I marched all through high school and college, DCI and WGI, and have taught at each of those levels. This is honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen at any level; I watch it about once a week. Thanks for the upload. I hadn't seen the show down front yet.
former brass tech, (honestly would like to do it again but a lot of my skills are gone after a decade away) but yes I agree, the timing windows are insanely tight, and the formation locks are top-notch. tone quality is DCI level. Seriously if there was the best show of all time list this would be near the top if not at the top.
@@xeratube Tough to say. I love both those shows so much. I wish Hebron would've made it to Grand Nationals the past two years. I'd like to know which show would've ranked higher in the eyes and ears of the judges.
@@xeratubeAs the principal clarinet player from the Area Contest, Super Regional, and State Contest in the 2022 season, I say that the difficulty of Odyssey FM is harder than PENstriped in most ways, but by design (and my own personal experience) PENstriped is the better show in both the effect of the musical selections, and the concept. I personally enjoyed PENstriped exponentially more in just about every sense, especially with how trash our UIL State Contest runs were. This is all just my opinion though, so take it with a grain of salt.
This was better than the UIL Finals run. Thanks for capturing it! EDIT: In particular, the flugelhorn solo was better. Soprano Sax wasn't quite as good (a little pitchy on the last note of the solo -- I think Aayan would agree.) Piccolo solo and alto trombone solo were on-point all year long. Super consistent. The sax quartet is also completely bonkers -- those guys played out of their minds every time.
Holy Crap! Now Listening to the soloist between movements this show is unbelievable! You can’t hear all the individual solo work done in so many other videos on the internet. Breath taking!
Tarpon should take note. If you’re going to have a lot of props on the field, this is how you do it. Keep the main focus of the performers and not the ginormous props.

How does it compare to PENstriped, do you think?

HOLY LEAD TRUMPETS!!!!
was just watching the drum majors technique the whole time, and of course Malik's alto bone solo, super captivating
Thanks for posting. My daughter marches in the band and appreciates the support.
Of course! Go Hebron!

I forget that I’m listening to high schoolers! Amazing
Got to be the best show 🎖️ one of my personal favorites sooo sooooo lucky to have seen it in person EPIC Show
Best overall production in 22! Brilliant show!
THAT LEAD TRUMPET IS MICED😮💨😮💨
During the solo, yes. Notice he walks up to a mic stand on the solo stage? He isn't mic'd on the field.
their state final was the day before ours so i didnt get to see them

The mellossss🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️🤤🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Mellos always hard carry
Yeeeeesssssss!
Ah yes front and center so I can stare straight into my own soul
4:29 you can barely hear the woodwinds and as a woodwind i need to hear them😭
i HATEEEE the fact that everyone around the camera screamer over the Double G right after the Double Tongue feature in the opener
Midwest is iconic visual but I can’t wait till Indiana executes this level of HS musical DCI excellence.
Omg
are you a hebron alumni
