    Very informative video and was well explained. There is one thing my Dad told me years ago and that is when you’ve finished cooking to leave the burners running and then turn off the bottle’s tap. After the burners run use the gas just remember to close them off until next required. This prevents the gel forming in the tinsy (my term) jets over time.

    Good to see a bit of reduce, reuse and recycle in this throw away world.
    Might I suggest that people look a bit closer at what they are buying and ask a few questions before buying the cheapest crap they can as it will likely save them money in the long run.
    I have a Coleman dual fuel stove that I run on unleaded fuel and it feels bulletproof. Parts are also easily available if required from what I have seen.
    Always cheaper buying something once.

    • @Alex.G
      @Alex.G  3 года назад

      100% mate I make an effort to buy good quality gear and second hand where I can too. Then you get it at the same price as the cheaper shit is new, and it'll last you forever! Those old Coleman stoves are pretty bulletproof and it helps that they've barely changed the design for yeaaaars

      @@Alex.G I have the lantern as well but for its size and output it struggles against modern LED lights It is handy to have either way in case of power failure at home.
      The thing I like about the petrol is that it is cheap and easy to get/carry, heat output is good and I'm not carrying a gas bottle around in the car.

    I tried this with the old 20 year old two burner stove I had stored in the attic. The right hand burner still works great, left hand the flame is very low. It didn't help. Oh well, the old gas camping stove is just there for a back up. The left hand burner will be good for doing my slow cook beef stews, I guess.
    I still love my two burner Dometic Origo 3000 metho cooker. One thing I'd never part with because it's simple and never fails.

    Thanks SO much for this video. very well done, and so informative. You've shown how to refurbish my stove in a way that was easy for me to follow and understand. I just know my little cooker will be up and running well very soon, thanks to your help. I use my Coleman out on my screen porch in summertime for canning. It puts out more heat, quicker, than my indoor gas range by far. I call it my "outdoor canning kitchen". It keeps the house from getting overly warm during summer months and has been a Godsend for me. And with canning season coming up soon, I need to be ready! Again, thanks!!!

      Awesome to know another could be saved from the dump 😁 with the hose, they are a pretty common thing. Look up "Companion gas hose" on Tentworld.com.au. You'll probably want to take the stove into a camping store to make sure you get the right thread type, but they should be available off shelf just about anywhere.

      I used to drive gas forklifts and if there was a slight leak or the valve wasn't opened enough you could get the valve freezing up.
      I'm no expert so dyor but doing what he did with the soapy water may indicate a problem if there is a leak.
