I just received 4 frags from TSA and I was impressed. The packaging was sturdy and just packed really well Also, when I dipped the corals there was virtually 0 hitch hikers, didn’t see any unwanted critters floatin around. Definitely be ordering from them in the future 👍🏼
I have that yellow tip cristata from TSA. Got it during their easter sale for $40. I dropped $1.5k during that sale, 45+ different corals. Not a single DOA and only had a single bristleworm and baby aiptasia as hitchhikers. Really impressed with TSA.
Beautiful Shop. I made it a point to visit on my last trip to Florida. And yep, one of the simple joys (and often frustrations) about this hobby is you never stop learning. Could not agree more good Sir. You also demonstrated why the hell genus and species are so important, despite the resistance from coral vendors. What TSA calls it, what You call it, and what Germany might call it can all be different. Yet, if it's been properly ID's in taxonomy: It's genus and species will be the same and lend a very strong starting point. And umm... Pavona cactus.
Man they have so many pieces that id love to have even jus unnamed corals but im gonna be getting a piece of their laffy taffy goni of theirs from a friend who grows n sells it locally he has a huge incredible looking colony of it i cant wait to have one of my own!! That coral is jus breathtaking in person especially u det leds with high flow uhhh jus divine!!
Stunning corals! But all these gadgets make me wana cry! I tried the gadgets approach and I spent more time on them than the actual tank. Ive gone the simple nano 25-50% waterchanges a week and im enjoying marines again.
Considering how huge their colonies are, it's almost funny how tiny their very high priced frags are. Certainly extremely healthy and colorful, but holy smokes pushing the boundaries on the size/price.
Ricordia that have decent colour go for about $300-$600 aud here in Australia. Haha your right though, never seen an acan more than maybe 100 bucks, even the really colourful ones
I’ve had asterina in previous tanks with no problem whatsoever. My current set up has had them and they have 100% Been eating my zoas. Had to peel some off polyps where colonies were dying off and I had no idea why. After peeling off, which was unusually harder than normal, there were small white bite mates on the polyps where they had been on them feeding. Currently have two harlequin shrimps in there helping and zoas seem to be recovering.
There are a few species in the astera/aquilonastra that are primarily corallivores, however the majority found in the hobby are harmless algae/ bio film grazers.
Hey March I had a thought today while watching your video. How would stores like yours and this, control all your elements with the demand for these elements always changing with corals coming in and out of the systems?
Just monitor the levels. Doesn't matter what the stock level is, automated testing with a Neptune Trident or similar would tell them what they need to dose.
100% agree about the prices being listed. My local store doesn’t and I hate it. I haven’t been to a coral/reef show, but I’m not in a hurry for that exact reason. Watching some of the haggling that occurs makes me cringe-it’s just not my thing.
Because the ones that don’t put price want to price based on what they think you will pay, if you look rich they will charge you more which is not cool
Impressive video for sure. Unfortunately I’ve been very disappointed with their customer service and will be shopping elsewhere. Too many high quality vendors to deal with poor customer service
Facts they only take care of doctors and lawyers, I make 80k a year & not enough for them to take proper care, they think they’re famous or something lol
Maybe that’s it. They must have large enough business or enough volume that they don’t care if they lose a few customers to others. I for one won’t buy anything from there again unless it’s an emergency and there is no other option.
When you have a location like that I am 100% sure they have generator backups to keep everything running. It would surprise me if they had millions in livestock without investing a couple grand on a backup.
I live here in Orlando and don’t shop TSA anymore. Their prices are a huge turn off to me. Big local Reefer community so spend my money at peoples homes.
I’m in Orlando too, where do you like to go? I spend thousands with them & they still can’t come and service my tank ! Some saying they’re booked up and some saying email but never reply
"Maxi Jet" is now made in China and is not the same quality.... The Italian company sold the name to China, But retained the rights to build and sell the same product. If you want the REAL Italian "Maxi Jet" it's new name is NEWA... Same old quality, New name.
I enjoy your videos but please get a camera with image stabilization. 👍

So glad you are going to send him one. Very kind of you Steve.

Amazing facility, and great looking corals. I wish I could order from them, but can’t justify paying 2-3 times what other vendors charge.

March could you do a vid on alkalinity? Like explaining why lowering it would be desirable and your thoughts on levels for someone new to the hobby

It would take more than a 2k generator to backup all that. More like a 25k generator. But yes, they definitely would have to have one in place.
