment had to be extended. It all had to do with NOT hurting or harming your neighbour, or hurting or harming animals, or your animals.
Read Isaiah 11: 6-9 (especially verse 9 which says there will be no hurting and harming at God's holy mountain. Verses 6 - 9 describes once again a Garden of Eden.
This is God's ultimate goad and plan. To restore the Garden of Eden on Earth (as it is in Heaven)
The Church has lost this understanding as they are running around after all kinds of other insignificant "man-made" beliefs and extras that the Levites, Rabbi's, Pastors and Preachers have added.
Its very simple. If you read Mark 7 (the full chapter)
Jesus said - you have prophecied in my name, healed people in my name, drove out demons in My Name ...... but I will say I NEVER knew you.
WHY: Because they are running after external religious little things but are devoid of LOVE.
JESUS SAID: IF YOU LOVE ME - YOU WILL KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS
ITS ALL ABOUT LOVE FOR GOD, LOVE FOR HIS SON, LOVE FOR OUR HUMAN NEIGHBOURS AND LOVE FOR GOD'S CREATION

I always knew BibleProject leaned towards non.christian liberty. Where does Paul ever say that at 11:00?
Paul says the opposite in Galatians 5: "Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. "
The context here is that Paul never said that circumcision was fleshly; circumcision was in the heart; and we in Christ are NOT to be following the law:
"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. [...] Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?"
Torah observing roman-gentiles were such a bad thing; even jesus spoke out against circumcision of gentiles before his crucifiction:
    Matthew 23:15:
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You traverse land and sea to win a single convert,
and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
Both Paul and Jesus unanimously agree; Gentiles that try to uphold the jewish laws curse themselves doubly; and cancel out any potential blessing [in this life] that they might recieve
hence "becoming children of hell twofold".

Yeshua is the Law, he is the living Torah. Paul followed Torah and taught others to do the same. Paul teaches against Torah observance in the flesh for salvation. He also "God Forbid" teaches toward Torah observance in spirit and, in truth, out of love and obedience to God. Torah simply means instructions.

You are making your own eisegesis ideology up out of that Matthew verse. You believe the Pharisees are extremely Lawful and Strict taskmasters, but we know that is NOT TRUE because in Matthew 23:28 “you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and *lawlessness”* Meaning it was a masquerade, a fraud, a grift, a scam. Megachurches today have the same hypocrites and lawlessness when Pastors who commit adultery or other sins or make concessions with worldly ideologies.
Also, Paul was admonished for teaching and not following the Law by the Apostles. He was made to shave his head like a NEWB, and kneel down and make a Nazarite Vow to follow and teach the Law. So whatever he wrote BEFORE he got the Holy Spirit to follow the Law, is gibberish of a newb written without the full understanding of the Holy Spirit. Ezek 36:26-27 (Holy Spirit = following the Law). If he had knowledge of Ezek 36:26-27 & Jer 31:33 he wouldn't have written those words on paper, instead he would have writen God's Laws on his heart.
To recap you misread Mathew 23 AND Paul's understanding was corrected by the Apostles who walked with Jesus Christ for years in Act 21.
Also, today you conceal your transgressions by claiming there are no Divine Laws to break, another game of illusions; charade. 'He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper' Prov 28:13

In your discussion of The Commandments which to apply or not to apply. When we talk of Torah, it's the application that we apply in our lives from Torah as believers. What does Matthew 5: 17 through 19 Think not that I have come to abolish Torah and the prophets; I have come not to abolish then but to fulfill them what did Yeshua mean by fulfilling it is that he lived the Commandments of Torah to show us he is our example. For truly, I say to you, till Heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, wall pass from the Law=Torah until all is accomplished. Whoever therefore shell break one of these least Commandments, and shall teach men so, he shell be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same Shall be Called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. In the apostolistic scriptures which is also called a new testament. There are 208 verses from Torah in the New Testament. One example Matthew 5: 37 through 40. You show love Yehovah you're Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment reference Deuteronomy 6: 4-5. And the second is like on to it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself reference Leviticus 19: 18. Going back to the application of Torah, and the application in the world. Not all of us are animals, women, burnt offerings, levitical priests, slaves, and so forth. The trouble is we don't apply the Commandments of Torah to our lives in society Yehovah shalom. Lastly we have to distinguish between the oral Torah, and the written Torah.
