I love these videos about the science and biology of the animals and how it translates to reefing. They help us better care for them in our tanks.

🔥Daylight gang 🔥 I like my old school sps and actually oddball corals. Blue ridge, tongue corals and Porites. Even finger leathers that farms don’t have. These all look naturally beautiful under daylight.

Blue ridge for the win! I am a huge fan, and I have to give mad love for my leathers! Thanks for tuning in!

Hi Taras. You mentioned the dangerous UV light (B and C) being important for coral to produce protective colours (sunblock), however we do not to my understanding utilise these wavelengths in our hobby. Certainly not from LEDs and I believe even halides have a glass covering to filter these wavelengths out for safety reasons.
I can see at TSA the fixtures used to provide some UVA but unfortunately many manufacturers don’t add enough of these spectrums.
I appreciated that you talked about the importance of UV light but I’d like some clarification about which of the A, B and C we actually utilise in the hobby for lighting our corals. I feel like you gave the impression that all three are used.
Love your videos though keep them coming 🍻🇦🇺
