I lost my mom at the end of July. We had the cantor sing this at her funeral, Mom loved this hymn. Came here tonight to find some comfort in this hymn. Heading into the holiday season, and it is tough without her. I know that you lost your dad. May God bless and be with all of you, Chris!
I sang this to my Dad as he was dying (CANCER). He had stroked out so his left side was useless. All the words about running free, I could see my Dad (only 68 yrs) in Heaven w/ God. I know David Haas is under suspicion, but it can't take away from this song. I love you and you are mine.
Very well said. Condolences, may your Dad rest peacefully in heaven. This song is indeed very beautiful. As children of God we should learn to forgive. God bless! ✝
Chris,I woke this morning hearing this song in my heart after prayer. Now that I’m in choir Jesus speaks to me through song. There’s nothing better than being told” I love you and you are mine”.
Hands down the best version of this song. Thank you so much- this song got me through a bid in prison. Prison is a very dark place, but I’d sing this song to myself and I felt the presence of Christ. May God bless you! +JMJ+
I will come to you in the silence I will lift you from all your fear You will hear My voice I claim you as My choice Be still, and know I am near I am hope for all who are hopeless I am eyes for all who long to see In the shadows of the night, I will be your light Come and rest in Me Do not be afraid, I am with you I have called you each by name Come and follow Me I will bring you home I love you and you are mine I am strength for all the despairing Healing for the ones who dwell in shame All the blind will see, the lame will all run free And all will know My name Do not be afraid, I am with you I have called you each by name Come and follow Me I will bring you home I love you and you are mine I am the Word that leads all to freedom I am the peace the world cannot give I will call your name, embracing all your pain Stand up, now, walk, and live Do not be afraid, I am with you I have called you each by name Come and follow Me I will bring you home I love you and you are mine
Thank you for sharing the beautiful voice God gave you. You have an amazing talent and I appreciate you for letting me hear it! May God continue to bless your life with His many wonders and blessings!!! 🕊
I played professionally and this was one of my faves around 1992 to this day. I played it on piano here to accompany your excellent work! Thank you for this boost on a Sunday evening from Cleveland, Ohio.
Best church song of all time! The kind that gives you chills and shed a tear every time it’s played during mass. Also my 3 yr old is obsessed with this song it’s his bedtime routine, he won’t let me sing anything else to him:) Beautiful voice & version of this song, well done👍👏 perfect speed, just love it!! God bless!
God be praised and thanked through this heart consoling song. Thanks ever so much Chris for reminding us that we are loved and belong to Christ. God keep you all safe in His care.
So beautiful, Chris. Your voice and your guitar complement each other. You are an inspiration. A big hello from the UK. Godbless you, your family and your parish.
I was asked to lead this song next Sunday at my church. I'd never heard it before, so I went to RUclips hoping to find an acoustic guitar arrangement, and there you are! Thank you for posting such a beautiful and heartfelt rendition (hope you don't mind my emulating your arrangement) :)
The shooting in Los Vegas hit close to home one of my friends from high school is a trauma surgeon at unlv medical center he's never seen so much blood in his life the death toll is now at 60 with 30 more critical so who knows if the death toll will continue rise My thoughts and prayers go to Los Vegas there family's and friends and those who where lost in this tragedy so sad.
Katie Williams really sorry to hear that, but I'm also thankful for all the helpers.....the police and medical staff and just regular people who jumped in and helped out. I go to Vegas 1-2 times a year.....I have a trip planned for this coming January. Sad to see such a senseless loss of life. Blessings to you
Hi Chris, May we (Faith Lutheran Church in Roseburg, Oregon) use this video this Sunday for in-person and live stream worship? We have all the appropriate licenses and will credit your performance. Please let me know. Epiphany blessings and Happy New Year!
Actually, there are multiple victims who have come forward. I've debated for a while about whether or not to leave his videos up on my channel. I will, for the time being, because they still appear in the OCP books....but I'm guessing that for the 2022 annual hymnals (like Breaking Bread)they will be removed (2021 are already printed so they can't do anything about that). If/when they're removed from those books, I'll remove my videos. It's a sad situation
@@ChrisBrunelle A sad situation indeed and also a very frustrating one. My church choir played a good handful of songs by Haas, including his Mass of Light for, at the very least, 2 decades. When we finally got the tap on the shoulder from our Diocese to no longer play his music, we knew what a loss it was going to be. The congregation really liked the Mass of Light, especially the Gloria. But also the individual compositions, especially You Are Mine, which I think is his greatest contribution. I completely understand why we, and other Dioceses, can't play his music anymore and it's the right call but every time I have to put a Mass planner together and one of his songs fits perfectly, my reaction is "damn it, man".
Agreed. I discussed it at length with one of his victims and she suggested that a more important thing to do rather than just eliminating all his music (and removing videos like this) would be to make sure the story gets out there. I encouraged her to post links to articles about the situation on every video she could find, including all of mine. I would bet 95% of folks who have commented on this video don’t have any idea about the substantial allegations against him. I’m not here to tell anyone what to think, but pretending nothing happened and “erasing” things seems counterproductive . Your thoughts?
@@ChrisBrunelle I like the idea of the article. Yeah, awareness is always the first step. And we, as Catholics, are terrible about it and the silence adds more hurt. If we want to be the Body of Christ, we have to let the rest of the body know when one part is in pain, or we’ll never heal and help each other through it.

Please continue singing Catholic songs you're such an inspiration for the weary and lonely
I will have this played at my funeral 🕊✝️.
Another Aunt Jean favorite I can play her over the phone. She sings along. Sr Jean, age 92. Thank you Chris.
I will come to you in the silence
I will lift you from all your fear
You will hear My voice
I claim you as My choice
Be still, and know I am near
I am hope for all who are hopeless
I am eyes for all who long to see
In the shadows of the night,
I will be your light
Come and rest in Me
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine
I am strength for all the despairing
Healing for the ones who dwell in shame
All the blind will see, the lame will all run free
And all will know My name
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine
I am the Word that leads all to freedom
I am the peace the world cannot give
I will call your name, embracing all your pain
Stand up, now, walk, and live
Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

Is this in Rockwell?
One of the great song, but sadly banned in most Catholic churches in the USA.
Beautiful song but the composer is under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct. Pray for him and the alleged victim.
