Thanks again for creating a video that educates us about the hobby and provides tools and resources on how to do it better with gear we actually use. I watched your video on flow a few weeks ago and implemented it in my tank and saw positive results immediately. Thank you. If you are looking for additional content to create I would appreciate a video on how to care and feed corals such as meat corals, scolys, etc.
It’s so funny how there are a certain set of people on here talking about how Ecotech lights are so expensive and bashing them. Correct anything can grow corals these days, so if a person wants to spend “their” $$$$ on the more expensive lighting then so be it. Luca’s bars are great all across the board but you have to know what they are. Being new in the game, I would like to see people make videos to promote instead of coming on here with their gripes. Vic is showing his situation and what he’s doing for educational reasons and what he likes. If someone wants what they want from inexpensive to expensive then so be it. Also show why and have examples. This video is showing some valuable info for anyone who really cares to listen.
part of the hobby i like is that no two tanks are the same even if you have the same size tank and amount of corals as you said there are so many reason that make it all our own.
Honestly, radion is the type of company that holds back features just to make another variation of the exact same light. These light companies are pimps selling these units at this price point.
Not to mention those AI blade bars. I was excited for them when they 1st announced them. Super skinny, nice tight clusters... Then they released and I saw the price. $440 for 48in light bar is crazy to me. A bar will always be a supplemental light. My orphec bars are $200 and I thought that was a lot. Supplemental lighting is now the price of older main lighting. With the price of the reef hobby it's so hard to get a nice setup. All my stuff is used. That said, the radion blade setup does look really freaking cool. 😅
Yh it's ridiculous, hardly inviting for newcomers. For a 4ft take your looking at over £1k in lighting alone -.- all you tubers etc push these brands so the smaller businesses fall behind with development :/
Great video guys. I think something thats really missing from these sort of videos is the ability for viewers to share tank issues and you guy's to give your thoughts....now that would be incredible. I for example run a Red Sea Reefer 200G2 with a Reef Factory Reef Flare Pro M for lighting. The tanks been running since April and I have a layered aquascape with SPS at the top abd LPS at the middle to bottom with a few ricodea and zoas at the bottom too. Ive noticed some colour loss especially with the SPS. Under blues and orange glasses they look great but under thr natural lights the montipora etc have lost colour. I run my light's about 50% total intensity with more blue than white but im unsure if this is a chemistry issues or lighting issue. Be great to share some pictures and videos and get your thoughts. Keep up the great content team, love your work 👏 👍 👌 🙌
Josh I see in the video that it looks like you were using an Apogee 210 par meter and not the 510. With the 210 not able to read the full spectrum of the LED lights, is it possible that the par in Vic's tank is higher than the reading you're seeing with the 210?
Josh. thanks for the helpful information. i did have a question about anemones. do they prefer stronger blues or whites. i like your lighting schedule in regards to 3-4 hours of blues with some white and then 8 of strickly blues. do you think the anemones would like it ?
How did you go about fixing or correcting the cyano issues and bleaching? I’m currently going through a bit of the same issue. Would love some suggestions/feedback
The diffuser is nice when you are close to the water surface. In most cases at our shop has lights are hung significantly higher than the norm so it isn't necessary. Also in this instance the blades are helping to blend colors.
I’ve had radions and I like them so I’m not bashing but if you were going to just turn them way down anyways why didn’t you just get 2 more 32’s for what one xr30 cost? You mentioned you wanted to achieve more spread by adding more fixtures wouldn’t adding the extra 32’s solved your problem? 🤔
my aquajapan 17 gallon cube all in one standard LED light was emitting too much white and not enough blue. now that I invested in a Kessil A80 I've bridged that gap. I'm able to mix the light to get the lower white with more blue that gradually fades to deeper blue at night. My Zoas throughout the tank and my one acro tend to tell me first whether the lighting is good better or best. p.s. to community Also my copperband butterflyfish is healthy. He's my favorite I'll be honest. The type of fish I love to see when I visit a reef to free dive or snorkel. Just because so many people say they are so difficult. For me worth it.
Will the lighting profiles be shared with a radion and blade glow setup? I like the setup you got going there. I got two XR30 G6 Pro and two blade grows. What’s the height you guys have the lights at?
Man, $3k just in lighting on a 80 gallon tank is not practical for most. Yes the g6 radion have good coverage, but the par is terribly low. It’s like they knew when they released them you’d need supplemental for par, and boom, blades a year later. These companies are crazy!
Does anyone know what bracket is being used to mount the led strips? It appears to be an extension on the radion mounts? Tia I found it actually, tyvm! They're the blade hybrid mounts if anyone was wondering
I put 2 x 66in Blade Grows at 60% over my tank and even though I was getting about 200 par on the top rocks and 100 on the sand a lot of Sps bleached. It seems the Blades seem to have more power .
Im still running my two Radion G2 pro, im making sure im getting ever last penny worth out of them. I still have my G1 Radion. I refuse to buy more till I need to.
Isn’t the best thing for a reef tank is to not mess with it?.. seems like people are always chasing. Corals want stability not newest lights and crazy flow. Just IMO. So far my tank is doing great on budget equipment.
You make a valid point, but you can't summarize what we do into one catch phrase. We have been growing corals commercially for many years, which would mean "messing" with them just the same we do in fact know what we are doing. When we open ourselves up to the public view through these RUclips videos and it humanizes the process and allows for many opinions. We aren't trying to show that you should mess with things, instead Vic has a goal and for those out there that share that goal can follow along for the ride. Those who want to leave things alone can remain content with their current configuration.
With the right nutritional input there is a potential to run them significantly higher than they are. Which is the goal from what I understand. My tank runs 100% all color channels 2-xr30 pros on a 48x13 tank. So it is more about the right setup for your goal.
Echotech didn't make the lights they bought the light from a Chinese light manufacturer. All Echotech did is put there software in there and put there logo on the product. You can buy the same light from the manufacturer. They even have a better version with Cree leds and a better driver for only $299.
As a newbie, lighting is the hardest thing. I can test the water and know what's lacking or too much. I can't test the lights. AHHHHHHH!!! Is it enough, is it too much, do I need red, do I need white, do I run them at 50% or 100% WTF AM I DOING???? Every tank is different. I think I want out of this hobby. I got thrown in because I expressed interest in a neglected tank at my wife's office. Now it's MY responsibility or let the tank die.

Thank you so much for the love and support!
Love the video and the authenticity here. Thanks for showing the real deal. Also, Josh, that beard is on point.
Thank you so much
In future episodes can you talk about the sps you have in your tank. They look amazing!❤

i was there in April 2024- 1st time- EXCELLENT!
Tanks looking great Vic. Can’t wait to see the growth with the new lights. What happen to Josh head?
He got into it with a stand lol
Can you share your Radion pro light schedule Josh. I have the pro lights and would love to try your schedule.
Honestly, radion is the type of company that holds back features just to make another variation of the exact same light.

F them. Quanta bars are better and cheaper and Lucca is a cool dude.
The price is ridiculous. No wonder they give them away free to shops etc so everyone's talking about them -.-

Any light on the market can grow corals now days the Chinese even have exact replicas of ecotech G6. I’ve grown sps with compact fluorescent bulbs
I dont if its the orange lens or the radions or what is the secret to such coloration? OMG! Best colors I have ever saw in a tank!
The lights are a massive part of the color :)

what kind of substrate is this?? tnks!
Reborn from two little fishies 😊😊
Why do you use it? I've seen it in your other tanks.
You said you cranked the skimmer full time. I run mine 24/7. I have fish and coral set up. Any suggestions
Thanks
If you did have a par meter what would your par level goal be with this tank? I have similar tank goals and I want to use this template for my xr30s.
How did you connect the Blades to the Radions? Love that look
They make a bracket for that set-up
We used the multi light mount to get them on!
About a week ago!!! Lol I can’t help it! Shmurda 😂😂😂
It happens every time lol
Sad you switched from the hydras, would’ve loved to see how your tank developed with the same lights I use. Seems like everyone uses radions
Same lol
Same
Radion XR30 Gen 6 Blue sold so poorly ecotech had their shills positively review it on BRS
How did you go about fixing or correcting the cyano issues and bleaching? I’m currently going through a bit of the same issue. Would love some suggestions/feedback
What’s the intensity on the blades ? is what I want to know
Do you guys use the diffusers? Thought on them?
The diffuser is nice when you are close to the water surface. In most cases at our shop has lights are hung significantly higher than the norm so it isn't necessary. Also in this instance the blades are helping to blend colors.
I thought it was only metal halides that produced true U.V? When you are talking about U.V with the blades it's just violet spectrum right?
No led produces true uv. It’s a gimmick. To get Ub-b/uv-c you need t5 or mh
Is there a similar setting for ai prime 16hd
Have you guys ever tried to replicate the spectrum of a led to a metal halide?
What light did he use for his beard😂😂😂 beautiful tank guys
Feed mode for lightning?

This is easily another option 100%
The blue color is different and I think Vic was looking at the closest comp to what's on the 65.
my aquajapan 17 gallon cube all in one standard LED light was emitting too much white and not enough blue. now that I invested in a Kessil A80 I've bridged that gap. Yes we will get them on the LED Preset page
Are these on the preset page? I wasn’t able to find them.

It is currently posted on our Led preset section of our website
@@jdearel1 Awesome, thanks
It would be great to do the MXM profiles too
I think Apex is coming for this tanks so hang tight.
You guys would go crazy if you saw my lighting. 4 xr15s 1 xr30 and 2 blades on top of a reefer 350 (72 G)
👍
👍👍
Great video Would love to see the actual setting on every color..
We will be adding this to the site shortly.
Can you upload the light profile to your website?

@WorldWideCorals but which one is it on the radion schedule? 100g?
@@RadDadsReef Keep that Link Bud we will be adding it to that, One we get it updated I will let you know!
Always use radion acclimate mode when you add new ones over your tank

Hey, If it ain't broke......
I need that hammer at 4:28!
Send us a email at contact@worldwidecorals.com
Let me know what you looking for , I can get any coral or live stock exotic marine treasure
No point buying a $1,000 light when you still need more strips for coverage. Just get a T5 or MH setup and be done. Cheaper and less watts in the end.
That’s how is see it. I don’t like the look of so much lights hanging on top of the tank. That’s my opinion.

Yea Josh got into with a stand lol, Josh did win!
@@WorldWideCorals I thought you were going to say he got into it with a lionfish.
Mobius oh dear!!!
It's gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better
Wow my par was 150 i didnt realize it needed to be closer to 550
It doesn't. Most tanks will thrive in MUCH lower lighting.
I use Kessil a160we not falling for all that you can spend a lot of money on lights
How much stock do you guys have in Ecotech? 😂😂😂
His look better I'm changing to these more expensive ones that the avg reefer won't buy.
Buys expensive high power lights..... and turns them way down..... LOL

Such a bummer you have so little faith😅
The best light ecotech never produced? It that a joke? They is the worst, the best was the gen 4, since they make it only worse and worse
