Also for the sake of cleanliness, this will start a new playlist/Name. Still plan on unlocking every ship though!
A terrible tragedy has befallen the multiverse! After a destabilization of the multiverse as we know it, every ship has scattered to the far reaches of the galaxy. It's up to our brave crew to journey out and recover these lost ships in order to repel the rebellion!
Is this all an excuse to unlock every ship again? Well, yeah. But why not have some fun along the way. ;)
Multiverse:
The Rebellion has fallen and the flagship is destroyed. At last, the Federation is again in a time of peace, taking their time to finish off the last few Rebel stragglers.
However, a group of Rebel refugees discover an ancient ship, dating long before even the Federation itself, and on it a mysterious modified FTL drive. The Rebellion quickly reverse engineered this tech and recreated multiverse travel. With this new tech, they see a second hope for their mission. With only a couple hundred ships armed with multiverse drives, the Rebels invade other multiverses which are undergoing the same war that they had previously lost, swaying the tide in favor of the Rebellion.
However, the Federation catches wind of their plot, and quickly moves to capture multiverse tech to use for their own ships. Now, the Federation and Rebellion are locked in a never-ending war invading other universes and trying to sway the balance towards their side.

The event you encountered at 6:03 is basically the gateway to the ultimate super-secret sector. You need Obyn (the salt man) and the Anomoly Detector (which is one of the Aether upgrades that is only available when you have level 3 sensors). If you have those and get this event, you get to a special sector that is so absurdly difficult that nothing else in the game even compares.

Interesting, I'm still exploring the multiverse and even though I've gotten this event I didn't not know anything about what you write. That said I don't care much for spoilers so would you care to elaborate? Is this the gateway to that crazy secret multiverse nexus sector?

@@omamerc Yeah, it's that one. Honestly I've never been there myself, I've only heard about it. Getting all the requirements and then finding the event is really hard.

@@TheDersitePhantom You don't necessarily need to bring aether tech into the megamarket tough. Saving Billy always rewards a weapon that unlocks the aether upgrades, either Cluster Bomb, Zenith Laser or Lance Beam. As long as you have Obyn and the sector layout isn't too egregious, it's possible, especially since finding Billy is usually really easy. "All you need" is a guild sector and a sale sector anywhere in the run. ... and naturally a setup that is strong enough not to get immediatly annihilated upon entering that secret sector.

@@Cyrikyty or before entering as well, you do have to fight sylvan before you enter as well as what is within.

0:35 If you kill Sylvan himself you get a Rift Waker. It doesn't even take thaaat long to charge, with max upgrades and manning it's like 13 seconds, and it goes down to 0 after the first shot. The great thing about it is that 0 plus 30% is still 0. It literally ignores the downside of the internal Aether-Preigniter.
This pretender here gives you the Waker 0.5, which is just an improved Vulcan that ends up firing slightly faster than a regular Vulcan. And the preigniter only charges it's first chain, with it taking 6-7 shots to actually wind up. Honestly the preigniter would make it worse. Much, much worse.
