Delicious in Dungeon, Dangers in my Heart and Ishura are certainly up there for me
I also highly recommend trying out 7th Time Loop. It's really good. Especially if you like female protagonists like Maomao who are smart and have a fun personality. It's also a very well-made adaptation of the light novel series of the same name. The animation, music, and voice acting are also good. It has a good balance between drama, a bit of comedy, and romance. It's beautiful, filled with intrigue, and makes me wonder how it will all end up. The way the characters interact is very natural and is not forced at all. Everyone has their own deep personality. Especially with the 2 MC, both of them have very good and interesting dynamic going on.
I will try these rn I just caught up to 100 girlfriends and apothecary so I need something new. I honestly forgot about most of this season completely so I watched old anime from my watchlist. So finally watched death parade after years sitting on my watchlist

6:30 For context, Gigguk said that episode 12 or 13 had just come out. They were talking about Frieren being ranked #1 on MAL, and how it was too soon to make that kind of judgment. And yes, Gigguk said he expected JJK2 to be the best show of that season.

I don't watch trash taste cause imo they aren't all that enjoyable. I just recently saw a video clip from gigguk saying he would have put frieren as number 1 instead of 2 on his anime of the year list and I think its because he wasn't fully caught up on a lot of it and it literally impacted him in his own life so its funny to see the guy talking shit about it and now he is saying its one of the greatest anime ever

@@MagiaBasedYeah I didn't notice at first, but they really do. Compared to mother's basement, Gigguk's analysis (as presented) is pretty shallow most of the time, especially here. The video is good because of the clips, editing, and script/way of speaking. TrashTaste are great at putting out content that does well, but it's rarely deep insight. I know they can make the good shit tho, I've seen it here & there. Probably the hustle of putting out vids regularly for money comes before artistic considerations. Understandable when you got a family to feed.
Here's the entire video's points boiled down:
The pacing benefits from being about the journey, appreciating the little moments& others. Frieren is better kuudere b/c she's emotionally distant, not emotionless. The romance is good because they laid groundwork for it, had chemistry, and used facial expressions in dance scene that conveyed a lot without 2pgs internal dialogue or being live-action or 3D. The lessons about valuing moments with others are timely given the loneliness epidemic.
i don't think this is supposed to be an indepth analysis, its more just putting his thoughts about a show out there and giving brief explanition why he likes it, which has the advantage that even if u didn't watch the show there are barely, if any spoilers. overall its just a completly different video format compared to an MB indepth review/analysis so juding it against that seems kinda pointless.
if this type of content isn't your cup of tea thats fine but making sweeping overall statements about the quality is kinda meh@@organizerbmo
Gigguk was talking about Frieren on trash taste, but those episodes are filmed a month or more before they actually come out.
true but that was still middle of the season. It was likely filmed just before the Sein stuff.
@@FreshestAnime yeah, it took Gigguk until episode 16 before he really fell in love with the series. He talked about it on a live stream how he watched the episode with Old Voll and decided to forget trying to keep up with filming episodes and just spend time with his parents. That's when he completely got what the series was about.

After such a long time finally the MADHOUSE company managed somehow to improve their image in the market this anime really is fantastic can't wait when the 2nd season will come out hope the same company keep it better
Doesn’t even need to be better, just same quality is more than enough to crown Frieren as there best anime in recent years
Cause if season 2 also has 24 episodes, it will be able to cover the best arc in the manga, and that arc is literally a flawless masterpiece

That episode of Trash taste, they discuss how and why Frieren is no.1 on MAL for months now. And they are arguing there if it is deserved. And Gigguk said that clip there.
To be fair, Frieren is airing same season with Vinland Saga so he believed that Vinland saga is the best that season and Frieren is 2nd best for him.
They also called Frieren, "If side quest become an anime". 😂😂
@@erwindavid2859 vinland saga aired in winter season last year. Frieren was airing at the same time as jjk Shibuya arc and maybe that at time only 11 or 12 ep was out and he used to think that jjk was best anime of the season that's why he thinks his opinion was trash at that time.

I started watching it yesterday. The end of episode 2 made me cry like a baby. Also it reminds me why i love playing mage in video games. Especially FFXIV with it's award winning...(please complete the meme yourself). I spent over 1200 hours in the free trial alone bringing almost all jobs to level 60, including 8! different magic jobs. All on the same character. Best anime ever.(according to myanimelist) 😁

Well... Gigguk's main channel content isn't reaction content, so reaction to a reaction is hyperbole. Loads of people react to RUclips videos though. Sure you can say I want to "feed off Gigguk's fame." He has a large fanbase of anime fans, some of which may have never heard of me. By reacting to a Gigguk video, those fans are then introduced to my content and if they like my reaction maybe they subscribe, if they don't like it, they don't subscribe... and then probably dislike the video and never watch again, which is fine. At the end of the day it's not like I'm turning people against Gigguk or "stealing his audience." I'm simply expanding a community of fans that like the stuff I like and in this case also like a creator that i like. People have more than enough to watch his videos and any of my videos that might interest them. When Gigguk puts out a tweet or something saying he doesn't want people reacting to his videos, I promise I'll be the first to stop doing it, but until then, I really don't understand the harm.
Speaking of pacing and things feeling like filler, to me, Frieren has the right idea of literally skipping the chunks of time that nothing interesting might actually take place during. Not to mention, the arrangement of its episodes don’t feel like a drag because it’s almost like, because some cover at least two incidents in one, it actually feels like you get bonus content or even a second episode without having to wait. I heard people who like to watch training arcs, but in most cases, I find them to be a waste of time to actually if it’s literally just repeating the exact same things again and again until there’s some kind of breakthrough. To me, what makes a training arc worthwhile to actually watch is if it shows a montage of the repetitive stuff and instead focuses on growth in other aspects, like relationships or something, but I do understand why plenty of anime would do so, especially if they’re trying to follow the story from a different source material. Basically, what I’m saying is that even something that seems like it’s filler can work well if there’s actually something interesting going on, and Frieren might have that down, given that I’ve never read its manga or light novel if it has one.

The thing I love about Frieren anime is the very first half episodes when Frieren having journey with Himmel, Heiter and Eisen but it doesn't last long until she lost 2 of her friends and how emotional it was. Then as the story progress with Fern and Stark it wasn't as interesting as the first half episodes with Himmel, Eisen and Heiter. The only thing keep me watching when Frieren and Fern join first rate sorcerer test as introduce new characters like Denken, Richter, Lawinne and Kanne that makes the shows to me has up and down for some episodes.

TL;DR - I was watching Frieren because I was invested in her emotional maturity, but the exam arc has failed to keep me interested as I feel it's just there to make Frieren look OP.
I've almost dropped the show because of the exam arc. I just can't get into it. All the other stops felt natural, and leading into this arc felt the same. But when the train got delayed and the FIRST PART of the exam overstayed its welcome, I just became uninterested. Same thing happened when I first read the manga around the time Gigguk made his first video. That part should have been condensed because it just didn't work. For a show that had so much control over its pacing, I felt this arc just completely forgot about that. The other stops made sense to me because it felt like Frieren was growing in some way, but that never happened in this arc. The reason I watched Frieren, to see her grow as she makes her way to Heaven, was completely lost in the exam arc. All it does is show her power, which I don't care about.
Don't worry, all of this is setup for all of their growth and further progression into the more dangerous north.
First half = intro to Frieren, demons, emotional maturity, can't pass to North because uncertified so the show sets up exam arc (an obstacle to her journey)
Second half = understanding magic system, showing how OP Frieren is, setting up to the other future fantastic arcs because of new mage characters encountered in exam arc

While this arc does showcase a glimpse of Frieren’s true might, I disagree that this arc doesn’t fit the anime. Because this arc really expands on things like Frieren’s mana system, Frieren’s bond with Fern, Flamme’s character and introduces Serie. It also introduces very key characters going into future arcs like Denken and Edel. And despite the action sequences being a huge focus, it never loses the charm of the anime as its very unique in the way it shows the interaction between these mages who have their own unique personalities which the show does justice in exploring.
@@AnuUprety-w7eAnd that stuff isn't why I watched the first 18 episodes. Do those characters actually matter in the future? I think I got somewhere around chapter 60-70 when I stopped reading the manga, and like I said I remember nothing after the exam arc. It just got boring and stopped doing what I got into the series for. Something like this has happened to me before with Mushoku Tensei, but after I gave it a second chance, I ended up reading the books and it became one of my favorite pieces of fiction. I'll probably come back to it sometime in the future.
