I just had to see this video about your knives, Tom! As a girl, I really was not taught much about them, tho my Grampa taught me a little whittling. I watch a RUclipsr called "Fun in the Woods with Dave Pearson", and he taught me about knives, machetes and axes. You would love his channel! He films with his son, Nick. He taught me also about sharpening, and I am working on this skill, on all my knives and Dad's knives and scissors! 😆 Whenever he is missing stuff, he yells for me! 😆 and finds me sharpening!
Ha ha great story 😁👍🏻 and thanks for sharing this with me. Since I made that video I’ve got A LOT of new knifes so maybe it’s time for making a new video 🤔 🏕🔥🌲Tom
I have a friend who owns well over two thousand knives, and still buys dozens every year. I don't have the money or the cash to do the same, but he sure enjoys his collections. I've probably owned a couple of hundred over the decades, but I gave some away, lost some, had some stolen, traded some, an sold some. Right now, I own seventeen fixed blade knives, and a bunch of Trapper, Stockman, and Barlow pocketknives, I carry a Ka-Bar when I go into the woods because it's a knife I know well after forty-four years of use. I can do anything from skin a large animal to throw it like a dream, so it's always with mr, but the pocketknives do all the real work. The pocketknives are woodsmen knives, one and all. The pocketknife with more than one blade has been the workhorse of the woodsman for hundreds of years, and still is today. Which means I keep buying these patterns, even though I already have twenty times as many of each as I will ever need. Other than the Ka-Bar, I have little need for a fixed blade knife, especially since I love a good tomahawk, and use one like a knife, but I still love knives, and buy many I know I'll never use. Anyway, as usual, a good, interesting video. Keep making them, and I'll keep watching them.
Thanks James … and waw… what a passion for knifes 😊 and what a collection. To have so many knifes must be like being in heaven 😇 Thanks for sharing your experience with us and for your support 👍🏻😁
Nice video! Being the son mentioned in this video, I wanted to correct that I think I owned both of those children's knives at some point. I remember using the little one, when my jacket got stuck in slide on a playground. I had the knife with me and cut myself loose. So it definitely has been used - otherwise I might still be stuck on a slide in Norway :D
That's much how my knife timeline line progressed over the years. You can see how my interests changed and notice the trends as I move from one blade form to another blade form. I bought plenty of poor choice knives and plenty of decent useful blades as well. Though I've given many away, I still kept a few. They are all quite memorable every time I look at them. Thank you for sharing.
Finally got to see this. Lots of great knives there. The Mora knife story sounded familiar. I had one of those myself, still have it. I haven’t been unlucky like that, though.
Yes 👍🏻 😄 the old Mora knife with the red handle … wondering if they still make them 🤔 … anyhow … I love my knifes and their story. Thanks for your inspiration to make the video 👍🏻😁
The next time my wife asks why I spend extra money on a good knife I'm going to show her this video. Having knives that long shows the work in them and your care for them. Excellent video.
You are a very good leather smith. You also have some interesting knives. I really like the last one. I have a couple of nice knives made in Solingen Germany.
Thanks Rolf for your kind and positive feedback 👍🏻😁 that’s great 😁 and I appreciate your support very much. I hope you have subscribed to my channel and that you’ll enjoy some of my other videos to See you on the next one 🏕🦌
What a great collection of knives Cimbrer Bushcraft and always great to see what another man is using . Your handmade knives are Awesome as is your English language and perfect speaking voice . An old Harley rider here ... but these days I spend more time on a BMW motorbike . Best wishes sent to you and yours and thanks for your videos . Lefty - in a very warm New Mexico .
I envy you quite a bit …😇 regarding the warm weather I’m looking forward to spring here in Denmark 🇩🇰 🌳🌱 BMW is also a cool bike 😎 The most important is to ride Take care my friend 👌🏻😊
Thanks for sharing! Some fantastic knives and the stories make them more personal. Love those sheaths too! Another Great video....now I'm off to shop for a new knife...
This has been such fun series my friend. Thanks for sharing. We have been working in the shop, made some fun stuff again today. Thanks again and have a blessed weekend my friend. Dale
I bought both of my daughters the Mora scout this year for Christmas. They are 6 and 8 yrs old. They seem to be very interested in carving. They just need to learn patience. Great video!
Hi Tom 😊 I recently purchased a knife for camping purposes it is not a expensive knife by any means lol 🤑 and it has a stainless steel blade it's quite challenging to sharpen but I really love the feel of it in my hand perhaps in the future when I'm more proficienat with using it I will Invest in a good carbon steel blade but this will do por practice purposes ATB my friend 😊👍🏽✌🏾✊🏾💪🏾 BUSHCRAFT FOR LIFE🌲 is my new slogan.
Very interesting! I have the scout knife that you bought for your son, somewhere. They sold those in the States as well. I also have one that is almost identical to the German WWII one that you have. I have the metal sheath, but the leather part, which think is called a Frog, is gone. Mine was a barn find in central Texas on property owed by a WWII vet. The emblem in the handle is missing. I looked it up and the one that I have seems to be like what they issued to the Nazi war youths. They are very robust and the design is very similar to many bush crafting knives. Bad people, but they made good gear.
Cool knife collection 👍 I have the same condor and Mora knives my favourite is a Helle odel my son made for me after buying the blank blades. Keep these great vids coming man thanks.👍
The Rambo knife may not be practical but with the sheath and the way you wrapped the handle its beautiful and Manly. The two you made are awesome as well.
Nice collection of knives, something I can look at all day long. That first knife looks like what is called in the USA, a Boy's Scout Knife, in fact it looked like the logo was on the knife, it's like a Fleur De Lis. That second knife the black handled one, I have one, it says Normark on it, Fiskars Finland, although the Normark folder I have is stamped Sweden. That third knife, the Original Bowie I have a few of those, the ones I have are made in Germany even the sheath has Germany stamped on it. Those knives are all excellent quality and given good care will last a lifetime. That stag handled knife is really nice, I can well understand why you spend the money on that one, it's truly a fine blade. I have a few knives that are similar, like a half dozen different Mora Knives, they are all a great buy for the money. If you like those one piece hollow handle knives, check out the Schrade Extreme Survival Knives, I have 5 of them. Two of the SCHF1, two of the SCHF41 and one SCHF2. The 1 and 2 models come with a tool kit in the handle the 41 models don't, the tool kit can be removed if you prefer to carry something else. They are thick stock and are quite heavy, just something you have to keep in mind if weight is a factor for you. Thanks for sharing your knife collection. I would be interested to know how you sharpen your blades, if you don't have a video on it.
Waw that’s some awesome collection of knifes you have 😁 And a great knowledge 👍🏻👌🏻 I’ve made a knife sharpener myself and there will be a video regarding that soon 👍🏻😉🔪🔥 thanks for sharing your experience with us 👋🏻
Hi Canada … glad to hear from you. And I’m glad you found my channel 👍🏻 welcome on board. Hope you’ll be happy for all my previous videos to Thanks for your support 👌🏻
this channel rocks!!!!! BUSHCRAFTER CHANNEL sent me over and i'm so glad he did. subbed! can't wait to see more. im also a knife junkie and thought I had quite a collection...until I saw yours lol...thanks so much for sharing the awesome knives and stories.
Thank you very much for your kind words about my English … I always wonder what you English speaking people are thinking about my pronunciation 😀👍🏻 … so thanks for your feedback 👌🏻
Thank you fore an interesting video. When I was waching youre video fore the first time,i thought about to ask you to make a video about youre knifes, and you have heard my thoughts.I also have a small collection of knifes and my favorites are scandinavian tipe like Mora, Helle, FinnVolf by Cold Steel-is one of my favorites. On my 60-s my sons presented me a very good knife made from russian "bulat"-it is like damaskus. It s a pity I can not show the foto of my knifes here.
Hi 👋🏻 … well maybe our thoughts has met its other and that’s why I made this knife video 😇 And nice to hear from and other knife fetishist. The knife that you son gave you … sounds awesome 😎. To bad you can’t upload photos here ☺️
Good Video; I like the knife you made with the white handle that I think you said was made out of camel bone and I also like the Harpoon fishing knife ( I really like that knife, would be perfect for fishing).
Thanks for your comment. Yes it’s a little fine knife with Camels bone … nice in the hand and smooth to handle. And also a great harpoon … I’m not sure that I’ll ever be using it… though 🤔😏
Nice video. Bushcraft Channel sent me over. I love knives so good place to start. Noticed the shirt. Denmark has some great runs. Eventually I hope to get over there.
Hi my biker brother 😎 nice to hear from you 👍🏻 Yes we have some great runs and a very nice bike culture that allows all kinds of people to be a part of the biker community 👍🏻😎
I adore knives since my childhood..if l collect them all l would have to build a museum)) Now l use several knives in my hikes: Kizlyar Samur, SRK, Opinel 10 and Farid K2..all the rest are resting on the shelf) Knives are realy awesome😊👍🏻
The first knife: I KNOW THAT KNIFE! -I remember it from Skagen in "ancient times"...and the Hitler Jugend-story: To a kid THAT really made a young boy's eyes as large as teacups! :D
When i saw the Thumbnail-Picture i thought "holy cow". But i guess that is what is called a lifetime collection. I like that little Brusletto. Maybe i get me one next year when i return to Norway. There are no folding Knifes in your collection, no Swiss Army Knife thing. And neither a Multitool. Any reason for that? I got myself a Rangerwood 55 some years ago and it´s one of my prefered Knifes while being outdoors. Except when i want to do some more heavy duty kind of things. Then i switch to a Fällkniven F1, which i also like very much (except of the sheath).
Hi my friend … I really think you should buy the Brusletto. It’s a great knife. I made a video regarding my folding knifes and multi tools not so long ago … it’s in my Bushcraft series … under the letter J ( jackknifes) check that out and let me hear what you think 💭 … greetings 🤗
As usual very well done , great video and I love that kept your children's knives all these years. That tells me lot about the kind of man you are Tom. When you try to say sheath it makes laugh because it sounds like you are saying "shit" but I know you are not 😁
Hi Keith … nice to hear from you again 😊 … and YES … I know I often says “shit” instead of sheath 😊 It’s not easy when you are Danish and only have learned English in school … for a looooooog time ago. Thanks for your comment and support 👍🏻😀
Master Tracker yeah them (ol timers) sure had sayings. I love the ol ways and I keep them ol ways alive. They have helped me survive for the past 54 years. The weather is about to change here in Alabama. It's about to get hot, I mean hotter than a vcr in a crackhouse !
Hello friend, I am a follower of your channel for some a long time and i am watching all your videos. I wanted to ask you about this video, one of the knivesthat show is shaped like a harpoon, in fact, on this sheet he puts "harpoon". Could you tell me what brand is that knife? I just have to congratulate you on your channel, it is great. Thank you and greetings from Spain
Thanks for your feedback and support my Spanish friend 😊👍🏻 … it’s a Outdoor edge harpoon and I bought it her: www.lamnia.com/da/p/14134/knive/outdoor-edge-harpoon-overlevelseskniv Hope you can find it there Atb to you and your family 🌤
Camping, although I have not been camping.. I also have a set of knives, about twenty knives.. I have some camping tools.. I also make knives myself.. Greetings to my good friend Emad from Iraq
That’s great Emad 😉👍🏻 I’ve always wanted to begin making knifes 😉 Are you making the steel as well ? … blacksmithing Thanks for your feedback and for joining me again 🏕🔥Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yes, I choose a piece of steel and make a knife from it according to the design I want But I'm not that skilled, I'm just an amateur.. However, I make a good knife For you, you have good skills and it is okay to try to make your own knife and according to your mood.. you will see that it is easy
great collection, i can mostly see the style of knife you like best, (small and practical) aside from the ugly tactical knife which doesnt seem to fit your collection, lol (looks life a divers knife)
Love your collection, tell me I think I heard you say something about the law and not being able to carry one. Am I correct, is this accurate. The liberals are after our guns here in the US, several States have gun laws that seem a little harsh. Arkansas and many other States are very gun loving places here in the US. We love our guns. I like that bone handle last knife you showed. (Old guy from Arkansas)🇺🇸
For some years ago they made a very restrictive knife law 🤔 mostly because there was some episodes with outlaws bikes that killed some rivals using a knife … but for about 2-3 years ago they made it less restrictive and I can carry a knife when I’m in the forest ore if I’m going fishing 👍🏻😁. But still … have to be careful not to show it at public places 🙂. Guns a absolutely forbidden to buy and wear here in Denmark 🇩🇰 And I’m happy for that, because there is almost no episodes with gun shooting here in my country 👌🏻😁😎 See you on the next one 🌤🏕
Cimbrer Bushcraft Tom that’s great about the lack of shootings, seems like every time we turn around there’s another school or church shooting here in the states. We do love to hunt and fish, we love to feel protected from tyranny having our 2nd amendment in our constitution and being able to conceal carry. But having such easy access is not a good thing. I think we can learn a lot from you and others and countries like Denmark. We do have a knife law that says we can’t openly carry anything with a 6” blade or more. I think that’s correct, that’s what I was told many years ago. It sure does sound like Denmark is a very nice place. By the way how old are you my friend?
yes i remember the first knife from i whas a boy, all wulf kids or fdf drenge and whent to camp whant to hawe a knife like that in the belt he he looks at that time almost like a baronet,
I just had to see this video about your knives, Tom! As a girl, I really was not taught much about them, tho my Grampa taught me a little whittling.
Thomas V glad you liked it. I got that from my Dad, he was very ol school ! I got that one and many more from him...
+Alabama Bushcrafters my grandpa used to say.....son that's funny even if you don't like it lol.
Thomas V sounds just like my Pops ! God rest his soul ! I sure do miss that ol fart....
Master Tracker yeah them (ol timers) sure had sayings. I love the ol ways and I keep them ol ways alive. They have helped me survive for the past 54 years. The weather is about to change here in Alabama. It's about to get hot, I mean hotter than a vcr in a crackhouse !
hvad brugte du til at få coating af knivene?
Hello friend, I am a follower of your channel for some a long time and i am watching all your videos. I wanted to ask you about this video, one of the knivesthat show is shaped like a harpoon, in fact, on this sheet he puts "harpoon". Could you tell me what brand is that knife? I just have to congratulate you on your channel, it is great. Thank you and greetings from Spain
Thanks for your feedback and support my Spanish friend 😊👍🏻 … it’s a Outdoor edge harpoon and I bought it her:

Camping, although I have not been camping.. I also have a set of knives, about twenty knives.. I have some camping tools.. I also make knives myself..
Greetings to my good friend
Emad from Iraq
That’s great Emad 😉👍🏻 I’ve always wanted to begin making knifes 😉 Are you making the steel as well ? … blacksmithing
Thanks for your feedback and for joining me again 🏕🔥Tom
@@cimbrerbushcraft-vikingheritag Yes, I choose a piece of steel and make a knife from it according to the design I want
But I'm not that skilled, I'm just an amateur.. However, I make a good knife
For you, you have good skills and it is okay to try to make your own knife and according to your mood.. you will see that it is easy
😁😄😁😀🤗 my friend Tom
I hope to join you in camp..maybe one day..thank you for your kindness
Useful. Thanks.
Your welcome 🙏🏻 and thanks for your interest in my channel
You have nice knive colection, i bought Skrama for varusteleka.fi and i recomendet that strongly... Its heavy but it is exelend for buscraft jobs....
Don’t know much about that knife 🤔 but it looks great and very durable 👍🏻😉 Thanks for your feedback and support 🏕
See you on the next one 🔥🦌
Knifes, one of humanitys great great inventions & a versatile tool. My wife says its a GUY thing. She collects tea cups.
Ha ha … yes that’s the way it is
My wife can’t understand my passion for knifes either 🤔
Have a wonderful weekend
See you on the next one 🔥🌲
great collection,
i can mostly see the style of knife you like best, (small and practical)
aside from the ugly tactical knife which doesnt seem to fit your collection, lol
(looks life a divers knife)
You’re right … about my favourite knifes. 😁👍🏻 Thanks for your comment 👌🏻😀
Guns a absolutely forbidden to buy and wear here in Denmark 🇩🇰
And I’m happy for that, because there is almost no episodes with gun shooting here in my country 👌🏻😁😎
See you on the next one 🌤🏕
By the way how old are you my friend?
yes i remember the first knife from i whas a boy, all wulf kids or fdf drenge and whent to camp whant to hawe a knife like that in the belt he he looks at that time almost like a baronet,
Thanks Stefan for sharing your knife story with me 😊
I guess you love them to 🏕
Tom
Haa, your English is 99% better than My German...
That’s a comfort 👍🏻😀 thanks
Sorry aber geht es auch auf Deutsch?
Nein leider nur auf englisch 😇

Denmark 🇩🇰 👍🏻😊👋🏻 greetings
Widzę że zebrała ci się nie zła kolekcja
Nie, mam dobrą kolekcję noży, z których jestem zadowolony. Dziękujemy za opinię. Tom
Actually, it's not funny story about mora knife... Be careful! Keep yourself!
Yeah I know 🤔 But I got a lesson and haven’t done that since that experience 😆👋🏻
Thanks for your feedback 🏕
Tom
