I just got my first house this year, this video explained alot, i wanted that perfect fit and wonderd how some people have it I tried some lights recently from Walmart and saw some were too long and too short so I gave up till I saw this. I’m a big DIYer so I cant wait to try this out! Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to post this video and share your tips and tricks with us. Learned a lot as to why commercial lights are very expensive and worth the extra money. Also, the tips on how to hang lights and use the clips was very helpful. You gain a new subscriber. Thank you.
Dude! I have always wanted to put Christmas lights up, but always thought it would be such a pain in the ass, that I never even attempted anything other than my front porch railing. Your video has given me all the tools and tips I needed to give it the old Griswold go this year. Thanks a million! This video is now in my top 3 of all time. So happy this popped up in my feed. Happy Holidays.
One of the best things I ever did was when I changed of from incandescent to LEDs, I took all the light bulbs off the old sets and now I have jumpers from 5 feet to say 10 feet long that I plug in between light sets where I want a blank space. Say between 2 windows, or a door way, between 2 trees/bushes. I have probably 30 of them and use most of them every year. Nice thing about them, since they came from Incandescent light sets, the diameter of the wire is greater, so no need to worry about too many lights sets connected together.
So *that's* how you use those clips! And the trick with the electrical tape so you don't have those just-hanging-in-a-weird-spot bulbs is very clever. Too late for this year, but our house is gonna look great in 2022. Many thanks!
We have traditionally had the worst lights on the block. But this year I've stepped it up and this video was super helpful. As a novice, I would love to know more, do you start with the male or female and how to connect to other decorations around the door etc, lights on the bushes in front too!
Wish I had seen this before hanging original set of lights! Very informational & fairly easy for this senior citizen to understand! Unsure as I’ve finished & have to female ends together- doesn’t seem like a way to plug in extension chord ! Help!
SPT-1 is easier to work with (easier to put he male and female connectors on the end) SPT-2 is thicker and therefore a little more durable. Its a rabbit hole on if SPT-2 can handle more current, for LED you fine with SPT-1. Most companies and people use SPT-1
I have a string of LED lights, half of the bolbs are bright, and the other is week. I can't figure it out. Do you have any idea what it could be? I notice on one string that is older than the other that it has fuses. The other don't.
Doing our custom lights this year for the first time. Tired of this messy look when buying light strands from the store. Going to order a c9 spool. Do you think 6” spacing will not be good? Seen a few say 12” is the magic number but I kinda want it to be bright. Will be using led bulbs also.
I think if you want things to look brighter, 6" spacing sounds like a good idea! It's really up to what you think looks good. Give it a test try and see what you think!
So I got a question about the cheaper lights you can’t use the vampire plugs on those correct? Is there an alternative to having the line extension cord extended? Because I got to make a few jumps on it house using cheaper lights that the customer has provided.
The loops of extension chord you showed, why do you do that? Seems smart. Same length, can attach however many you need and easy to save the like for use until the future
We store our extension cords that way to prevent tangling and to be able to quickly get large cords un-stored. Another tip is roll you Christmas lights into a ball with female connector in middle and male at end. If you store lights this way they don't get tangled.
@@waltsreviews90 Gotcha. Do you sell the lights back to the customer for a discount the next year as you've already got lights measured to their house?
I prefer the non-perfect lines and just hang mine on good old fashion hooks. I don’t know, I just don’t like the look of houses that use the holders you used. Have fun!
that sick aquarium with the Dory fish thoooo!

Love it. Subscribed
Great video
Thanks!
I prefer the C7/C9 incandescent twinkle lights.
Nice reef!
How did you get lights on those high hard to reach spots?
Thanks for the video. Do professionals rent out there lights or sell the lights and hanging service as a package?
No problem. Yup, and the lights are stored for clients off season so they don't have to hassle with anything.
@@waltsreviews90 wait so what's the process?

how do you install lights to brick if you wanted to go vertically up the side of the house to say the soffit area? Thanks
Are use a staple gun underneath the facia clean all straight
Great video! This is really helpful thanks
How do you install lights around windows and garages that are not brick but have vinyl siding?
what can i put for stucco? nails?

Where did you get that kind of christmas light?
We have a local store we go to, but Home Depot sells very similar lights as well as clips.
if you install those C9 bulbs face up, rain water will get inside the socket and cause corrosion and trip your GFCI.
With the commercial grade wire, what is the longest run(total amount of bulbs) that could be powered from a single 15amp breaker?
depends on type of bulb you using. LEDs are low wattage, 1500 watts for a 15 amp breaker
I'm just watching cause of the saltwater aquarium.. Did we just became best friends?
Lol, glad someone noticed!
Plz share how to put light on bricks
Can't do this method if you have metal gutter guards, leaf filters etc.
If you have that I would suggest sliding the clips under the shingles of the roof. May depend on gutter guard, but some have enough room to do this.
The pros are mad asf at you!
You should learn about electricity he says then says pulls electricity out. LOL
do you let your customers keep the lights at the end of the season? do you take them down for them too?
If they want to, but seeing as we take them down and put them up, it's easier for most people to just let us deal with it. That's part of our appeal.
