So this video took me almost a month if not more, thinking and writing and re-writing. It's a bit more reaching than I usually do, but my true passion when it comes to the Hoyoverse is finding connections. Even if those connections don't necessarily pan out to anything, I think that that is at its heart, what storytelling is about.

Can do, funny as it is I see forbidden knowledge as a in game parallel to blanket perception that exists in our world and how it can change and poison the views of a society it's amazing how it is a reflection of real world psychological societal affects and how we are drip fed information.
As a Genshin-only player, I'm not tired of hearing about Honkai. :) I love the lore of Genshin, but have no motivation to play two other games for the inter-universe nuance I know I'm missing. I'm very grateful that people who do deeply play all three games can translate some of the symbolism.
Dude me too. Valuka's channel has been SUCH a huge life saver for this problem. I know that learning about the other two games' lore is important for understanding the nuances of Genshin's lore, but I just KNOW that I would hate to try juggling all three games
I believe the actual Mobius we know may be connected to genshin lore. We don't know Mobius' actual fate. We know she got tired of her infinite cycles, but she states to Prometheus that she is going on an "adventure" While that may have been a statement made to not let Prometheus know that she wishes to die I believe it more likely that she simply changed her form. Could she really ever let go of her ambition to exists? Even with the will to do so implanted from the other Mobius? I don't believe she could. If anything its likely she exists as a separate entity that changed her cognition. Maybe she is the Ouroboros from the genshin lore or maybe she will only stay connected to honkai. Maybe hoyo just left it open ended to keep it as mysterious as Mobius would have wanted it!
As a Mobius main, I approve this whole agenda. 💯

Remember that The Traveller used the Light Element twice (on the Jade Chamber and in Plane of Euthymia) when all elements were present in close proximity. Maybe that Light Element really is the Imaginary type.
Ooh, if we equate the Honkai imaginary power with the Genshin "will" to rival a world (will = strong ambition or _imagination_ ) then maybe ALL the Descenders are wielders of Imaginary (or Quanta?)
And maybe this “darkness” element we saw that dainsleif and skirk use might be quantum

Enkanomiya is it's name, and yeah I'm so curious with it, with how firmly Hellenic Greek it is before joining Inazuma on the surface.
Esp now that we have the Roman influence from Remuria

The reason why foribidden knowledge seems to harm Teyvat itself, might be what yous said about microcosmos getting destroyed when something outside it enters and breaks its rules. Teyvat as a microcosmos gets damaged and is more likely to get distroyed if knowledge and power from beyond gets inside. And we might ask Why descenders can be there and not harm the world? I think it's because of their nature. Phanes, Nibelung (after getting access to and using the power of the abyss), the third descender "Purusha" (if we take into account the manga) and the traveler, have the enough power to not only use and undertand knowledge from beyond, but also they can change Teyvat and its rules. That's how Phanes made the Teyvat we now know.

I’m super stoked to watch this. I’m am glad you aren’t afraid to find the connects between the Hoyoverse. I know a lot of Genshin content creators refuse to try and connect the elements of the games because they refuse to believe that Teyvat is a leaf on the imaginary tree, meaning it’s subject to the rules of the tree and sea of quanta. Honestly I think that King Deseret’s Honkai expy was Otto Apocalypse. He definitely have massive Otto vibes. Also Kaveh being his descendant, with his blonde hair makes me extremely sus. 16:35 yeah when I fought the dude inside the whale I was like “oh hey we are in the sea of Quanta! And this guy look suspiciously like one of the anti-matter legion dudes from HSR.” I’ve noticed too that when the Traveler channels energy their attacks are imaginary colored. We saw this in the battle against the Sustainer, Liyue, and Inuzuma. The travelers seem to be a conduit for elements that covert that energy into imaginary energy. The abyss twin uses what looks to be quantum energy. I definitely think the abyss is the sea of the quanta, and that it’s closely linked to the Primodial sea. As far as forbidden knowledge, I find it seems like the Primodial one is trying to stop the Honkai from coming. We know that Honkai grow as civilization flourishes to challenge the world to see if the humans are ready to ascend. I feel like the Primodial one keeps resetting Teyvat in order to circumvent the rules of the imaginary tree and sea of Quanta. That would explain why the sea and tree are a microcosm in Teyvat that the Primodial one controls. Anyhow that’s my thought on why the Primodial one is against other worldly knowledge, because they have a deep knowledge of how the Hoyoverse works, and has created this world that tries to circumvent the rules, to act as a nursery for humans, to keep them from experiencing Honkai eruptions and to keep their leaf from being cut from the tree.
Not only that too, but it may also be possible to connect the Fragmentum to the Abyss/SoQ

IT IS!!! I feel silly for not noticing it earlier , knowledge from beyond is....literally an apocalypse. Like, etymologically. The greek root for apocalypse means 'revelation, disclosure' (of knowledge, one could say)
I have mixed emotions about this....I feel the same way I felt when I realized the Oratrice is Literally a deus ex machina. Like, in the most literal etymological sense of the phrase. But like, it's kinda also a dues ex machina in the plot device sense.

Yeah, even the Primordial Sea gets described as "Amniotic liquid" of Teyvat
I love how dumb people always confidently make statements they can't back up. In fact now that I think about it, childes lore tab literally said he fell into the abyss where he saw the narwhal. And we know for a fact the narwhal was in the primordial sea. So there's a piece of evidence saying they are in fact the same. What's your evidence against? Can you come up with a single shred of evidence to back up what you do confidently claimed? Do you know what that makes you, if you're unable to?

The Primordial Sea is effectively the hydro dragons blood.
And dragons are beings of the light realm which is/was supposedly antipode of the void ream. Due to the distorted, unnatural nature of the current human realm, that might now be one in the same or idk. 🤔
@@F1ll1nTh3BlanksNo. The Light realm is still the opposite of the Abyssal Void Realm and dragons and other purely elemental creatures, as well as humans, are still dying from the opposite Abyssal Void Realm nature, it's just that after PO created the Human Realm based on the Light Realm, now there is a Human realm between Light and Abyss Realms, where Abyss is on top and light realm is on the bottom, and in the middle the human realm.
Maybe Teyvat is not where the trunk and branches of the world tree are, but in the roots? That blue tree seems more like a root. This is why there are many references to snakes and dragons, because of that one which is eating igdrasil roots
IMG tree is not based on Yggdrasil. Let me make it clear, the IMG tree is a visual interpretation of the universe. Its not a real tree
My understanding of forbidden knowledge is that it's like a different code that the hardware can't run.
The information itself isn't bad it's just going to corrupt the rest of the computer.
The primordial one may have created the human realm to how's the new information.
That could also be why high amounts of elemental energy and a abyssal energy is so toxic to humans, like forbidden knowledge it's the wrong code for humans.

This might just be my sleep deprived and caffeine fueled brain making connections that don't exist(or are irrelevant), but after being reminded about the Elysian realm and the signets of the Flame-chasers, I realized that the Aeons function almost identically to them. They are being that are exceedingly stronger than basically everything else, they grant powers that are represented via a specific path/signet based on ones personality, even some of the Aeons are described similarly to some of the Flame-chasers, such as Nanook (Aeon of Destruction) and Kalpas (Signet of Decimation) both being described as insane, both having a want to destroy everything around them, and even some of their design choices are similar to each others such as the flames that surround them, and the glowing cracks and marks on their bodies. Another Aeon that seems very similar to a Flame-chaser is the Aeon of beauty (Idrila) and Elysia, where both are described as seeing beauty in everything around them, and driving others to achieve said beauty. However with that aside looking through parts of the Elysian realm lore makes me wonder not only what truly happened to Mobius, but also what happened to the Herrscher core of the Herrscher of Corruption.
Kiana has the core of the Herrscher of Corruption, when Mei used Elysia's authority of origin, which is basically being able to grant any wish(And somehow able to make Herrschers evolve), pulled all of the Herrscher Cores into Kiana so she could become the Herrscher of finality.
Aeons are vastly different. Paths are basically aggregations of two or more concepts and these aeons completely take over these paths essentially becoming the path's brain
As a Honkai player since launch it's nice to see a Genshin theorist take the larger honkaiverse into account.

Firstly, it does not say that the power returns to the Archons, it says that the *gods* receive power after the Vision Owner fulfills his ambition, which is obvious considering that it was created to heal wounds of Heavenly Principles after the war of vengeance.
And secondly, the human realm stands on the light realm in which there are dragons / vishaps and purely elemental entities from, literally the whole Enconomia speaks about this with their Vishaps who live there and who can die from the abyss and where said that the light realm has fallen under the dominion of humanity. The abyss is on top of the human realm, a lot of things indicate this, but I can only remember that we climb to the top when we plunge into the abyss, that the abyss breaks out of the sky in Sumeru, and that if the human realm stands on the light realm, then the Abyssal Void realm is on top.
Well I didn’t know the enkanomiya lore was based on the Delphi oracle. Just something else to support your theory: Apollon and Dionysus kinda represent order and chaos. Both are linked to divination and whenever one was away the other was present to guide de priestesses.
Taking only this piece of information and disregarding the lore i was just too lazy to read it wouldn’t be a surprise if the fate of Teyvat is to repeat what happened in Enkanomiya
So actually, the abyss is quantum energy and the celestial or light energy is very likely imaginary energy. The abyss has been shown multiple times to have the quantum symbol. And celestial energy is what directly counters the abyssal energy.
Quantum isn't necessarily supposed to oppose Imaginary or vice versa. Those two things make up the universe

I don't know if you got to catch the older captainverse events of honkai that recently received a finale and an epilogue but I think a lore enthusiast might find things that both prove and disprove your theories. So... ether anchors in HSR, the lightcone level up material... Are also what they call the things that stabilize the existence of a bubble universe in the sea of quanta that keep it from completely disappearing.... A lot of the important events in that series involve one party taking worlds' ether anchors and using them in various ways in the finale and another going through the sea of quanta to seek answers. Just uh... because some of them were mere tests of later game mechanics and suffered from "early game honkai syndrome" they weren't that good compared to where they are now, but Sanka Saga, Arc City, The Day You Vanished with the Stars are among the most mentioned but I think if you searched enough you'd find a ton of interesting lore and some community efforts to try and archive it since until The day you vanished with the stars got a rerun most people were under the impression that mihoyo doesn't rerun events

Not to be like a downer on the Genshin lore analysts. But. All of the Honkai related games exist as bubble universes on the Imaginary tree so to speak. It is how we have Welt Yang (CEO's self insert) helping this not dead Himeko he discovered and Raiden Mei (confirmed) in HSR and why Genshin is vaguely similar with some correlations and allowed crossover with HI3 (Fischl). So the main old Hoyo games (aka Honkai and its predecessors) are all on like one main branch, Genshin and (maybe ZZZ) are on the other side of the tree. But still on it. Main concepts and ideas will be shared across all games because they're all on the tree.
I think its being thought about a bit too hard concerning the Honkai events existing or not in Genshin. They're there. There's several instances in Genshin that sound incredibly similar to the Honkai tests and you can make the argument that the Stellaron disasters on different planets in HSR are Honkai events. Additionally, if its a sea where life begins, that's gonna be the Quanta. There's not much more to it. Its like how the Great Flood irl is found in multiple religions and regions. Not just the Christian Bible. They're referencing the same event.
Around 37:00 the introduction of Kevin through means of Su had me HOWLING Omg. They are so Like That. I'm only halfway through Honkai 3rd and still! The amount of fundamental lore you get is unbelievable! So much stuff that just didn't occur to me, the moment you say it, I'm like yep, yep, checks out.

This is a wonderful video and as a Genshin and Star Rail player I now feel like playing Honkai impact 3rd.... though the idea of keeping up with all those game's events and updates makes me not want to do so.
If you can do it, please do as the story of Honkai Impact 3rd is very much worth it! However, due to Hi3 being old, the beginning chapters are rather slow, so if you do play please don't drop it due to the beginning chapters!

While we still don't have much information on them yet, the segment about Forbidden Knowledge led me to think of Star Rail's Stellarons. The so called "Cancer of All Worlds" that corrupts space, alters environments, influences people and offers power. All of these effects sound similar to what we've seen Forbidden Knowledge is capable of. I am not convinced that the Stellarons are actually connected to Nanook/Destruction. So I am wondering if they is some manifestation of some other metaphysical function of the Greater Honkai Universe? Stellarons are Imaginar colored. Perhaps they are a kind of more concentrated analogue to Abyssal colored gunk we see in places like the Chasm?
So I think the "Forbidden" part of Forbidden Knowledge is that it disrupts the function of Teyvat's structure. Something more akin to code meant for another system that ends up bricking your computer?
I don't know if any of this tracks, but they're just some initial thoughts I've had comparing and contrasting the narrative devices and shared world structure of the sibling titles.

You mentionned HSR, and it's fascinating because if you draw a timeline and HI3 is the predating one, then Genshin is what came after as an attempt to protect humanity from the gase of the will of Honkai, then HSR is a whole universe that seems to be full of planets that are in different levels of developpemnt and some are more advanced to some that are actively affected by "stallarons". The thing that ckicked for me is that in that one, there had been an Aeon called Qlipoth that had been found for undocumented time seeking to "Build a wall" around the foreseeable galaxy and it's unkown for what purpose it does so more than a very subtle "protecting us form a threat comming form outside"

One thing I find confusing though.
If the human realm is born from the eternal conflict between the light realm and the Abyss. Then Neuvillette being the heart of the primordial makes it impossible for the Primordial sea to be related to the sea of Quanta if that one is represented with the Abyss, since dragons belong to the light realm and otherwhise all humans would be susceptible to the effects of the Primordial sea.
SoQ is not a real sea so that may not be true but the primordial sea may contain vast amounts of ether

How can you not understand the concept of knowledge being a forbidden or detrimental thing? We have the obvious reference of Christian original sin. In Buddhism we have the concept of attachment -- a learned belief -- as the root of all suffering. In modern psychology we know that trauma is something that is both learned and self harming, and that dwelling on trauma perpetuates that drama with the human brain treating the recollection of trauma almost identically as experiencing it for the first time. And in physiology we know things like allergic histamine responses are things your body learns that can be harmful or even deadly. Learning the wrong things can lead to wrong responses, wrong takes, wrong actions, suffering, etc. And this is not just metaphor, but real and tangible. Remember that "knowledge" does not necessarily ever equate with "truth."

Past he changed past and how time travel works you cant go back in time but you can create alternative timeline that branches off. What Maakoto did might have been just creating 2 Teyvat timelines
Kinda, but also, not really. What Makoto did was get the help of Istaroth to make a seed and put it a realm (which seems to be her version of the Realm of Euthymia) that is 'disconected' from time in Teyvat so that Ei could learn her lesson and plant the seed in said realm in the future, which ended up making it so the seed was actually planted in the distant past, right after Makoto died which in turn is what caused the Sacred Sakura to be planted in the future. Her case was more of a Paradox.
What Otto and Wanderer did was different from Makoto.
They came into contact with an already existing World Tree that is connected to their entire world and its memories, in an effort to give a second chance to someone (In Wanderer's case it was everyone that was harmed because of him.) by changing events of the past so that the people could have a future. And by conscequence, getting themselves killed/erased from the universe. Otto managed to succeed and managed to create a world/timeline in which Kallen would live, while Wanderer failed because Irminsul, while very similar to the Imaginary Tree, works differently with its own rules.

Shes not? Her outfit is meant to present the goddess of flowers because she plays her in a dance play of the Sabzeruz Festival but shes not her.

@@Sacration Nwm, I just checked and it turns out both Kaveh and Nilou have symbolism related to the goddess which puts a dent in the reincarnation theory.
People dismiss Nilou as "cosplaying" but that's just it, isn't it? The representation of the goddess is Nilou even if it's just an outfit. Not to mention that she dances like the goddess, has lotus symbolism like the goddess, is associated with water like the goddess, and has a very warm relationship with Nahida like the goddess. And a connection to Alhaitham who is said to be Deshret.
Yes, Kaveh likewise has a connection to Haitham and certain hints may point in his direction but he's definitely not the only one. And while I'm not quite sure about the rules of reincarnation in Teyvat did we ever see/suspect that someone reincarnated as the opposite sex from what they were (not counting Kaveh)?
here is a maybe crazy question... could it be that Teyvat... is literally in a root of the imaginary tree? It would explain the over-all light tipped balance as well as frequent incursions of darkness
I think this is the coolest idea anybody has had with regard to this particular theory, period. LOVE this idea actually.
@@projectvaluka If this is right, it would make teyvat... a clearing house. Quanta is periodically sucked in, it's energy annihilates, and its neutrients fed into the world tree (perhaps something to do with the spikes celestia rains down on any visible abyss incursions)
@@projectvaluka i have one more piece of evidence for this. The roots of irminsul, seem to grow out of the ground and into Teyvat for some reason, in places closely related to past and present abyss incursions: dragonspine, the chasm, tsurumi, mt. Damavand
The imaginary tree is not a real thing. It's only a theory proposed by Otto and Zandar. Tevyat is one of the worlds in the universe that is represented by the IMG tree.

Forbidden knowledge is a virus in to the Tayvat program. Also Katheryn and Nadia's interactions are super sus. Nadia can only move through dreams at that point. If Katheryn is an Android does that mean that she dreams or maybe runs on the energy that can be harvested from dreams?
Katerina is a *biological* puppet from Snezhnaya. But the reason why Nahida can control Katerina's body is because Akasha allowed her to control the bodies of everyone connected to Akasha, but Nahida did not want to use the bodies of her residents and therefore used a puppet, this was literally stated in the most direct text in the Archon quest.

Hm. I don't think so... but if you're going to grab a duality from GI and slap it into a HI3 box then why pick Pneuma / Ousia when Celestia / Abyss is right there? Pneuma/Ousia isn't even present anywhere but Fontaine so it absolutely cannot fit the bill. Such a powerful duality as you're looking for would HAVE to have been built up before the 5th nation. Aside from which Pneuma / Ousia seem to map to Celestia / Abyss anyway.
It doesn't feel like the ideas present have enough precision to be judged right or wrong exactly. Which is bad of course. For example is the Primordial Sea aligned with pneuma or ousia? And if the Abyss is aligned with Ousia, and therefore Celestia with Pneuma, then why do you think the Abyss was always there even before the PO? it would make more sense for them both to be external to Teyvat naturally. Again why didn't the PO arrive and immediately attack the Abyss with Nails long before the 2nd throne came if the 2nd throne isn't the Abyss? If the PO is so opposed to abyss why leave something so dangerous lying about if you could defeat it, drive it off or seal it outside?
Also the Abyss is evil and the Sea of Quanta isn't.
Pneuma/Ousia is never really said to be only in Fontaine; It may just be that Fontaine is the only nation so far to make use of it.
Theories don't have to be 'right' or 'wrong'. That's why it's a theory.
The Abyss is not evil, nor is Celestia good.

Celetia protect its creation, people and life by all means even if its means nuking civilisations (who where wildly affected by something extremely dangerous) or stoping Khaenri'ha (gold playing with with Abyssal forces, creating monsters, its regent pierving a whole in the axis mundi etc)
The Abyss (Quanta) is just a force that seeks balance just like the Honkai thats why its toxic to creatures and things related to the Light realm aka (Imaginary). Its 2 opposing forces. Nothing is black or white.
Abyss also isn’t evil in itself, it’s mainly the abyss order that portrays abyss as bad tho… At least that’s how I see it😅
