@@kieranmitchell5088 Larger crop plots can hold a max of more crops. A small crop plot can hold a max of 50, a medium can hold 100 and a large can hold 150
I don't know if this is still relevant but you can only grow certain plants in certain sizes of plots. Berries can be grown in any size plot, but crops (citronel, savoroot, longgrass, rockkarrot) can only grow in medium or larger sized plots, and defensive plants (plant species X,Y,Z) can only be grown in large plots. I don't know about Tek plots though.
Three more things for farming tutorial: -the only reason you would tame phiomia is bc they can fill your base with shit in no time, you just have to hold E on the berries in their inventory (i think) -iguanodon can transform all berries into their seeds -dung beetle can be used for making fertilizer
If you're playing on PC, I use a Plateosaurus from the Additional Creatures 2: Wild Ark mod. It makes Narcotics automatically in it's inventory without the need for spoiled meat. Another nice addition for the farming squad. Also I enjoy a weight spec'd Therizinosaurus as a wood harvester (Power) & another for rare flowers/fiber (Delicate Harvest). I clear the trees with the Therizino as it does not harvest the plants. That way my berry collector(s)/Plant collector(s) can come in and harvest away without getting unnecessary thatch and wood weighing their inventory down.
When you go into your inventory, there’s buttons at the top (where you would find engrams) the second to last button is a taming tracker. If you can feed the bee at least once you can track her
If you put your honey on a fishing rod it completely pauses the spoil timer. The only downside is that each fishing rod weighs 10.0, I just have a vault of fishing rods next to where i keep my hives.
This guide has helped me soooo much. Can't wait for the kibble episode cause honestly I'm tired of wasting so much time waiting around for a dino to finifh taming and the wiki isn't really straight forward like your videos.
Love the video and I know I'm late (video came out 8 months ago lol) Just an extra tip goodie, if you build the greenhouse 3 high you get the maximum effect from the greenhouse.
@@lennyadelaide4795 yes just make sure you have the crop plot out first if you’re on console. To make it easier only build two sides of the walls. The ladder will alway snap to the middle of a foundation.
I'm a little late with this, but while I watched your stream for this videos grind work I wanted to say you can change the intensity of the lights, so they're not so bright! Walk up to them, hold down the on/off key (it's y for me on xbox) and you get an option wheel. High is the default, but you can change it to medium or low.
I know it's a bit late, but from what I have read. The only difference in crop plots is what they can grow, not how much they can grow. So you're better off with small berries, medium for veggies a d large for plant species x/y/z. I could be wrong.
I made an amendment a while back which is pinned to comments. I usually build larger crop plots anyway for aesthetic purposes and in case I want to house plant species Z down the line :)
@@lennyadelaide4795you can remove the seed and it will come back if you don’t completely remove the crop, I think you can do that through the radial menu. I took one out by accident when I searched for the plant and then clicked remove all because the seed has the same name but it wouldn’t let me put the seed back because it was already fixing the problem.
I just want to iterate exactly how important the ghillie suit is... Don't even try without the suit because you will end up feeling defeated and it will take hours. trust fam!
100%! Something I forgot to add is the importance of wearing Ghillie whilst harvesting the honey from the hive (once domesticated) to avoid taking damage.

I seriously thought Cryo pods worked like pokeballs and at first I tried to use them to catch wild dinosaurs… especially after watching my BF play Pal World 🤦♀️ thanks for the reference lol that was amusing.

I always thought they produce a higher yield but you're right, it's the same as smaller plots, but the larger plots can house various plants that smaller ones can't. As for the composter, if you're just starting out in the game, this is the easiest way to get passive fertiliser production going until you tame a dung beetle (mentioned in the vid).

I started out putting berries in crop plots, and I understand why you have prioritised veg, just wondering if you think it is useful to set up narcoberries quite quickly to help with making narcotics in bulk, or is it just quicker to use a dino?

Honey is needed to make vegetable cake AND extraordinary kibble. Harvesting from a bee hive with a bear only gets you 15 honey, at most. Also it expires fairly quickly so it pays to have a good source nearby!

I heard you can play Ark with RTX, do you know anything about that? I was under the impression that there would be a setting on the game but it must be a mod or something. On the list of games with RTX, Ark was definitely on there though. I just came back to the game yesterday after a few years break.
What kind of graphics card do you have? I have an RTX 3080 and I'm able to launch Ark through steam with it using the graphics card if thats what you mean? You can also launch the GForce app on your PC and select ARK from within the app to launch the game.
Yeah it spoils stupidly quick, especially considering irl honey lasts for thousands of years supposedly! If you have learned the preserving salt engram from Scorched Earth, you can extend the timer on the honey, or popping it into a dinos inventory will extend it slightly too.
If you are on The Island, Citronal must been grown inside of crop plots from Citronal seeds that can be farmed from bushes. The only official map they can be found growing in the wild is Fjordur.
If you want to sink your foundations lower there is a few tricks you can try but here all I did was snap a foundation to another existing one which was holding the base wall up which makes the greenhouse foundations snap slightly lower in the ground. Snapping foundations to make the wall of my base required the use of clipping and using K mode to snap foundations underground.

If you're playing single player or running your own server make sure to have the 'clip structures' setting on. That will allow you to clip structures into each other and into the ground. If you hit 'K' on PC, it gives you a wider view which is really helpful for building. You can tilt your camera in certain instances allowing you to snap foundations underground, but it can be a bit fiddly.
I know this video is old but if you could help whenever i destroy the hive another one spawns inside and the queen bee is stuck in it and when i destroy the second hive it just dies
This is an issue with Ark Survival Evolved unfortunately, and one that is unlikely to be fixed since Wild Card are now focussing their attention on ASA. My only suggestion is to keep trying, it will take some time but an unglitched queen bee will appear eventually.
If you're just starting out and you have spawned in somewhere along the south beach, I would recommend heading to the small mountain at coordinates 75 47. Raptors and Dilos spawn here, but no Rex's :)

How rare is it to get a queen bee spawn i have cleared out the redwood forest two times and i still haven't found one im starting to think queen bees dont exist in ark 😭
They have become pretty rare sadly! It took me several hours of checking hives to find mine. If you're on single player or running your own server you could try a dino wipe (cheat destroywilddinos), which will also wipe the queen bees. This can be useful if you have exhausted all of the easy to reach hives.
@@MissVadams10 might be a bit late for the info but if you do a dino wipe also wipe the hives with "destroyall beehive_c 1" if not the empty beehives will just sit around the map never spawning an other queen. I suggest always wiping beehives if your gonna do a dinowipe as well

Just a quick tips if you use a ladder to place the crop plots they will always be straight and in the centre of the foundations.
How do you mean? Place a ladder on the greenhouse wall, grab onto it and place a plot while standing on the ladder?

If you throw honey out at the Leedsichthys AKA the boat destroying whale it will leave you alone for 20 seconds for a safe getaway.

Person ally, I think it's more efficient to use a Stego or Bronto for berry gathering compared with growing them

Well the bear I have does eat honey, but it's better used in making kibble, which is a Dino taming super food :)

This guide was done on the Island in single player so no Snow Owls sadly. They are my favourite dino in the whole game though!
Iv only found that there is no queen when you collect the honey first but might just be my luck
Luckily with the remastered version (ASA) this isn't an issue anymore. Bees even spawn outside the hive sometimes making it a lot easier to get one
