Because you can charge by subcooling. Idk how the lines were run inside the walls so I’m not gonna guess what the length is if I can be certain of the subcooling.
I had two braze joints to make it’s a big waste of time to cook off a braze joint then slide the insulation over and braze the next. Putting split insulation on after is no big deal I’d rather do that always.
@DCHVAC Never had an issue with SB8. However you should never use it on the lliquid line output directly connected to the compressor. Other key is to go very light on the flux and crimp the connection if the fitting is loose prior to soldering
We miss your videos

Get a GOSS GA-11 tip for your turbo torch . World of difference.great video
I use the turbo torch for soldering. For brazing I use a brazing rig but it was empty.
Got to love looks over functional, looks pretty in the center. ((eye roll))
You can get a B tank to MC adapter. They are good if this happens again.
I love the Rheem but I hate how big it is.

Nice job bro!!! Installing a unit during a maintenance inspection good job
Good job of maximizing your time
you need a bigger tip for the turbo torch
i did wonder what happened to you. I thought maybe you touched a live wire.
Any reason to not calculate additional refrigerant based on line set length and weigh it in?
Because you can charge by subcooling. Idk how the lines were run inside the walls so I’m not gonna guess what the length is if I can be certain of the subcooling.
did you forget to thread on the suction insulation again ?
rush, rush, rush, much?

Why not turn it so the service and connection is on the left, lots more room
I’d rather keep the service for both units in the same location

Oh well."
you're up against the OT guys
Is there a reason you guys never use Stay Brite 8 ??
Because most manufacturers actually require brazing if you read the manual
Are you a licensed plumber?
@@utahockey I don’t do plumbing
78 thumbs up
Are you still on the hate bandwagon for staybrite 8?
Same question, why did you guys stop using Staybrite?
Most manufacturers state clearly in the manual to “braze”
