Tom👍👍 Wonderful trip back to Cimbrer camp, seems like home now, very inviting and cozy regardless of the weather😁 Delicious looking meal😋, could almost smell it through the screen and of course being followed up with signature Cimbrer coffee😉and a sweet smoke just made the return to the camp official. The new Helle knife is wonderful, has that classic look and I'm sure it will serve you for a very long time. Very nice gifts from your subscribers, the Opinel Slim knife is perfect for camp cooking, a steak knife, vegetable and meat prep etc., I love mine👌 The Viking oil lamp is unique, very nice addition to the camp. Great video and film work my friend as always😊thanks. See you next time. Enjoy!
Hey old man, hope your well. Video is great, nice and peaceful. Your cooking looks good. Well Bubba you take care and God bless. (Old guy from Arkansas)🇺🇸nice knife.

I was given a Helle Viking by a friend of my father a few years ago. It has become my primary outdoor knife. I like it a lot for the same reasons you do. I recommend them highly.

Excellent Knife! There is a Viking Age knife found in ice from the South Jotunheimen mountains - hope I've got the spelling right - that is very similar to the Saga Siglar. The blade type/shape, handle/material etc. This design has stood the test of time! I've found that it does all bush craft jobs with ease - a great all rounder! Great channel by the way - can't beat the trad' stuff!
I’m so glad you enjoy my videos and support my channel 👍🏻😁 And thanks for your info regarding the knife found in Norway ( and you spelled it correct 👍🏻😉) Appreciate having you onboard Steve 😊 and hope to see you again on my next one 🔥🏕🛶🇩🇰 Tom
Beautiful pair of knives, and leather sheath. Excellent gentlemen's case with accessories, beautiful folding knife. Nice oil light with wick. Love your channel.
My son was watching for the knives review but has just added extra bacon to our next food order; so much does he want to try your Camembert recipe. Great videos.
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Thank you Tom, absolutely will be back for more. Currently working through your other videos. The knife review was very helpful for son [looking ahead to Yule] and a replacement for me, for crafting - we both prefer older, cleaner styles and proper wooden handles. I have arthritis so the information on the handle girths was most helpful. We're also looking out for a good, general purpose/bushcraft axe [for son] should you be doing/have done a review on those?
I’m glad you like it Maggie 😁 and appreciate your feedback very much. In my series Bushcraft from A-Z I have a video about Axes and the one I show is a great little axe/hatchet that could be great for your son … link on my website Tom

Aloha Brother Tom!!! Amazing filming, cooking, bushcrafting and Helle review!!! The Saga Siglar voyage sounds amazing and I’ll enjoy researching it. Being from Oahu, Hawaii I am proud of the Houkulea Polynesian voyaging canoe that completed a Malama Honua (worldwide voyage) 2014-2017. Since 1975 artisans and keepers of knowledge from across the Pacific have united in this undertaking. As no one group had all the knowledge it required multicultural teamwork to achieve. I think the gentleman’s case was well given and I look forward to future presentations of it once it receives Cimbrer Care!!!
Thank you so much Steve for sharing this story with me 😁 Very interesting and clearly a great achievement 👍🏻😁. And thanks for coming along again in Cimbrer Camp 🔥🏕 Tom
I have one of the knives from the voyage. My wife bought it for me as a wedding gift from the ship when it came to lake Michigan here in Wisconsin USA. It has been a great knife for my deer hunting.
Hello Tom!! Every time I watch a video of you, I end up eating something. How hungry! Of course, that bacon-wrapped cheese is priceless. I have also fallen in love with your new knife, although I had to reach an agreement with my wife so that she wouldn't kick me out of the house for buying knives .... what a shame. I keep saying that you are lucky Tom, Noël has visited you in August before anyone else, knife, briefcase, you, lamp ... oh my! Well my friend, I am very happy to see you and know that you are well. a big hug.

I love Helle knives. Such beautiful craftsmanship goes into them. Great video, Tom. I enjoy hearing your Viking history & your Cimbrer camp looks like a peaceful, restful bushcraft basecamp. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend, my friend. Stay safe.
Tom, I love your idea of lunch. I was in love with bacon-wrapped cheese but then you made it even better with asparagus and a roll. It looked so yummy that now I'm going to have to try it myself. I have a Helle knife and I love it. Very beautiful and useful. Thanks for sharing your great gifts. I am a sucker for old school too, especially anything with containers and leather. All I can hear is the wind. If it's raining make sure you stay dry. We love asparagus at our house. We have it about every two days and it's good for you. You cut off more on the ends than I do.we like ours grilled. I love cheese. You should put some cheese all over your asparagus and make it even more delicious. I am still following you my friend tom. I hope your having a nice day. I love how you do your little wink after you spike your coffee. The two there look alot alike. Those are some good looking knives. Stay Safe.
I’m grateful that your following me Terri 👍🏻😁 and appreciate your kindness very much. I only cut the asparagus short so they could fit in the pan 👌🏻😉 otherwise I also have them longer. Hope to see you again on my next one 🔥🏕🌤 Tom
Hi Tom, that meal looked excellent. You definitely scored with the cool old school year. I love it, that's my style too. Take care my friend and I look forward to seeing you next week 😉.
Very nice to hear a story behind the Saga Siglar knife. Both knives are very cool. The cheese/bacon melt looked delicious! :-) That gentleman's case is great! Very nice and old school!! A wonderful gift. Love the cup with the wick & hook! That's unique!
Awesome video. I wish I'd stumbled on it 3 years ago, or that someone had made one similar back when this was released. I'd always wanted a smaller Viking, but somehow didn't know about this knife until just now. Pucked one up and not disappointed.
You really appreciate nice old things,as i also do. Im 66 years Young . My Mother is from Norway, I'd love to go there someday. I would love to Ride my Harley Davidson there.. i really appreciate your additude.
Thank you so much Jeffrey for your kind words 😁👍🏻 and for following us here in Denmark 🇩🇰 I hope you’ll be able to visit your ancestors country someday 👍🏻😉🇳🇴 it’s so beautiful up there🤗 Tom 🏕🔥🐕🇩🇰
Wow so nice Tom ! I believe that the opinel knife might be for fileting fish maybe. I always enjoy your videos Tom. Take care and stay safe my brother.
Excellent video again!!! Knife information was great. I gave my husband a Hults Burn ace made in Sweden earlier this year it's hand forged since 1697. Another knife I found is made in France called Deejo it's made for backpacking hiking it's super lite. I also have a Opinel knife I've had for at least 20 years but a much shorter blade than your. I guess you know I love knives and things that are made with quality craftsmanship. Thanks again for all the great video's😊
Ahhh yeahhh 😆 the passion for knifes is something I’ve had all my life 😇👌🏻and my wife doesn’t understand why lol 😂 Your very special JJ and your husband is lucky. Thanks for your feedback my friend 🔥🏕 Tom
Great video from the Cimbrer Camp - Good looking knives, the Scandinavian knife I have is a Marttini from Finland and I really like it ! ! Your gifts look really cool and the old case is amazing ! ! Tell next time have a GOOD one ! ! !
Hello Tom, A most interesting video mate. Ragnar i believe was Visti Skanvarde He started Saga Vikings here just north of Brisbane around 2000. I was a member & knew him very well.It was a great group focused mainly on Viking lifestyle & crafts & i helped train some of the group in combat & i used to import & make helmets, shields & Jewlery. Visti did build a ship here too.Fairly sure he has passed away to Vallhala
What a great story Kerry 👍🏻😁 Amazing that you have meet Ragnar … waw … I’m pretty sure he’s still alive though 🤔 but he must be getting old … born in 1948. Thanks for your feedback my dear friend 🔥🏕🛶🇳🇴🇩🇰 Tom
Tom, this opinel knife is a fish knife. Great to clean and prepare fish for cooking. Love your video! I have to try the Camembert cheese and bacon recipe !
Thanks for the video, so many cool ideas! I like the look of both knives, but would prefer the Saga Siglar. As a neck knife, with a longer leather strap, just like you showed, it would look amazing. Both knives remind me of the mora classic, but have much more class and character! Let's see if I can find the Saga Siglar for a reasonable price.
Great video Tom, just added camembert, bacon and asparagus to the shopping list for my weekend trip😂👍. Good review, very interesting knives and very old school. Keep the videos coming and keep drinking good Scottish whisky brother 🏴😄👍
Hope all is well Tom, I have been extremely busy myself. Working on house remodel and the farm. With fall and winter coming soon it will be time for me to get back in the woods. The summer it is to hot and to many biting bugs and poisonous snakes. Around here summer is lake time and winter is for time in the woods. Well I finally went and pulled the trigger on that svea 123r. Will be here tomorrow. I also ordered the optimus HE cookset, the svea packs right inside of it. That recipe is similar to one of mine, I wrap provolone in procuitto after oiling down and tearing basil. I then put on a cedar plank and smoke it for an hour. I do believe that is opinels filet knife for fish. All looked great, another nice piece of filmography. ATB and TC, Cris
Hello Tom, lunch looked yummy 😋 👌 Sunday 23 Aug in Providence,RI 🇺🇸 starting with very comfortable temps. By noon temps should reach high 80s. 🌞 Great summer so far. Went for walk to beach/bay. We dug for clams & made chowder. Stay healthy & God Bless you all. As you teach us Nature is the best Medicine. ❤😉☕
Tom! The food looked delicious! I really need to try that cheese wrapped in bacon! Thank you for the very good review of those knives. Interesting to hear the history of them and why they are different, and how they got the name. Always good to see you at camp!
That’s great Joe 👍🏻😉 I’m glad you found me my friend and grateful for your kind feedback Welcome onboard my Viking longship 😉 and if you have any questions … don’t hesitate to ask 🏕🔥🦌🌲🇩🇰 Atb 2U 🍻 Tom
Always love the videos. Great escape since we have had so many fires and the forests have been closed here. I love my Helle Viking. It is my most used Helle knife. All around good woods knife. Holding and using it is liking shaking the hand of our ancestors. Be well brother!
Thank you so much for your kind and positive feedback 😁 I’m glad you like it and great that you also use Helle knifes … awesome products indeed 👍🏻 Thanks for coming along 🏕🔥 Tom
Once again. A delightful video my friend. That meal looks really nice Tom. I particularly like the bacon wrapped cheese. I must try that for myself soon, and the knives of course, are 1st class quality. . Cheers Tom. Take care X
Thanks for sharing. I got my first Opinel when I was 12. The "long" Opinel is rather for fishes fillets. The Camenbert cheese is typical from Normandie in France (the province of the "North men", from where they invaded England in 1066 and where the Allies landed in 1944).
Helle knives are great. I have the Viking. This knife comes razor sharp. Extremely durable for normal use. I've used mine for six months daily since my oldest daughter gifted me one. Keeps its edge well. Easily my favorite knife.
Very interesting and enjoyable video - The Helle knives look fantastic and look like they are made very well from what I see in the video - The oil lamp looks similar to the medieval grease or lard lamps - Stay safe.
Great video Mr. Tom. Loved the new knife review and the explanation of the origin of the knife name. I believe that the Opinel knife that was gifted to you is a filet knife for filleting fish.
Great video brother, you should consider getting some hemp wick covered in bees wax or even use a match to light your pipe. If you use a zippo you are sucking in a bit of the lighter fluid which is really bad, the hemp wick or match tastes a lot better as well! Keep up the great videos
I buy the coarsest (thickest) Humboldt Hemp wick and wrap it around my Bic lighter for the same reason. It extends the flame without using up your fuel, plus it's healthier. And since it is impregnated with wax, it with bond easily to your lighter. It may not be "old school", but thousands of pipe smokers the world over can't be wrong.
Cool knives. Maybe they don't look as complicated as many of those modern "survival knives", but I bet they're just as functional, if not more. Besides, I like simplicity.
Thanks Edwin for your positive feedback and for coming along in Cimbrer Camp again 👍🏻😉 And it’s the simplicity I love the most about those knifes 🏕🔥 Tom
Hey! Great video!! Very beautiful knives. Very simple ones, but they seem very functional. I'm eager to try the little one. Oh, and btw I'll definitely try your lunch recipe! Take care!
Another great video, I am now really hungry after watching the food cooking. A great pair of knives.

Very nice to hear a story behind the Saga Siglar knife. Both knives are very cool. The cheese/bacon melt looked delicious! :-) That gentleman's case is great! Very nice and old school!! A wonderful gift. Love the cup with the wick & hook! That's unique!
That’s right Marjie 👍🏻😊 love that little lamp 🪔 in my camp
Thanks for joining me again and for your feedback 🔥🏕🌲 Tom
I like it very much, a nice straight knife, a nice tinted handle, the structure of the wood is clearly visible, an aged blade.
Thanks Arkadiusz for your positive feedback on my video and the knifes 😁👍🏻 Good to see you again in Cimbrer Camp my friend 🔥🏕🌲🌤🇩🇰 Tom
Awesome video. I wish I'd stumbled on it 3 years ago, or that someone had made one similar back when this was released. I'd always wanted a smaller Viking, but somehow didn't know about this knife until just now. Pucked one up and not disappointed.
That’s great Brian 😉👍🏻 and glad you found it. Thanks for the kind feedback 🏕🔥🌲Tom
You really appreciate nice old things,as i also do. Im 66 years Young . My Mother is from Norway, I'd love to go there someday. I would love to Ride my Harley Davidson there.. i really appreciate your additude.

Ahhh yeahhh 😆 the passion for knifes is something I’ve had all my life 😇👌🏻and my wife doesn’t understand why lol 😂
Your very special JJ and your husband is lucky. Thanks for your feedback my friend 🔥🏕

What a great story Kerry 👍🏻😁
Amazing that you have meet Ragnar … waw … I’m pretty sure he’s still alive though 🤔 but he must be getting old … born in 1948. Thanks for your feedback my dear friend 🔥🏕🛶🇳🇴🇩🇰
Tom
Tom, this opinel knife is a fish knife. Great to clean and prepare fish for cooking. Love your video! I have to try the Camembert cheese and bacon recipe !
That’s great Peter 👍🏻😊 hope you’ll like it 🧀🥓👌🏻😋 and thanks for coming along 🔥🏕
Tom
Nice video Tom! I liked the marketing history and the new marketing info. Good Job!
I’m glad to hear that Ted 👍🏻😊 and as always … great to hear from you again brother 🏕🛶
Tom
Thanks for the video, so many cool ideas!
I like the look of both knives, but would prefer the Saga Siglar. As a neck knife, with a longer leather strap, just like you showed, it would look amazing.
Both knives remind me of the mora classic, but have much more class and character!
Let's see if I can find the Saga Siglar for a reasonable price.
Hope you do Alexander 👍🏻😁 it’s a great knife and I know you’ll be happy for it. Thanks for your feedback and for coming along again 🔥🏕🛶🌤 Tom
Great video Tom, just added camembert, bacon and asparagus to the shopping list for my weekend trip😂👍. Good review, very interesting knives and very old school. Keep the videos coming and keep drinking good Scottish whisky brother 🏴😄👍
I sure will Andy 👍🏻😉🥃 love your whiskey very much. Thanks for your feedback and for joining me again 🔥🏕🌲
Tom
Thanks Cris for your feedback 👍🏻😁 and for sharing this with me. I’m glad you like my video and meal 🥓🧀😋👌🏻🏕🔥🛶
Tom

Always love the videos. Great escape since we have had so many fires and the forests have been closed here. I love my Helle Viking. It is my most used Helle knife. All around good woods knife. Holding and using it is liking shaking the hand of our ancestors. Be well brother!
Thank you so much for your kind and positive feedback 😁
I’m glad you like it and great that you also use Helle knifes … awesome products indeed 👍🏻
Thanks for coming along 🏕🔥
Tom
Once again. A delightful video my friend. That meal looks really nice Tom. I particularly like the bacon wrapped cheese. I must try that for myself soon, and the knives of course, are 1st class quality. . Cheers Tom. Take care X
Thanks Keith 👍🏻😊 and you do the same brother. Appreciate that you joined me again 🏕🔥
Tom
Thanks for sharing.
I got my first Opinel when I was 12. The "long" Opinel is rather for fishes fillets. The Camenbert cheese is typical from Normandie in France (the province of the "North men", from where they invaded England in 1066 and where the Allies landed in 1944).
Thank you so much for sharing this information with me 😁👍🏻
And for joining me again in Cimbrer Camp 🔥🏕🛶 Tom
The knives are great, but the case stole the show. Thanks for sharing
Your welcome Gerald 👍🏻😊 and I also love the sheath 👌🏻
Hope you’ll join me again on my next adventure 🔥🏕🛶 Tom

Tom
Beautiful knives. I visited the site and was in love hahaha
Ha ha that’s great Marco 👍🏻😁 I know … it’s hard not to buy one of those great knifes 😇🏕🔥
Tom
Helle knives are great. I have the Viking. This knife comes razor sharp. Extremely durable for normal use. I've used mine for six months daily since my oldest daughter gifted me one. Keeps its edge well. Easily my favorite knife.
Yeah it’s certainly a great little tool 😉👍🏻
Tom
Great vid dude! The Opinel such as that is for filleting fish. Keep up fun in the woods!
Thanks Eddie for your help 😁 and for joining me in Cimbrer Camp 🔥🏕🌤 Atb 2U. Tom
Great Channel Tom👍Greatings from Iceland
Thanks a lot Jaco 👍🏻😊 I’m glad you like my channel and videos and hope to see you again on my next one 🏕🔥
Tom
I like your spoons and cook ware great 👍 job I have to get one of those kettles😁
Yeah it’s a great kettle 👍🏻😉 and thanks for your feedback Gary and for watching some of my older videos too 🏕🔥Tom
Very interesting and enjoyable video - The Helle knives look fantastic and look like they are made very well from what I see in the video - The oil lamp looks similar to the medieval grease or lard lamps - Stay safe.
Thanks Tom for your feedback and info about the oil lamp 🪔
I’m glad you joined me again in Cimbrer Camp my friend 🔥🏕
Tom
Great video Mr. Tom. Loved the new knife review and the explanation of the origin of the knife name. I believe that the Opinel knife that was gifted to you is a filet knife for filleting fish.
Yeah I believe your right Andrew 👍🏻😊 it’s a filet knife 🔪. Thanks for coming along again and for your feedback 🏕🔥🛶
Tom
Thank you so much Rob for your concern 😊 and great advice 👍🏻😁. Maybe I’ll try that hemp wick … sounds old school and just my style 🔥🏕🛶🌲
Tom
Hi Tom!very delitios meal my friend😁😋😋😋Will try it out the very next time. As always thumb up!for your sensational video😊🖐🖐ATB!!!
Ahhh your so kind Dima 😁👍🏻 and I’m grateful for your feedback my friend. Hope to see you again soon 🔥🏕🛶
Tom
Cool knives. Maybe they don't look as complicated as many of those modern "survival knives", but I bet they're just as functional, if not more.
Besides, I like simplicity.
The simple knife is mach more comfortable and useful, I prefer yakut knife the handle is the same shape but the blade is different.
Thanks Edwin for your positive feedback and for coming along in Cimbrer Camp again 👍🏻😉
And it’s the simplicity I love the most about those knifes 🏕🔥
Tom
Exactly Martin 👍🏻😊 agree 100 % my friend. Thanks for your feedback brother 🔥🏕🛶🌤
