I like those Tranes. Put a few in myself. Easy to diagnose. Nice vid. Enjoyed. M

We pretty much only sell/ install American Standard Platinum Series inverters. We stock a drive at our shop, eev control board, and all the temperature sensor for Tam 9, and tam x. I carry all the temp sensors on my van as well as a dome sensor. Good things about the systems is almost all the parts are interchangeable for 2-5 tons. And also for any of the haters out there, the units really don’t break as often as people say. And most of the time, it is a silly issue that will be taken care of the same day if you have a decent service company. Would 100% recommendations.

Great video Charles but I don't like the plastic version of the compressor sleeve jacket it might be the cause of that sensor overheating prefer the felt velcro style ones you can buy on the aftermarket to quiet and help the compressers run more efficiently while protecting from the outdoor elements and excessive heat.
As for the sensor at least you put the corect type on on with a harness plug without screwing up the actaul system plug like a certain pipe dr wouid do.
Its like cars with oxygen sensors and other sensors just put the right one on not the universal oxygen sensors.
And it does not have to be the one just like what came from the factory I can get plenty of aftermarket sensors that perform better than the oem part.
As for the comment about inverter systems I agree but I don't like that with companies like trane carrier and Lennox you have to buy a comunicating system that's often over priced just to get the inverter technology in a split system and that they are, still using old school top mount condensers.
And I have said that before Mitsubishi offers no comunicating split systems with inverter technology so does Samsung so does pioneer so does gree.
    .
There is no excuse for this Charles I want to believe in the American companies again but the 2 or 3 genuine true American companies that are left make it hard now to believe.
They need to get it together.

When it comes time to replace my system. I will go with a xv18 as i was in the shop one day seen new part for our thermo king reffer. And lo and behold the train logo and name was on the Thermo King box. We have had very good performance from thermo king. Unlike our carrier units that seemed to fail and shut down on all kinds of little errors. Thermo Kings keep on working I will say when a Thermo King goes down they go down hard.

Nice job. The diagnostic module makes it easier to diag. I’m an AS dealer but I mostly do 15.2seer2 systems and some two stage.
I don’t like callbacks. We’re in So Cal Los Angeles area so humidity is not a factor.
Cheers and keep the videos rolling.

Need to carry some 10 k om resisters . You can put that in place of the dome sensor until the dome sensor is replaced.

Hey charles sorry to comment again I just checked the pipe Dr's channel and saw the comments considering our discussion about his crappy practices it looks like he is, setting up operations not only in Florida but also south carolina for which I think Ted cook services as well and charles I think he is setting up operations in North Carima too so be prepared to get him booted from your state and don't let him near your tranes or if you do get that call be prepared charles for you and Ted to have to redo wiring harnesses or plugs. Just letting you know but at least I. This trane you did the sensors right.

in certain situations they make sense - like zoned setups to cut capacity when only one zone is calling and heatpumps in cold climates with inverter tech improving cold weather performance.
It's all about using what's appropriate for the application - use high end stuff when the benefits outweight the pitfalls.

Would it be a viable repair to simply replace the sensor portion and splice the wires to the existing plug and wire run through the cabinet similar to an inline float switch? Then full removal and feeding in a new one could be avoided. What say you?
