I can’t wait to see the video when the guy calls and talks to Mikey. I know you’ll give him hell especially now that he’s threatening to sue. What a scumbag.
in my state plumbing inspector would have the gas company out and meter shut down and locked immdiately......only when permit pulled and signed off turned back on....this was insane
Well done Sir! I would have done exactly the same thing. Carbon monoxide is that gas that lets you go to sleep at night except you never again wake up. It's as deadly as gases get! Keep up the good work! I am sure Mike would do the same thing! Once you set foot in the residence you own the issue. You can bet your bottom dollar that in a tragedy the lawyers will FIND YOU!! Again, well done Sir!
Me as well .I was a first responder /service technician 35 year for the gas utility in St Louis (I’d like to have a dollar for every time I said to myself “ what were they thinking ?”🤔). I only worked an older city metropolitan area with 3 million people, I can only imagine an older metropolitan area with 26.6 million people , almost 10 times the amount of fun.
Here in the uk if we have a situation like this. We are allowed to cap off the gas meter and disconnect the gas appliance. If the home owner stops us then we can call the gas network who will come and dig up the road and disconnect them in the road... we also registered with a governing body call 'gas safe' which all gas engineers need to be registered with to be allowed to work on gas. We can call them for advice if needed... but usualy we put a disc inside the gas meter so if the home ower turned there gas back on themselves, they would not have any gas due to the disc in the meter....
Daniel, you did the right thing you saved lives bottom line that customer is the biggest piece of crap. He doesn’t give a crap about anybody but himself and his pool. Great you did the right thing as a professional great job Mike and pipe doctor are very proud of you for what you’ve done.
I believe that yellow flex is also illegal in nyc correct? I believe it has to all hard pipe for boilers n water heaters and other not typically moved appliances
He is a liar and doesn’t take life seriously. Owner had someone install that on the side that knows nothing about plumbing safety. Owner was only interested in saving a buck ,and now has been reported for his own safety , but he’s mad bout it ???
I’m from Canada and if there’s anything unsafe we are supposed to infracted it and turn off gas and electrical and if anything happens beyond that point it’s on the homeowner or whoever turns the appliance back on. Do you guys not shut down or infract equipment?
Good job and the only thing is let the bosses take care of it you did the right thing even the customer do not agree and I would like to know what happens with that customer thanks.
I came across a gas dryer vent that was connected to a water trap! Homeowner thought is was wasteful to vent that heat outside,so his solution was to use a water trap and that would remove the carbon monoxide! People are so freekin stupid sometimes!
I think they were there as the manufacturer repair tech and not for selling services. Might be stipulations in their contact with the OEM that restrict what they can do
@@DCHVAC I'm just trying to figure out how you could have avoided this. I'm a big talker, I explain everything, probably over explain. I don't think I've ever had a customer to turn on me like that. He likely did it himself and thought that this is as far as I can take it now I’ll have someone commission it and then be able to blame someone else if it causes issues. My comment was that here in Ontario we are obligated to turn off the meter, make safe the gas line( disconnect either the meter or the appliance) inform the utility and report the incident to TSSA , tag the system. I bet the home owner installed this and didn't get the right heater, so they just closed off the chimeny with plastic bag and figured "Save the heat in the room"
@@BuilderJay yea. The raypaks were always outdoor heaters. Any inside are non direct one pipe exhaust. If he wants to run that heater just needs rig a pipe to that exhaust out that ceiling or get duct work installed. Also the gas line maybe undersized but Daniel said it was running prior. I would get rid of the wires that go to the automated control box and just run it manually. And put an exhaust fan to vent the heat out of that room to small for all the pool equipment.
Does this idiot of a home owner not realise that Daniel’s actions are compelled by law and probably saved his family’s life? Instead of threatening to sue anyone he should be going after the person or company that nearly cost them their lives.
