thank you for taking the time to make this video. I have a camp chef that has this style system. I was able to do exactly what you showed here and reassemble the stove But it didn't work. i probably need new nozzles i suppose. Reassembly isnt worth the effort to be honest. After the struggle iv experienced and as much as i love to fix things, i despise the way this was made. Very difficult to access and lineup the parts. At least on the camp chef ranier. Not worth the trouble. But your video was so helpful in helping me determine that my stove is junk. I will steer clear of purchasing anything with this setup in tje future. Cheers
If both burners have no gas have a look at the connection to the bottle some have a mesh screen or a jet. I bite the bullet a few years ago and bought a Partner Steel stove from the USA expensive but well made and easy to Service. As long as it doesn't get stolen I should be able to keep it going for decades
@@kisbushcraftdownunder Thank you for the input. No, there is no mesh screen or any way to open up that part of the gas lines. But I do appreciate you chiming in.
After looking closely at where the propane intake is, it needs a smaller valve stem. i was using the Coleman spout that I have. I'm convinced that that is definitely what is going on. It does not operate with a coleman spout. Makes sense
@@AdrianClement I had a look 👀 at your video that Coleman hose is a low pressure regulator I don’t know what the stove had from factory. I have seen similar problems here in Australia with regulators and hoses been fitted to high pressure stoves
@kisbushcraftdownunder i do believe that could be the problem here. This is a coleman spout. After close inspection, it does not work with this stove. I am trying to find the original. It may still be junk without it. Hey thanks for watching my video. And for your input. I think you are correct.
I spent a Christmas at Exmouth 45 degrees day time 35 degrees over night and howling wind constant for a week destroyed tents ,awning and sand everywhere not my happiest camping 🏕trip regards Mike
90% chance its the small jet at the valve after you remove the burner turn the valve on you should feel the gas coming out if not close the valve then remove the jet and try again if the gas flows you have got your culprit make sure you work in a well ventilated area regards Mike
That's great I just got back from a Easter camping trip I saved a fellow camper a 300 km trip for a replacement stove. His was blocked jets I got them clean enough to work by boiling them and a little air from my tyre compressor
on the 2 burner stove ... on the propane tank is there a regulator or is it a direct connect ( without the regulator ) , I have a (new ) adjustable regulator with reg opened wide , the burners on the stove are not getting the correct pressure , With this reg I can cover the air input holes with tape and punching a small hole in the tape seems to work better , with this type of camp stove connected to a 20 pound BBQ tank is a regulator required ???? or maybe the orfice partly stoped up ?
The high pressure stove doesn’t have a regulator only very small jets. In Australia stoves that have regulators come in two types low and high pressure rates colour coded blue or red . You can’t adjust the pressure only the volume of gas check you have the right components firstly. If the stove is burning 🔥 clean with a blue flames but only a low flame it’s probably a flow problem but if it’s yellow it’s a mixture problem
My Nomad is leaking at the connection where hose screws into the stove. It has a Schrader valve on the end. Any tips as to why it's leaking there? Cheers mate. Great video.
Are you sure it’s a valve some cookers have a jet inside the supply hose .I have seen valves on stoves with low pressure regulator but not on the high ones. But things change I would check it’s the right hose and the seals are the correct ones and good soapy water will help you pin point the leak
Thanks for the tips, My gas stove leaks at the connection from the stove to the brand new hose, is there a simple fix for this or has it seen its last days
Bill Miller hi Bill for reliable car camping I would look at Coleman the USA made ones in hammer tone green with a regulator for gas. You would need a steady hand and good eyesight to wire clean them you can boil them in water to remove oily residue or carburettor cleaner.I have seen jets sealed with a white paste at the threads probably pipe sealant , makes them hard to get out regards Mike

Primus has good back up I looked online in Australia I found Bairnsdale Camping and Outdoors they had a page of Primus jets and they post Australia wide sales@bairnsdalecamping.com.au might be worth contacting them.
