This game truly means the world to me. This was my very first PS2 game and I just played the ever living heck out of it. The roster, the gameplay, the time period, it was all an amazing time to be a wrestling fan, and after all these years later, this one definitely still holds up. Forever a classic.😁

As a fan of both '06 and '07 I have to say '06 just edges it bc of the hctp like physics plus the fact that backstage brawls were more fun. '07 was still elite though

14:56 there’s actually an alternative ending where you yourself is the one that ran over Teddy. You would have to turn and stay heel for that. Another reason why this game is so good and ahead of its time (even for today) is the multiple plots and detailed storylines

I think that's the main storyline for that. Every character I played ended up being the one to run over Teddy. Probably changes if you use Cena or RVD though.

2006 raw vs smackdown and halo 2 was freaking great. The story mode was better than the product.

Such a legendary game. The many many hours i spent as a kid playing this and 07. In truth ive played them all but 06 and 07 were in a league completely on their own with how good they were.
This was my most favorite SVR in the series. Waiting by Not Forgotten will always be inside my heart.

YES! It was the best (or at least one of the best). For sure. I remember when I first saw gameplay of this game in 2012 on RUclips, I instantly wanted a PS2 to play it. SVR 2006 is a one-in-a-lifetime type of game. Easily the GOAT SmackDown! Vs Raw title. Hands down! SVR 2011 and 2007 are right behind it, though.

The Smackdown vs Raw games were amazing! The first one came out in 2005. The SVR games were amazing from 2005 to 2010.
To me it was the G.O.A.T in the Smackdown VS Raw series it was the high point. Now I know some people say Here Come The Pain is the G.O.A.T to me I'm not a huge fan of Here Come The Pain but I respect the game. But Smackdown VS Raw 2006 is my favorite and my go-to

Smackdown vs Raw 2006 is one of my favorite Smackdown vs Raw games. Also love the 2010 and 2011 ones as well. Although the first Smackdown vs Raw game has the best soundtrack of the bunch.

This is the best svr game overall. I understand why people prefer 2007, but I think this game has better gameplay and the AI is harder, which makes for longer matches.
2006 was the game that changed everything for me
I remember buying this game when it was released after having played the original "Smackdown vs Raw" for about a year up to that point. I absolutely hated it and returned it to the store the very next day. For the life of me though, I couldn't remember why I hated it so much when I first clicked on this video. As soon as it started showing gameplay footage though, that same revulsion that struck me immediately all those years ago came flooding back. It was the camera, specifically how zoomed in it was. I couldn't stand it. It made me feel nauseous and I couldn't properly see what was going on in matches.

I'll keep saying this. 2005 was peak in gaming. My only regret was not to get the PlayStation 2 that year though I did get in 2006. The games were incredible. Need For Speed Most Wanted, God of War 1, Gran Turismo 4, Midnight Club 3 Dub Edition, Dead or Alive 4, Soul Calibur 3, Black, Area 51, FEAR, True Crime, Tekken 5, Call of Duty 2 and Smackdown vs Raw 2006. Honourable mention Fifa 06. I remember playing Smackdown vs Raw 2006 and I had fun. Good time to be a gamer that year. 2004 was great but 2005 was something else.

SvR 2006 eerily foreshadowed the death of Eddie Guerrero with the latter getting shoved in a grave during a Buried Alive match during a Season Mode story where Eddie controls Undertaker by stealing his urn.
Also, SvR 2006 is notable for Muhammad Hassan’s sole WWE video game appearance and it’s pretty weird that he and Daivari were the tag team champs despite neither dude getting any titles during their time together or separately albeit Hassan was primed for a World title run but the London bombings scrapped everything, including Muhammad Hassan’s existence in the WWE.

Nostalgia often makes ppl choose certain things but from svr-svr 2009 I would say 2007 was the best of those years my all time fav is svr 2011
Possum pins were nightmare as yourself but playing as Kurt angle helped due to his ability to reverse every move. If you want to kick out the possum pin, play against Eddie Guerrero because he does it frequently and that you will win the challenge.
To this day. If I could fuse Svr 06, 07 and HCTP, it would be a dream come true.
This game was fun and challenging too on legend difficulty but 07 and here comes the pain we’re my favorite game but 06 definitely is up there as well

Here Comes The Pain will always be my favorite. Out of the SvR series though, 2007 will always be the best one for me. The story mode was great, repetitive but great and you had a few different directions you could go. The Candice Michelle Storyline. Deadman vs Deadman storyline (IFYKYK 🤷). Stephanie McMahon and Kurt Angle storyline. It was dope. I replay it every few years along with WWF 2000 and HCTP of course.

If you play steel cage match in Wrestlemania IX arena the cage is automatically changed to blue.
Randy Orton might as well have been a random unknown. It's not like I was playing as that loser anyway.
2006 is the best. It was the first with GM mode and I and my brother loved the game.
Played HCTP years later too and it was awesome too, but nothing comes close to it.
2K22/2K23 GMs mode is not quite as good as it was back in 06/07/08

The only SVR games I owned were SVR 06, SVR 08, SVR 09, SVR 10, and SVR 11. The reason I didn’t get SVR 05 was because I was still to new to WWE at the time and didn’t know about the games. I guess I forgot to ask my parents to get me SVR 07 for Christmas.

Been playing the series again(currently playing 06) and HCTP is the most fun with the best season mode, prefer it over SVR and 06. SVR is the worst because of the mini games and opponents getting straight up after most moves. SVR06 is closer to HCTP in gameplay and almost as fun plus a better roster.
07 is better....but imo 08 was cooler because of some of the stuff they added but the story wasn't as good as 06 or 07

The reason why you couldn't win GM mode is because the computer cheats. Their wrestlers never get injured, no matter how many crazy match types they put them through.
Also, I'm sure it gives itself higher overall show ratings than it should. I've put on shows where most of the matches were at least 4 stars, and then the computer will put on a show that only has one 4 star match and a bunch of 2 star matches and somehow we both end up with the same overall show rating. Highly suspect.

Nah, the Ultimate Control sucked, half the stories in SVR 2007 weren't that great (although that also applies to 06's RAW Season Mode) and the 07 Season Mode lacks replayability due to them making you play both the RAW and SmackDown Brand in the same Season instead of making two different Season Modes. Plus SVR 2006's Season Mode had Multiple Different Endings where SVR 2007 ends with different versions of the same Cutscene with you celebrating with a Diva (IF your Season happens to End at WrestleMania, if not, it has no ending it just ends)
2007 GM Mode could be arguably better but it doesn't even let you give whoever you want Title shots. "They have to be a contender" bs. That should be up for US, the GM to decide who deserves a title shot. If the Wrestlers think they deserve a title shot they can message the GM and if they don't get that then its your problem to deal with.
I don't think SVR 2007 is a Bad Game by any means. In fact I think it's great. There's many things it did that I do really appreciate like Money In The Bank Ladder Matches and also giving the players more motive to win matches in Season Mode (although you can still just win the Rumble the same way you do in SVR 2006), but I still think 2006 is the Better Game. Although it is personal preference.

So, this is NOT a troll comment. Literally, in 2023, I am getting this game for Christmas and I'm super excited. Back in the day I only had the psp version and I never played storymode. So love the timely video getting me even more hyped!
