Yeah and what a sight John 😆💪🏻 it would have been scary to see Vikings with horns on their helmets storming over the battlefield 😳 Thanks for coming back to my 🏕🔥🌲🐕 Tom
Thanks for having me join you and Cornelius in Cimbrer camp, always a pleasure. Horns on helmets was something I always thought as a given with the Vikings, of course I learned something today. Just my perception of watching too many non authentic Viking movies I suspect. Nice fire, special coffee😉and good time, thanks Tom. See you soon.
The few horned helmets there were worn, was for ceremonial purposes only. Horned helmets are impractical in actual combat as the whole purpose of the shape of the helmet is to deflect the attacks, with horns it only gives something for the sword, axe or mace to hook on to and make more damage to the defender than protection.
Hey Tom, good to see your still out there enjoying life. Your looking well buddy. Always good to hear your stories, I do watch your films now and again. Take care my friend. Skal!! 🍺
I love the opening of the video where you burst through the doors of Cimbrer Camp with the horned helmet in, lol! Very funny. From my understanding, and I am no expert, it’s thought that some of the horned images are as you said representations of Odin 16:37 and the “horns” are actually Hugnin (sp.?) and Munin. It’s speculated that these few depictions of horned individuals represent a ritual or spiritual communication going on. I certainly agree that horned helmets would be impractical in battles and that probably only the wealthy could afford helmets (swords too). Loved seeing you make your coffee and enjoy Cimbrer Camp with Cornelius! Until next time, skål, my friend.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the Viking helmet with us 😉👍🏻 and yes I believe it has something to do with Odin 😁 … the Hugin and Munin aspect is new to me 🤔 so I appreciate that you are sharing it with me Glad you chose to visit us in CimbrerCamp 🔥 Tom
Yeah it was more efficient for sure 👍🏻🔥 but not as cozy as having an open fireplace inside my Viking house 😉🏕🌲 and if I only use dry wood 🪵 it’s fine 🔥🐕 Tom
I saw you try your best to hide a smile in the beginning when you jumped out in the horned helmet, tee hee. 🤭 Thanks so much for yet another well-done video, Tom! Oh, and very nice beeswax candle at 6:28. 🧡

It is still cold were I am as well little snow and windy, always like this before our rainy Season. Thinking about Horned Helmets and If there were any, like you said someone of high standard and I think for Ceremonial purposes like burials or maybe a Priest during sacrifice to the gods or safe journey at sea. Hello Tom, Great to see the new Adventure with you & Cornelius. It is allways a pleasure to meet you in Cimbrer Camp. I like your information about the Vikings, how they live and what gear they use.
Hej Tom and Mr. Cornelius🐕 I never get tired of your Viking series. Always fun and interesting. Love the new helmet from Grimfrost. The worn look you gave it really looks cool. Pas pa dig selv my friend and stay strong 💪
Hoi Tom, thanks for that meanful video again! In my region I've found metal peaces from the late middle age. In Zurich, Switzerland where the Normans has also been. Even villages are named by the Nordic nomads. That's super interesting. See you soon again my friend!
That was interesting! So only one viking helmet has ever been found? I guess for all we know that may be a rare design? And there seems to be a lot of suggestions in artwork that some may have had horns. Vikings were definitely very artistic. Love those Celtic helmets. Great video Tom!
Tom, I see your fire burning, both doors are open and the window behind you is open, the warm air is leaving the warm wood exhaust gas, so it can't get Cimbrer Camp warm at all. Tom, there is a double pipe as a chimney pipe, works like a heat exchanger, the warm used exhaust gas flows in the inner pipe from the Cimbrer Camp to the outside through the chimney, warming the fire with unused fresh air that flows into the Cimbrer Camp through the outer pipe, the window remains closed.
Thanks for your feedback Jochen 😉👍🏻and good advice 🔥 🏕 It’s actually warms up the shelter more than you should think 🤔 … and when I sit by the fire it feels warm and cozy there 🤗🐕🍺🌲 Tom
Hej Tom! I love the style of helmet u have! I think that paired with the chain mail over the lower face and neck makes a scary figure, plus a good Dane axe of course! I am of the opinion too that horns were for drinking mead and ceremony. Keep up the good work! Skål bror
Good to see you and Cornelius at your camp. Viking helmets Interesting topic. Are there very many active archeological digs going on looking for artifacts? Tom, hope you and Cornelius have a good week. Take care.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
Yeah there’s always some archeological digging going on 👍🏻😉 and they still find new information about our ancestors and learning new things about our culture heritage 🇩🇰💪🏻 Tom
Tom, much enjoyed vid. Interesting on the helmets. If they did wesr horned helmets when killed in action the next in line may have hot it. It is common symbol of leadership. I'm sure not all had them to begin with. I tell you about a dream someday and then years later the reality of it. All good. We had snow this week as well. Winter doesn't totally let go til 1st of May or so. Cornellius is looking good. Widh I could grow my hair back out like that. Haha. Hey be safe and see you next time..
Thanks for the video -I think it would be awkward to have horns on a helmet and how would you make them stay on so I agree that the no horn theory is absolutely correct ! again great video-time to make the coffee ! ! SKOAL !
Glad you found it interesting Elwyn 😁👍🏻 And the future will show if there are any horn helmets that are laying and waiting to be found 😆 … maybe 🤔 Skål 🍻 my friend and thanks for joining us in CimbrerCamp 🐕🏕🔥 Tom
Excellent historical synopsys of that particular piece of armor. Good sound information watching your Channel! Question: Do you know if the design of the helmet was influenced at all by the Romans? Your ancestors traded all over Europe and even deep into Eastern Europe during the Early Middle Ages... I was just curious if the design was indigenous to the Nordic region or if there was some influence from other cultures. You can definitely see Roman influence of armor in Saxon design and Norman design, but the helmets you displayed seem distinct and unique - if anything they seem to be reminiscent of Spartan design, although probably not likely. Thanks.
Good question David 😉 and hard to tell 🤔 When the Vikings came to the British isle the Romans had left centuries before and the influence of them would have been limited. My believe is that … like the ornaments that I told about in my previous video … the Norse people had their own way of doing things and probably the helmets had an unique design that was typically for that region 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴💪🏻 Tom
having done some blacksmithing, i would hazard to think that many of the helms and such would have been just forge black. cleaned with sand or a cloth to get the soot off.
well Tom it's another wonderful day at Cimbrer camp with you and Cornelius and sitting here having coffee with you. the vikings were probably the most feared warriors in history and maybe they had the horns on the helmet and maybe not but you got to admit, those horned helmets looked pretty awesome in the artwork of vikings and added to they're reputation but yes the horns would probably not be a good thing in battle. less chance of a glancing blow to the head. Dwayne
Ha ha that may seem this way 🤔 but don’t mistake the little Viking warrior dog 😡 he’s a VERY dangerous beast that fears nothing 😆 Thanks for your 🐕🇩🇰humours feedback 🤣 Tom
It’s like cornielous is actually looking at the camera lense , he’s very switched on hay , so cute patting your leg with his poor , saying pat me back , please 🙏
Thanks for the video, thanks for the info on the helmets. now Cornelius, see your stick, it got burnt, that is what you get for stealing the steak about a year ago LOL. have a great week.
Of course, if the helmets were all rusty, that could explain why so few helmets survived, and why the rich added panels of silver/gold decoration. On the other hand, I don't think they would be completely rusty as they could protect them with grease, but they would certainly be tarnished and not shiny and polished.
Hi Tom, great video as always. I have to say I think you're wrong about the finish on metal helmets. Although the vikings probably would not have obsessively polished them I do not thing they would have been allowed to rust. A rusty helmet is a compromised helmet in terms of structural integrity and as the only thing that's protecting your head from an axe, you really don't want that. Warriors and soldiers of every era are and were taught and expected to look after their equipment. All it would really take to protect a steel or iron helmet from rust is a regular light coating of beeswax or tallow.
@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag of course! It's a fascinating topic and you're right, we will probably never know for sure but that's what makes it such an interesting discussion. Another option for preserving the steel is to heat up and rub beeswax or linseed oil in so it burns off. That leaves a nice blackened finish.
I would have to believe that a helmet would be a valuable piece of gear and they would want to protect it from rust that would degrade it (just like a sword). I would have coated it with oil or tallow and heated it over a fire to polymerize the fat to produce a protective covering and temper the metal (heat to about 400°F) It would become black and non-reflective.
That’s a great suggestion 😉👍🏻 and we will probably never know how it was 🤔 and if the helmet was a common thing to wear Thanks for your 🐕🌲feedback brother 🏕🔥 Tom
I can't help but wonder if vikings would do something to treat their helmets to prevent corrosion. I'm virtually certain they would put some type of tallow on their blades to prevent rust. These were expensive belongings to a viking, and they probably had pride in ownership.
There is a piece of horse harness found in Sweden that show the Viksø helmets being worn. I always look at other cultures when thinking about things within my own or another culture. The Native Americans certainly wore head dresses with Buffalo horns, so it's not impossible that for ritual purposes or just to scare the enemy Vikings had these 'hats' or helmets. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, we're on the same page with that thought.
I think Tom is just making a short visit and coffee so not worth setting up a chimney (which he has done many times before) cornilious has fur and Tom has wool ..👍🏕
Of course it's cold it wouldn't be Scandinavian if not haha, You know people so love the horns on helmets, I looks cool, did the go I to battle with horns on probably. Not, but probability is not the last word or fact, However , maybe before battle, by the king or leader, , ceremonies I would say probably yes , it's an impressive sight, that's why people like to see it and the idea still prevails, Although the bronze age helmets are something different, with opening at the end and no pointed tip, I would consider they were not representing a weapon or an aggressive pose, And therefore a real mistery,
Bro.. what about the the most important find.. youu missed that? The vendel helmets from Sweden? The most well preserved and decorated helmets from the vendeltimes. Dated to 700 AD, 95 years BEFORE the viking age.
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Guess your knowledge of that age isn't that great buddy :P if you don't know the most important example of helmets from that time. Got some reading to do.
Well I get most of my information from the national museum here in Denmark 🇩🇰 and that helmet is not mentioned as a Viking helmet … so perhaps it’s not that important as you believe??😆💪🏻 Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yeah typical danish to not know history 😂 better check the Swedish museums. It's just the most famous (and only) helmet findings together with the gjermundbu helmet from Norway, from that age. It's 95 years BEFORE the viking age started though. So it's even earlier.

Good to see you having a smoke of the pipe i enjoy the Peterson's spigot its from Ireland🍀 it makes for a great smoke... Which reminds me of a poem... Entitled Smoke rings from my pipe....
All the long day’s weariness is done
I’m free at last to do just as I will
Take out my pipe, admire the setting sun
Practice the art of simply sitting still
Thank God I have this briar bowl to fill,
I leave the world with all its hopeless hype,
Its pressures, and its ever-ringing till,
And let it go in smoke rings from my pipe The hustle and the bustle, these I shun
The tasks that trouble and the cares that kill,
The false idea that there’s a race to run,
The pushing of that weary stone uphill,
The wretched i-phone’s all-insistent trill,
Whingers and whiners, each with their own gripe,
I pack them in tobacco leaves until
They’re blown away in smoke rings from my pipe
And then at last my real work is begun,
My chance to chant, to exercise the skill
Of summoning the muses, one by one,
To meet me in their temple, touch my quill
( I have a pen but quills are better still)
And when the soul is full, the time is ripe
Kindle the fire of poetry that will
Breathe and expand like smoke-rings from my pipe
Prince I have done with grinding at the mill,
These petty-pelting tyrants aren’t my type,
So lift me up and set me on a hill,
A free man blowing smoke rings from his pipe.
Great poem 😁👍🏻 thanks for sharing and for the feedback on my video 🤗🏕🌲🔥🐕🇩🇰

Fascinating information Tom. Thanks for your hard work in researching and.presentng.
Glad you enjoyed it my friend 🤗 and found it interesting as well 🔥
Tom
Thanks for another interesting video Tom!
Glad you like it Mark 🤗 and thanks for the kind feedback 🏕🔥🐕Tom
That was interesting! So only one viking helmet has ever been found? I guess for all we know that may be a rare design? And there seems to be a lot of suggestions in artwork that some may have had horns. Vikings were definitely very artistic. Love those Celtic helmets. Great video Tom!
Yeah that’s right 😉 only one helmet has been found and that’s why I believe we can’t rule out anything regarding helm designs
😆👍🏻🏕🔥🐕🌲Tom
thanks for your show i enjoy it very much
Glad you did John 🤗 and grateful for your visit in CimbrerCamp
See you soon 🏕🔥🐕
Tom

Tom
Very nice video. I enjoyed it very much.
Thanks Corvinus 🤗 I’m glad you enjoyed it my friend 😉👍🏻🏕🔥🐕🇩🇰
Tom
Tom, I see your fire burning, both doors are open and the window behind you is open, the warm air is leaving the warm wood exhaust gas, so it can't get Cimbrer Camp warm at all. Tom, there is a double pipe as a chimney pipe, works like a heat exchanger, the warm used exhaust gas flows in the inner pipe from the Cimbrer Camp to the outside through the chimney, warming the fire with unused fresh air that flows into the Cimbrer Camp through the outer pipe, the window remains closed.
Thanks for your feedback Jochen 😉👍🏻and good advice 🔥 🏕
It’s actually warms up the shelter more than you should think 🤔 … and when I sit by the fire it feels warm and cozy there 🤗🐕🍺🌲
Tom
Hej Tom! I love the style of helmet u have! I think that paired with the chain mail over the lower face and neck makes a scary figure, plus a good Dane axe of course! I am of the opinion too that horns were for drinking mead and ceremony. Keep up the good work!
Skål bror
Skål 🍻 Dan and thanks for the feedback 😉👍🏻 and your probably right regarding the horns 🍺
Tom 🏕🔥🌲🇩🇰🐕Tom
Good to see you and Cornelius at your camp. Viking helmets Interesting topic. Are there very many active archeological digs going on looking for artifacts? Tom, hope you and Cornelius have a good week. Take care.🇺🇲🔪🌲🔥
Yeah there’s always some archeological digging going on 👍🏻😉 and they still find new information about our ancestors and learning new things about our culture heritage 🇩🇰💪🏻
Tom
Tom, much enjoyed vid. Interesting on the helmets. If they did wesr horned helmets when killed in action the next in line may have hot it. It is common symbol of leadership. I'm sure not all had them to begin with. I tell you about a dream someday and then years later the reality of it. All good. We had snow this week as well. Winter doesn't totally let go til 1st of May or so. Cornellius is looking good. Widh I could grow my hair back out like that. Haha. Hey be safe and see you next time..
Ha ha me too Sam 😆🐶👍🏻 and thanks for the feedback and for joining us again 🏕🔥
Tom
Thanks for the video -I think it would be awkward to have horns on a helmet and how would you make them stay on so I agree that the no horn theory is absolutely correct ! again great video-time to make the coffee ! ! SKOAL !
Glad you found it interesting Elwyn 😁👍🏻
And the future will show if there are any horn helmets that are laying and waiting to be found 😆 … maybe 🤔
Skål 🍻 my friend and thanks for joining us in CimbrerCamp 🐕🏕🔥
Tom
Thanks.
Good question David 😉 and hard to tell 🤔
When the Vikings came to the British isle the Romans had left centuries before and the influence of them would have been limited. My believe is that … like the ornaments that I told about in my previous video … the Norse people had their own way of doing things and probably the helmets had an unique design that was typically for that region 🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴💪🏻
Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Thanks!
Nice one Tom I would Imagine that helmets were only used by high ranking warriors based on the fact Iron was very very rare and expensive 🤔
Yeah that’s right 😉👍🏻at least in the beginning of this period … later it was more common but still expensive 🏕🔥🇩🇰
Tom
having done some blacksmithing, i would hazard to think that many of the helms and such would have been just forge black. cleaned with sand or a cloth to get the soot off.
Thanks for sharing this with us Steve 😉👍🏻 that’s a way I haven’t thought about 🤔 so thanks brother 🏕🔥
Tom
Enhorabuena por tus videos y hay algo que coincidimos y es el fumar en pipa, con buenos tabacos.. buenos humos!!!
Thanks for your feedback Oscar 🤗🐕and greetings from us in Denmark 🇩🇰🏕🔥🌲
Tom
well Tom it's another wonderful day at Cimbrer camp with you and Cornelius and sitting here having coffee with you. the vikings were probably the most feared warriors in history and maybe they had the horns on the helmet and maybe not but you got to admit, those horned helmets looked pretty awesome in the artwork of vikings and added to they're reputation but yes the horns would probably not be a good thing in battle. less chance of a glancing blow to the head.
Dwayne
Yeah you’re absolutely right Dwayne 😉👍🏻 it looks cool 😎 and as it’s said … no smoke without a fire 💪🏻🔥🏕
Tom
Tom…it’s hard to appear Ferocious…when you have a Lovable little Partner, like Cornelius at your side!
Ha ha that may seem this way 🤔 but don’t mistake the little Viking warrior dog 😡 he’s a VERY dangerous beast that fears nothing 😆
Thanks for your 🐕🇩🇰humours feedback 🤣
Tom
Tom.. is Cornelius a schnauzer? We desperately want one here in Canada. Thank you so much for being you ❤
Lowchen-Bichon got it 😉
Great 😉👍🏻🐕 and thanks for following us on our adventures 🔥
Tom
I figured a horned helm would be cumbersome when worn on a ship. Might get tangled in the rigging. They just look not good? ;)
Yeah your probably right 😆 and thanks for sharing your thoughts with me 😉👍🏻🏕🔥🐕
Tom
Tom, do you leave coffee and a few supplies at the camp?
No I never do that 😉 I have mice 🐭 out there and they eat it all 😆 including my candles 🕯️ lol 🏕🔥🌲🐕Tom
❤❤❤❤
Thanks Kevin 🤗🐕🔥
Tom
❤️❤️
Thanks a lot 😁👍🏻🔥
Tom and 🐕🌲
It’s like cornielous is actually looking at the camera lense , he’s very switched on hay , so cute patting your leg with his poor , saying pat me back , please 🙏
Yeah he always does that when he wants attention 🤗🐶 and he also have focus on the camera … he’s a little film star 💫😉🐶🏕🔥
Tom
Thanks for the video, thanks for the info on the helmets. now Cornelius, see your stick, it got burnt, that is what you get for stealing the steak about a year ago LOL. have a great week.
Ha ha that’s right 😆🐶
I’m glad you chose to visit us again out in CimbrerCamp 🏕🔥🐕
Tom
Of course, if the helmets were all rusty, that could explain why so few helmets survived, and why the rich added panels of silver/gold decoration.
On the other hand, I don't think they would be completely rusty as they could protect them with grease, but they would certainly be tarnished and not shiny and polished.
Yeah you’re probably right Kevin 😉👍🏻 and I appreciate that you are sharing your thoughts with us 😁🏕🔥🌲🐕
Tom
We should thank Norway for the origin of Viking era that later spread to copy-cay nations in scandinavia.
🙂👍
Thanks Alex 😉👍🏻🏕🔥🐕🌲🇩🇰🍻 Tom
Thanks Tom as always. 🎸🔪
Your welcome Paul 😁 and glad you joined us again in 🏕🔥🌲🐕🇩🇰
Tom
Hi Tom, great video as always.
I have to say I think you're wrong about the finish on metal helmets. Although the vikings probably would not have obsessively polished them I do not thing they would have been allowed to rust. A rusty helmet is a compromised helmet in terms of structural integrity and as the only thing that's protecting your head from an axe, you really don't want that.
Warriors and soldiers of every era are and were taught and expected to look after their equipment. All it would really take to protect a steel or iron helmet from rust is a regular light coating of beeswax or tallow.
Yeah your maybe right brother 😉👍🏻 and we will never know for certain. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us 🤗🏕🔥🐕🇩🇰
Tom
@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag of course! It's a fascinating topic and you're right, we will probably never know for sure but that's what makes it such an interesting discussion.
Another option for preserving the steel is to heat up and rub beeswax or linseed oil in so it burns off. That leaves a nice blackened finish.
😉👍🏻🔥
I would have to believe that a helmet would be a valuable piece of gear and they would want to protect it from rust that would degrade it (just like a sword). I would have coated it with oil or tallow and heated it over a fire to polymerize the fat to produce a protective covering and temper the metal (heat to about 400°F) It would become black and non-reflective.
That’s a great suggestion 😉👍🏻 and we will probably never know how it was 🤔 and if the helmet was a common thing to wear
Thanks for your 🐕🌲feedback brother 🏕🔥
Tom
I can't help but wonder if vikings would do something to treat their helmets to prevent corrosion. I'm virtually certain they would put some type of tallow on their blades to prevent rust. These were expensive belongings to a viking, and they probably had pride in ownership.
Yeah that would be great to know Christopher 😉 but we will never know … but a good suggestion on how they would maintain their weapons
Tom 🏕🔥🌲🇩🇰💪🏻Tom
There is a piece of horse harness found in Sweden that show the Viksø helmets being worn.
I always look at other cultures when thinking about things within my own or another culture. The Native Americans certainly wore head dresses with Buffalo horns, so it's not impossible that for ritual purposes or just to scare the enemy Vikings had these 'hats' or helmets. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, we're on the same page with that thought.
That’s great 😉👍🏻and thanks for your feedback. As as you write … we can’t be certain … so let’s keep the option open 🏕🔥
Tom
Amon Amarth album cover 💪
Thanks a lot 😉👍🏻💪🏻
Tom
Liebe Grüße aus Ostfriesland Babs und Romina 🎉😊
Thanks Babs 🤗 and greetings from Nordjylland 🇩🇰🏕🔥
Tom
I think Tom is just making a short visit and coffee so not worth setting up a chimney (which he has done many times before) cornilious has fur and Tom has wool ..👍🏕
Ha ha that’s right 😆🔥and it’s not real Viking to have a chimney in the shelter 😉🏕🌲🐕
Tom
I'm sure man has decorated his armour in just about every possible and impossible way through the course of history. Look at the 'Winged Hussars'.
Yeah I’m sure your right about that Matt 😉👍🏻 and I appreciate your feedback very much 🔥
Tom
Didn’t opera performers start it?? Performing composers like Wagner? I think I read that somewhere.
Yeah that’s probably true 😉 and the Nordic countries adapted that very fast 😆💪🏻🇩🇰🇸🇪🇳🇴
Tom
tom, cornelius love the video horns on helmets my tinking is if a viking was swinging a sword or axe the horns would get in the way till next time🐉🐕
Yeah that’s true Ronald 😆👍🏻 and the Vikings were very practical in their behaviour 💪🏻😉
Tom 🏕🔥🌲
Of course it's cold it wouldn't be Scandinavian if not haha,
You know people so love the horns on helmets, I looks cool, did the go I to battle with horns on probably. Not, but probability is not the last word or fact,
However , maybe before battle, by the king or leader,
, ceremonies I would say probably yes , it's an impressive sight, that's why people like to see it and the idea still prevails,
Although the bronze age helmets are something different, with opening at the end and no pointed tip, I would consider they were not representing a weapon or an aggressive pose,
And therefore a real mistery,
Yeah that’s right 😉👍🏻 and thanks for sharing your thoughts with us
And maybe someday this mystery will be solved … who know 🤔
Tom 🏕🔥🐕
Is that wink a ©Trademark lad? 😉
Yeah I guess it has turned into that 😉👍🏻 and my followers are still appreciating it 😁
Tom
winter is over. good luck
Thanks 😉👍🏻 and happy spring time too you 😁🏕🔥🌲Tom
Bro.. what about the the most important find.. youu missed that? The vendel helmets from Sweden? The most well preserved and decorated helmets from the vendeltimes. Dated to 700 AD, 95 years BEFORE the viking age.
Yeahhh you’re right 🤔 why didn’t I show that example as well 😇 sorry my mistake 😉🇸🇪
Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Guess your knowledge of that age isn't that great buddy :P if you don't know the most important example of helmets from that time. Got some reading to do.
Well I get most of my information from the national museum here in Denmark 🇩🇰 and that helmet is not mentioned as a Viking helmet … so perhaps it’s not that important as you believe??😆💪🏻
Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yeah typical danish to not know history 😂 better check the Swedish museums.
It's just the most famous (and only) helmet findings together with the gjermundbu helmet from Norway, from that age. It's 95 years BEFORE the viking age started though. So it's even earlier.
😉👍🏻🇸🇪🇳🇴🇩🇰
The horns on the relief carvings seem exaggerated and are only worn by one character: perhaps such helmets were only used for religious purposes.
Yeah that’s one of the possibilities James 😉 and I appreciate your feedback very much 👍🏻
